Summary: There is no perfect MP3 player yet, but this is CLOSE!
Review: I have been researching portable MP3 players for some time now. I have used a creative nomad II and nomad jukebox. I also have tried Rios. If it weren't for its size and weight...the nomad jukebox is a best buy for sure. BUT for true PORTABLES it was between the RIO 800 and the pocket concert. I went for the pocket concert for several reasons...1)the amplifier seemed most powerful on paper, 2)the 128MB (although not upgradable) was a good amount for the money, and 3)FM radio(good for TVs in gym and when you get tired of the 2-4 hours of music you can fit on the concert).

When I got the product, I was nothing short of amazed. I was concerned about a hiss some people complained about, but short of listening to this unit in a sound proof room, I could hear no distracting hiss. The headphone jack was fine on my unit. Set up was a breeze and I have over 2 hours of WMA files on the unit. Transfer was good - about 3.5 minutes for 42MB. Controls are easy to navigate and simple. FM reception is decent. I work in a building with so much interference, but i still got the powerful stations. The headphones are decent too. I am a DJ and have many different cans and all of them sounded good on the pocket concert. The bookmark feature is nice to have for longer files. Finally, it is so light, portable and stylish.

The only bad things are that you can't EASILY organize files for transfer with the software or once they are on the player. Also the fast forward and reverse are almost useless. They are way too slow. It's painful. I can only hope that intel keeps up with this and supports new formats with firmware upgrades.

Summary: Very well designed
Review: The Intel pocket concert mp3 player is simply amazing in terms of its ease of use and simplicity of design. I didn't even need to take a look at its manual to get it working. It ran like clockwork from the word go!!!

The sound is great and there is abosolutely no cracking at loud volumes while at the same time all the notes can be heard with ease at lower volumes. The headphones are really comfortable and dont slip. I do feel a bit concious about myself while wearing them though!!! I have not experiened any problems with the headphone jack yet (touch wood).

The button layout is supreme. It is possible to access all the features with your index finger and thumb alone . The wheel makes selecting options and songs easy and quick.

I highly recommend this player to any one who is looking for a high quality mp3 player which sounds out of this world. Go get it now!!!!

Summary: This player rocks!
Review: This player has 128MB of flash, double what all other players currently offer. It has two great software programs to help rip and transfer your music to the player. The design is modern and the LCD screen tells you everything. Stop looking for an mp3 player and buy this one, it's awesome!

Summary: Great MP3 Player
Review: This MP3 player is excellent. The downloading process to the MP3 player is very fast and the software is extremely easy to use. The left side of the screen shows a list of mp3's on your computer and the right side shows the mp3's on your Intel player. Just highlight a song and click the download button!!

The player is light and the buttons are easy to use. I find the sound quality to be excellent, no hissing!!!!!!

Summary: A Work of Art
Review: I received the Pocket Concert today- opened the box and put in some fresh batteries that i had, not the ones that came with it. I tried to insert the headphones, unsuccessfully. I remembered the review i saw on amazon about the headphone jack not working. I tried 3 more times, and it would only go in half way. I gave a final push, and it popped right in- no problems with the jack after that. I installed the software, restarted my computer, and then opened the intel program. I stared unbelievingly at the form for about 2 mins, because it was SO SIMPLE i didnt believe it. No file menu or anything- straight out. I had trouble connecting my player at first, but then i followed the help instructions and got it working in about 20 mins. I clicked a whole bunch of songs (37 wma's) and then left it d/l them. When it was finished (7-10 mins) i took it off and listened. First i used the neckphones- and i heard a sssssssssssss. I fiddled with the jack and pushed in the phones again- this time it worked perfectly- no more sssssssssss problems. After about 1 hr 30 mins the batteries wore out. I put in the batteries that came with it- at 3:30. I have been listening non stop and it is 6:00 now, still with FULL BATTERIES. In person the player itself is SO GOOD LOOKING! It fits inside a empty deck of cards- and looks cool. I converted all my files to wma, and it held 37. It took under 4 seconds to delete them all. a slight problem- the name of the songs got messed up when i used wma, but i suspect they are fine in mp3 format. I dont need more than 40 songs, b/c i am not going to be listening for more than 200 mins anyway. All the problems i HAD are totally resolved- making this a PERFECT palyer.

Pros- Buttons GREAT- Scroll wheel NOICE feature- Great company- Amazing software and Online support- 128 Mbs- speaks for itself- Fm tuner, gets all the channels (works well too!)- LOOKS- Size & weight- has belt clip-

CONS No mike- not something to buy for recording... get a recorder!- No a/c adapter plug- not really a con cause batt = 10 hrs!- price?- id pay double for this beauty!

I spent a lot of time deciding which mp3 player i wanted to spend money on, to replace my old one. I couldn't have chosen better, and you cant go wrong with an INTEL. THIS BABY IS PERFECT

Summary: Beautiful Mp3 player here
Review: First of all, for those of you who read the technical info, you really can't fit 4 hours of MP3 music on this. Perhaps 4 hours of wma but wma is terrible quality music. I added my song time up; I have 30 songs, 2 hours and 17 minutes long. The system itself is very sturdy. The only other downside (if you could call it that) is that the headphones that are included are kind of dorky. They are blue and don't have all that great of a fit. I'd recommend Sonys for wrap-around headphones. The radio reception is great. I live in a part of Anchorage that doesn't have the greatest radio reception but most if the stations I did try came in fine. Overall this MP3 player disserves a 6 out of 5 rating. As others have said though, there is always room for improvement.

Summary: Most EXCELLENT player -- probably the best
Review: I did some very heavy shopping around for a new MP3 player and believe this is it. I'm never without a portable player and I use one quite a bit, so the basics that I wanted were: something that could hold quite a few songs, something that was reasonably priced, and something that was lightweight without a whole lot of unnecessary gadgets -- and that's what this is.

First of all, the sound quality of this is incredible. Not only did I feel like I was surrounded by the music with fairly simple headphones, but I had control over the bass and treble as well. INCREDIBLE quality that actually moved me. Second, this has the ability to switch over to radio which actually swayed me towards buying this player over the others -- I really don't know of a decent priced player with this capability. I'm also able to read the songs I have on my player rather than randomly hitting "forward" on the player searching for the song and I simply scroll to the one I want. It's outside cover is made of aluminium which is a little more solid than a plastic exterior (I dropped my old one and the battery compartment snapped, the retailer wanted $100 to fix a plastic TAB.) Plus, this player's endurance is for a person who wants quality over "fashion" i.e., I could care less if my snap-on face plate matches my outfit.

The only bad things would be the fast-forward takes a bit to get used to, because it skips ahead first by 10-15 seconds and then by holding it down does it start rolling. The second would be the headphones, which are okay, but I really don't want to fumble around with these metropolis-like awkward neck-phones when I can just slap on a normal pair. Any other headphones are applicable to the player. As for playing songs in a specific order, you can load them one by one in the order you want, or simply go ahead and bookmark them, which can take a couple of minutes. Download time isn't bad. Upgrading the memory isn't applicable, but I felt 30 songs was good enough for the whole day.

I picked this player because most others are unbelievably priced, especially the Rio. Whereas Rio isn't too bad, the quality doesn't match up and I didn't like the idea that memory upgrade was limited to THEIR product at over $150. If I bought the 64MG player and snapped on another 64MG, it would have easily added up to $350, which I thought was ridiculous. Sure, they have another player with a huge amount of some 360MG, but I thought: Who would feel okay walking around with a player worth $600? Plus, after days of research and surfing, Amazon DOES have the best priced Intel around (all others seem to add on $50.)

Other than that, the player has a number of add-ons that are really great. The car adapter is fairly simple, coming with a cassette adapter (this stuff is separate, but pretty good) AND the player can be dropped into a charging dock (with rechargeable batteries,) to simply recharge the whole player. No more fumbling with the batteries in and out of the player to recharge. Just place the whole thing in the charger! Excellent.

I highly recommend this player as a MP3 user who has really done her research on players. This one is probably the best in all areas and I feel was a great purchase. If you're a previous MP3 player user, it will take minutes to get a hang of. New users, just read the easy instructions. Go for it -- you won't be disappointed.

Summary: So close...
Review: My biggest complaint would be hiss. In a quiet room, plug in some headphones, turn the unit on and listen.. sssssss.... But it's not too bad- until you start playing a song. On a quiet song, you'll hear a nice steady SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.... louder than the previous hiss. I previously had a Rio500, which was VERY quiet and really (IMO) sounded better. Of course, this unit has 128MB of RAM, so now I don't have to worry about getting all but one or two songs from a CD onto it. The hardware is pretty nice, other than the hiss. The lack of a true stop button takes some getting used to. The software is very minimal. However, at least it's not overkill. The transfer software is not merged in with any other kind of player/ripper/what-have-you (although you are FORCED to install MusicMatch Jukebox in addition to the transfer software). It simply lets you put music on your player. Good. Some tips.. If you keep all your MP3s in one massive directory, use drag and drop from the shell rather than their directory explorer. Be careful copying tracks over, because you can't re-arrange them after you've put them on. It looks like they spent more time making the windows blue and round, rather than putting in features that make the software easier to use.

Overall, I think maybe 7/10 is a more accurate score than 4/5, but still, a nice unit.

Summary: By far the Best MP3 player around! Buy the whole package.
Review: The player is amazing! It is as small as a pager and thinner than most cell phones. The sound quality is great and I can fit 40 - 50 songs on it. Transferring a 5MB file to it only takes 10 to 20 seconds. The FM radio comes in very clear as well. I would recommend that you buy the charger and adapter package with it because if you are going to use it a lot the batteries only last for 10 hours. Rechargable batteries come with it but the charger is sold separately. I am very happy with my purchase!
