Review: The basic device is pretty good, sound quality, simple controls, good display. But, the rest of the package is shoddy. The software is very confusing. The owners manual is simplistic and just plain wrong in a number of areas, particularly when describing the software. It comes with a nice looking leather pouch, that is unfortunately too small to hold the player without constantly squeezing the buttons. The pouch is also not designed to accomodate the earphone jack, so you have to walk around with the pouch flap hanging open all the time. I contacted Samsung technical support and their tech reps agreed with me regarding the software problems but couldn't help other than to suggest I try a different company's software! Bottom line, a real turn off from Samsung.

Summary: Not user friendly
Review: I bought the Yepp 700 and was somewhat dissappointed. Within minutes of owning it a piece that holds the battery broke. I also found the software and instructions to be clumsy and missing any kind of step by step instruction beyond basic operation. The unit is also somewhat bulky and has a lot of parts compared to other mp3 players.

Summary: If you can get it on sale then buy it for sure
Review: ... I bought it for my girlfriend for Christmas and it's really nice. I don't easily get confused with computer software but I don't see how anyone would have any problem with the yepp explorer program. It was really easy to use. I chose this player out of every single one I carefully reviewed on amazon. It has a nice look, displays the name of the song on the screen, has at least 128 MB on board, and I thought it was really easy to use. The changing the font feature on the player is pretty cool too. I plan on buying one for myself along with another 128 memory card. I wish they could make these hold up to 1 gig or something like that.... I must mention that this is a real review. ...I would say the carrying case is pretty ugly, but I don't think you really need it. I also thought the buttons were a little tiny but I got quickly used to using them.

Summary: Terrific product
Review: The Samsung Yepp 700H is, simply put, awesome. Everything about it is simply great. The sound quality (which you can change using the Equalizer), the look (sleek), and just about everything else.
Still, there's a problem with it. A small one, but nonetheless very annoying:
The volume. The default is very low, and it always resets when it turns off. I checked in the manual and it doesn't have anything on saving the volume default. Now this may seem like not a big deal, but it's annoying going into your pocket and taking it out of it's case (which is very tight on it), just to increase the volume. And the next time it turns off, you have to do it again. Boo...
Still, all the positives null the only negative.
Great product. I recommend it to everyone.

Summary: Looks great but not doesn't perform so great
Review: The case is gorgeous but so easy to scratch. The FM tuner quality was horrible. It was like listening to internet radio with all the static. The Audio manager was annoying to handle, impractical. There were bugs in the program which stopped me from listening to all of my songs. You also have to pay for the program if you want to transfer songs from a CD (even mp3 ripped CDs) to the player. Samsung would have gladly attempted to fix the problem but I just had enuff.

Summary: One Of the Best Players I Have Ever Had
Review: I got this player a while ago, I am very pleased with the result. I love it, it has tones of storage and theyn also have another version which holds 192mb instead of 128mb. If you have songs that are about 4,000kb then this player will roughly hold about 32 songs.

Another thing that I was worryed about was the sound quality... it has its own settings in there but it also has eq settings that you can program... over all this is the best player out there I reviewed about 5 other players to this one and this one tops em all... 5 Stars...

Pros-
-Great sound quality
-good storage
-user friendly software
-small compact
extra battery storage (if the Ni-Mh battery dies)

Cons
-battery compartment comes lose

Summary: Really Love This Thing
Review: I bought the Yepp about a month ago and just fell in love with it. The hardware itself is tiny, the FM tuner / controller is easy to use and the sound is outstanding. Just a great product.

The one thing that can be improved is the software, which is laughable. Songs have to be transferred one at a time, you cannot decipher from Windows sounds to actual songs, and the software usually gets song names / artists / titles wrong. You have to do a lot of work to set it up.

If the Yepp's software followed the same usability as Kazaa, or any folder oriented application, then this would be the perfect product.

Summary: very good player with many features
Review: the good:
-fm tuner (this was very hard to find on a player with expandable memory and was a must since i work out at the gym a lot. Good reception to hear the different tv stations)
-expandable memory
-long battery life with the additional battery pack
-backlit remote and player window
-small, lighweight, sleek player
-coolness factor (my co workers were drooling over it :) )
-had no problems running the software (yepp explorer) on win 2K
-fast download time

the bad:
-the fm tuner is a little cumbersome when running being that it is heavy enuf that if you clip it to your shirt, it will fall off while running.
-a belt strap would be much more useful than the belt clip since if you are a girl, you wear a lot of stuff with thin elastic waist bands. so if you run, it's just not that sturdy. The case is fine to just clip onto the treadmill, but i had hoped it would be able to clip to my waist. mebbe i'll just make my own arm/waist band.
-when running software on win XP, caused computer to crash, but then windows XP does that with other apps too...i am thinking downloading the new service pack will help with that...
-headphones tend to fall out while running...but i have pretty small ears. mebbe if you are a guy your ears would be bigger.

Summary: Great player... When it works...
Review: I used the YP-700H for about two weeks before it quit on me. No power, no sound, nothing. Samsung says they will fix or replace it, but I am still disappointed. As far as the features and sound, everything else was great.

Summary: Not a best buy
Review: Yepp 700H is nice looking but apparently only works with iTunes 1.1 or 1.2 on the Mac platform. iTunes is on 3.0 with 2.0.4 being the last working version that ships with Apple products. It is useless to say Mac compatible.

On a PC, the unit caused my computer to crash and repairs to software loads needed to be done to recover. So I was not able to get satisfaction via that route either.

May be a good idea to just ...go- and get a iPod for Mac or PC.

The buttons on the Yepp are difficult to use unless you have tiny fingers, the rocker switch slips and it's easy to depress the play function while rocking, confusing your input. The remote is cool though. The FM Tuner worked medium-well.
