Summary: Not a very sturdy product
Review: The music playing capabilities of this little MP3 player are great. However, within a year of buying it, my Yepp is falling apart. I always carry the player in its carrying case and I've treated it very well (i.e. never dropped it, etc.) yet it looks like it's been in a war zone. The rechargeable battery compartment doesn't close anymore (it's currently being held closed by several rubber bands) and the non-rechargeable battery compartment is jammed by a battery that just doesn't want to come out. These problems arose within the 1st 6 months of owning the machine.

Summary: It's nice and light, but has some issues
Review: This is has been an OK MP3 player for me so far. MP3 storage capacity: It was the most storage on a player that I could afford when I bought it. I also bought a spare Smartmedia card, so with the storage on the player itself, the card in the player and the spare card, I am usually all set for traveling. Player design: The player design is OK. It's very small and light, which is really nice. As many people have said in reviews already, the small buttons and rocker switch on the player are awkward. I usually avoid them all together and just use the remote. The remote is handy in that it has the "Hold" button so that it doesn't get turned on by accident in your bag and I always use it if I am taking the player in or out of the case, since the case it so snug that it moves the rocker switch on the side of the player, and turns on the player or changes the track. The remote cord is a little longer than I'd like. I usually fold the remote cord up and tuck it under the flap of the case, close the case, and clip the remote to the outside flap of the case, so the only thing really dangling loose from the player then are the headphones. Also, as another reviewer already said, the headphone jack on the remote for the player can be faulty. One ear shorts out and I get no sound out of the right ear unless I jiggle the headphone plug around in the jack for a minute. Once I finally get sound in both ears, it's fine for a while until I slightly bump it, and I have to start messing with it all over again. If I unplug the remote and plug my headphones directly into the player, it seems to work fine. I do not want to have to make do with out the remote, though. So, I emailed Samsung support to find out how to get a replacement remote. Yepp software: This has by far been the biggest headache for me. The software that comes with the player (to get your player to talk to your computer to find the MP3s on your computer) is ANNOYING! It is very cumbersome and poorly designed. The worst for me was having to delete and re-add tracks to the software's database. After ripping CDs, you have to "add tracks" to the software's database so that it knows what MP3s you have. Well, without thinking, we moved the location and slightly changed the file names of our MP3 collection. After that, whenever I went in to load MP3s on my player, it couldn't find a lot of the tracks. I had to delete all of the tracks from the database that couldn't be found. And the most frustrating part of the whole thing was that you couldn't delete them whole chunks or whole albums at a time. You have to delete each track individually! AND, then go back and re-add those albums. What a pain. I guess a solution to this is to use different software. I have heard that other programs, such as Windows Media player, will work. I just haven't taken the time to try that. I will, though, as the "Yepp Audio Manager" software drives me nuts.

Summary: good player for my needs, but the Yepp software needs help
Review: This Yepp MP3 player was a good player for my needs, when I bought it. It was the most storage for the price I could afford at the time, plus the player is tiny, which is nice. However, the Yepp software that comes with the player to get your MP3 player to talk to your computer to find your MP3 needs serious help! It is sooo cumbersome and overly confusing. It is so time-consuming to "add tracks" to the database. First you rip all your CDs then you have to "add" them within the Yepp software so that it knows what you can add to your player. But the worst part is if you happen to move or rename your MP3s on your computer after you've added them to the Yepp database. If you move or rename your MP3s on your computer after you've added them to the Yepp database, the next time you attempt to add those tracks to your player, it won't find them. So you have to delete each and every track from the Yepp database individually and re-add those albums. I found this out the hard way! The worst part is that you can't select a whole chunk of tracks to delete, the software is so cumbersome that you literally have to delete each track individually. It is a real pain. My next step is to try to use a different software program all together, such as Windows Media player. I can get Windows Media player to recognize my MP3 player, now I just have to take the time to figure it out. So, learn from my mistakes about dealing with the Yepp software...

Summary: Quick and Easy with Great Results
Review: I'm in my 50s and this is my first MP3 player. It was very easy to figure out and the software is easy to use to load cuts from CDs onto the MP3. I use it while running and also as background music while flying. I added a 128 meg Smart Media card and can jam about four hours of music on this little thing. It easily clips to my shorts while exercising and slips into my shirt pocket on the plane. Smaller than a deck of cards it fits unobtrusively in my briefcase. The batteries last a long time for me and then are recharged in a fairly short time. Sound quality is just like the CD. I highly recommend this Samsung Yepp MP3 player.

Summary: The best!
Review: This player is the best one out there. It's compact and stylish with a cool carrying case. The storage size is great, 128 mb, which is a perfect size for me. It holds about 35-38 songs. You can buy additional storage, but I really haven't felt the need to. The song quality is awesome, great bass, very clear. The tuner works ok. It's not the greatest, but if placed right, radio stations will come in clearly. But the radio isn't really why I bought this player anyway. It's a nice extra. The best thing about this player is the rechargable battery. When it's fully charged, it lasts about 20 hours. And then you have a AAA back-up until you can get it charged again. It's great not having to pack (and pay for) extra batteries. The software is good, too. It takes some getting used to, but after about 10-15 mintues or so, you get the hang of how everything works. Well, hope this helps! If you buy this player, you won't be disappointed! It's awesome!

Summary: Nice Mp3 Player but lots of problems
Review: I had this player now for 8 months and the wires connecting to the remote are broken so that I can only hear in one ear. I can't replace this, but there is nothing wrong with the player itself. Its unfortunate that I can no longer use this unit because of a loose wire connecting from the player to the remote. The sound is good, and its an attractive unit. The remote is also flawed, its very heavy so that its hard to clip to anything without falling off. That leaves me with about 2 feet of cable and I can't put the whole thing in my pocket. The remote makes it awkard to use when running. I have to carry a handbag over my shoulder in order to use it without feeling like the player is tugging on my head. I don't know how guys would use this, unless they were using a pack back. The recharagable battery has saved me a lot of money, and the battery life is good. The radio can definitely be improved on. It only receives FM and there's a lot of static, this might be because I live in a large city, however I don't have problems with other walkmans or CD players with radio features.

Summary: Badly designed, badly built
Review: If you're looking to pay top dollar for a poorly designed MP3 player that is badly constructed out of shoddy materials, then the YP-700H is the one for you. 1) Ergonomically bad. The controls are small and unfriendly. The Yepp is downright useless if you're listening to the thing while jogging; it's easy to hit the wrong button when trying to rewind or fast forward and I often find myself having to stop to set things right. 2) Shoddy materials and construction. Mine has been subjected to fairly light use, but the finish on the corners is worn through and the battery compartment is held shut by a piece of electrical tape. Battery won't hold a charge. 3) Sorry software. Limited, clunky and unintuitive. This is the first electronic item that I've reviewed on Amazon. I paid [money] bucks for mine at a local retailer and have been complaining to my wife about my disappointment in the unit. She told me to quit whining and write a review on Amazon. Summary: don't buy it.

Summary: Good bye tapes!!... WOW
Review: Ok So I have only had this new toy for a day. Negatives are that the person that wrote the user manual is hopefully no longer working for Samsung. Other than that the negatives stop. I like the small(compact) size. Having two sources of battery supply is great. Downloading music (once you get the hang of it) is a breeze. I use both wma(Windows) and mp3 formats. Sound quality is exceptional but I must make it clear that I use a pair of Bose Noise Reducing Headphones (UNBELIEVABLE)Jerry Garcia has never sounded better. The small window (with backlight feature) is easy to scroll around in, although the navigating buttons are a bit small. The built in equilizer is great and gives you pleanty of listening options. I have not had a chance to try out the FM tuner but that is not really why I purchased this device. I have also purchased an additional 128k smart card and will double the listening pleasure from 3 hrs to 6 (smokin!). So for just having made the step from a Walkman(tapes) to this, has been a fun experience. I highly reccomend doing your homework and reading up on the different types but I am very pleased with the Samsung.

-I advise you do not use this if your planning on running with this thing if you're planned to jog or run.. unless u have some kind of front small pocket thingie that goes around your waist or a pretty big pocket somewhere...(ex. backpack, sweatpants, etc.)
-Nothing is really that bad about this To recommend: YES OF COURSE... THE BEST SAMSUNG MP3 PLAYER IN THE USA SO FAR!!! I THINK THIS IS THE NEXT BEST THING SINCE iPod... if you are a runner with pockets this is the best thing yet... and if your a guy who just wants to listen to lots of songs, but want to carry around something flashy and small than this is the one for you... hope this helped

Review: The extra AAA battery pack seems a little flimsy, but with the carrying case they give you, you don't have to worry about it coming off. Uploading songs to it was simple and easy, great sound quality, and I like the little remote control on the headphones. Lightweight, small, and sounds good.
