Rating: Summary: What can I say.. It works Review: It seems the only ink you can use for my 7200 printer is this ink and it works fine. You can't really rate printer ink but what the heck! It's pretty darn cheap here on amazon.com too! It costs me $40 for black and $45 for color at ******* and they're always out! So I'm going to start ordering direct from Amazon. If you have a Lexmark 7200, this is the ink to use =)
Rating: Summary: My opinon....Crapola Review: Lexmark is the worst product (right next to Compaq Computers) I have ever had the displeasure of using. I tried the cold water method, work a little while after ..great tip. The black cartride does dry out too fast!! So I am now looking into a good laser printer. Not sure what I will do about the color setup? I would get the refill kits, but why bother if the cartride is going to dry out all the time. It seems the red dries out quickest? Oh well..lesson well learned.
Rating: Summary: Waterproof, but definitely not smear-proof Review: Lexmark's waterproof black ink seems to degrade very quickly. After having a cartridge for a few months, the ink starts to smear badly when touched (even after drying for days or weeks). After 3 cartridges, I'm convinced that this is a consistent problem with Lexmark's ink. Unfortunately, with no alternative available, those of us with Lexmark's printers (that use this ink) are stuck with smearing ink, and no help from Lexmark (repeated emails have yielded no interest in resolving the problem. They say "some minor smearing is normal," and don't address the major smearing). The NON-waterproof COLOR ink does not have this smearing problem. (12A1980) Other than the smearing ink, I love my Lexmark 5700. If I could get good black ink for it, it would be perfect.
Rating: Summary: Is really a good cartridge. Review: People, people, people. Why so many dissatisfied customers. You have to follow the instructions that come with equipment. My last printer only printed. No copies, no fax, no scan. The print heads never dried up, it was a Hewlett Packard. This is a Lexmark and the print heads dry up. You have to print one sheet every five days or so, a "clean cartridges" sheet is good to do. This way you will never dry up and the cartridges will last a long time. If you forget to purge them, just soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes and voila, they work like new. As for the cost, my brother tells me the black refill available for less than 10 dollars works very well. He says the color refill is not so good, I have not tried either one. After a month of many copies and prints I am still on my first set of cartridges that came with my machine.
Rating: Summary: Black printing for Lexmark printers Review: The black cartridge is usually the first to go and is very $$(compared to the competition). The technical service people at Lexmark only have the standard non-rocket science responses and told myself and a fellow worker with the same problem that it was the printing head! My Lexmark Z42 prints fantastic(when the cartridge isn't drying up), but I cannot justify guessing whether it is going to print or not. It is only 50 months old! My old nine pin dot matrix color is still printing on the same old ribbon that is 10+ years old. My advice is to consider another printer if you rely on printing at all!
Rating: Summary: Nothing but frustration Review: The first black ink cartridge I got was a dud. The replacement was also a dud. Will not buy from this company again.
Rating: Summary: ink cartridge Review: The Lexmark Ink Cartridges say that they fit the Z series Printers.well I have a Z23 printer and it does not fit.The ad is wrong.it needs to be updated so that others donnot make the same mistake that I did.
Rating: Summary: Great print quality, fair price, but there's a catch... Review: The quality of this ink is great. It's indeed water proof, but obviously the paper has to be of good quality as well. The price is somewhat on the high side and can add up quickly if you print a lot of full text pages. Most likely you're going to use this cartridge in a color printer, so better buy a few ahead of time. Unfortunately, Lexmark's cartridges are proprietary so you won't find any 3rd party brands on the market (Compaq Printer = Lexmark Printer). This will ensure that Lexmark has full control over the price you pay. Lexmark's proprietary design isn't flawless. Should a paper get jammed at the printhead (by a corner curled by a bad feed), you'll have to pray that the head wasn't damaged. Be sure not to leave the printer (cartridge) unused for more than two weeks, otherwise the ink will dry on the heads. This can sometimes be solved by placing the cartridge in a dish with COLD water for about 5 minutes. But usually it's the end of the cartridge - so much for a 3/4th full cartridge! If you encounter a problem with the cartridge (or the printer), don't bother calling Lexmark's support number. You'll have to deal with ill-manered and inexperienced technicians.
Rating: Summary: Cartridge compatibility Review: This cartridge can also be used with the Z31, Z42, Z43 Z51, Z52 and Z53
Rating: Summary: 2cd attempt at a review for ok product Review: This is my 2cd attempt to get a posted review for this product. I used to use this product & the 12A1980 color for Compaq model IJ300 now I use a Compaq IJ750. My complaint is about the product is why it runs so much. The other day I printed 3 pages in a row-2 of the 3 the black ink ran!! And, this was on good paper.
