Summary: Great Basic printer
Review: Basic, inexpensive and gets the job done. I have two printers and this is the default. It helps when wrting papers and cheap enough to have a backup cartridge laying about vs. my other printer where they are almost 10 times more costly.

Review: I also had an older Canon printer which used the BC-02 cartridges and upgraded to a newer Canon S300 printer last year which uses the BCI-24 cartridge and noticed the water resistant difference. The BC-02 ink seemed to be a higher quality as I don't recall my children smudging school printouts near as much as they do with the BCI-24. This is unfortunate but it's a cheap printer..bound to have lower quality ink I suppose.

Review: I purchased a Canon MP360 Color printer/scanner/copier based on customer reviews. It has so far performed well except for the black ink tank. I type many reports and have found the ink tank entirely too small. My old Canon BJ200 prints far more pages than the BCI-24. In fact if someone knows of another company which sells a compatible BCI-24 tank with more storage, let me know!

Review: This ink is fine for very basic printing needs; it's economical. Just don't get it wet, or try to use an overliner on it (sorry students and researchers)!!! My 8-year old Canon BJ-200e (which uses the BC-02 Black cartridge) is far superior in terms of water resistance! You would think that after 8 years, Canon would improve their product, not make it worse! I wish all printer makers would go with Pigment Black Ink that is very water resistant.

Review: This is a good basic printer, nothing flashy but VERY cheap. I was surprised by the quality for the price. HOWEVER, I was also dismayed by how quickly I ran thru the first black ink cartridge. (Less than 100 pages I believe). As another reviewer points out the replacement cartridges are comparatively inexpensive, but I'm old enough to remember getting a whole year of typing out of one Selectric ribbon...anyway, great basic printer if you're on a tight budget, for students, or as a backup.
