Summary: I agree with the masses
Review: Fantastic player. Used it while running for the first time today. Belt clip held it firmly in place on my shorts, and despite things I have read to the contrary, the neckphones it came with stayed perfectly on my ears (if you find it falling, try tucking your ears under the frame, this way it stays on the same way glasses do).

All other raves are accurate: can store lots of music, great power (volume), great battery life, FM Radio (great if you use the stairmonster or treadmill and want to listen to the TV at the gym), easy software (make sure to download the free upgrade to MusicMatch 6.0, mine came with 5.0...I had to go to musicmatch.com and download it and reinstall over my registered 5.0).

I did notice the hiss at low volumes described by someone else. To me it's very minor and undetectable once the music starts. I think someone said you can counteract it by using headphones with their own volume (see other reviews, either on here or cnet).

I'm very happy with this player!

Summary: What a great pocket sized player!
Review: Day 1 with the Intel Pocket Concert was like heaven. Sounds great, easy interface, roomy 128MB, bass/treble controls and IMHO it can get downright loud! If your on the fence about this player, get off and go purchase this world class product. After all, when a company like Intel, with billions to spend of chip fabs decides to engineer a pocket mp3 player, can one really think they'd goof it up?

Summary: Awsome MP3
Review: I just got my Intel 128 MP3 player and it rocks! Anyone who needs an MP3 Player should look into this one. Its Sleek easy to use..Has a nice belt clip and the Headphones rock. With 128MB of memory its all you'll ever need! I have 25 songs so far on my player and I still have 20+/- Megs left. Are you getting the picture yet? The software is super easy to use. I didnt even read any directions. Just install it, and start ripping music from your CD or transfer your napster files. The cool thing about the Program is that it actually makes the directory of the Music CD as it rips the Music. So if you have say a metallica CD it will make the directory metallica and send all the converted Metallica Songs to that directory. AWESOME! The only thing is the Radio channels dont come in as clear as I would like but with the ability to hold so many Songs who needs the radio anymore. Not to mention the Play Back Quality is crystal clear. If you got the money Buy it! nuff said.

Summary: Very Disappointing
Review: This is a dynamite unit... except for the hissing noise which is unbearable at lower volume songs. I ordered two of thesehoping my first was defective but the second one had the same annoying hiss. A real shame because on loud songs this player really sounds terrific. I'm shocked that Intel hasn't addressed this problem. I would not buy this product until Intel fixes this. I returned mine and bought a Nomad II which is terrific.

Summary: Awesome sound in a small package
Review: This thing is smaller than my cellphone, yet it packs some great features and sounds great! I saw a review by someone complaining about digital noise, and all I can say is that it must have been a bad unit. My player sounded great. If you turn the volume to a minimum, you can notice a hiss, but you'd have to be stitting in a quiet library to notice it. And I tried on different headphones, and the hiss was even less noticable. Anyway, the sound quality is high and above most other mp3 players I've heard. You've even got separate bass and treble controls!

I loaded it up with almost 2 hours of music (software works great) in minutes. And it will not eat up batteris like a CD player would. And it's got FM radio!

You can't upload from different directories, which makes getting the play order you like a hassle (Intel, firmware upgrade??), a small pain if you don't want to bookmark the songs. Also, keep in mind, you can't upgrade the memory. Though at 128MB, you should be good to go.

Summary: Great features, but digital noise is just too much.
Review: This unit has great features. Check out the other reviews for details. One not mentioned is the belt clip, which allows you to attach to your belt like a beeper. Another, is that the backlight display comes on for a few seconds when you hit a button.

The downside, and it is a big downside, the audio suffers from digital noise, generated from the pocket concert, into the audio output. There is also a moderate amount of hiss from the amplifier as well. The digital noise just ruins listening to anything at low/moderate volumes. Is this a design flaw, or a problem with a single unit? I don't know. Anyways, to test, encode a fairly quiet track, one that isn't heavily compressed. Lower the volume all the way. Raise it one notch. Start playing from the beginning of the track. The noise is louder than the audio at this level. The noise doesn't get louder as you increase the volume, but unless you listen to heavily compressed music at fairly high volumes, the noise will either be audible, or fatiguing. I had two other pairs of ears verify my findings.

Too bad. If it wasn't for the digital noise, I would rate this 5 stars, as it has the best interface going.

I found the radio to be quite insensitive, but I didn't expect great reception. The radio could use a mono button to cut down on the weak station stereo noise though.

Summary: Amazing sound, very cool
Review: This thing is great. It's smaller than a pack of cigarettes, and the sound is awesome. Setting it up took less than 10 minutes, and I was listening to tracks in about another 5 minutes, thanks to the included MusicMatch Jukebox and the super-simple Intel Audio Manager. It's great for exercising because of its size. The controls are easy to understand and use.

Summary: Definitely Great
Review: I was debating whether to get the Nomad Jukebox or the Intel PocketConcert. The Nomad Jukebox can store 6 GB of songs, but it is not designed for mobile use (DiscMan size, 14 ounces). So I got the Intel PocketConcert. I knew the PocketConcert was small and lightweight (3 ounces), but I was surprised at how small the size was. The PocketConcert is slightly bigger than a large lighter. Also, 128 MB is enough storage space for a good selection of songs. I currently have 28 songs stored. The Intel AudioManager makes it fairly easy to update the selections on your PocketConcert. Overall, what I bought will keep me happy for several years. By then, we should have an mp3 player that is less than 3 ounces and can store more than 6 GB of music.
