Summary: THIS THING IS AMAZING!
Review: First, I must say that I have never owned an MP3 player before, so I can't say, "Oh, well, this one is better than that." And I was very reluctant to spend money on something that I knew very little about. After months of research (literally), I was still unsure if I wanted to take the plunge. I was skeptical about reliability, user friendliness, and sound quality. When I mentioned to a friend that I was thinking of buying an mp3 player to exercise with, they said "Sure, go for it, if you want crappy sound." Not very encouraging. Well, after much conversing, meditating, role-playing, and pondering, I did go for it, and I am pleased as punch with my purchase! The sound quality on the FL100 is incredible! The FM radio sounds just as amazing. Although I don't use them, the ear buds sound great, too (I hate ear buds-they never stay in my ears, especially when I'm sweating away on a treadmill). I am not the most technologically advanced person, but this thing is easy as pie to set up and operate. I was up and running in just minutes...really. It has worked flawlessy with both Windows 98(my old desktop) and Windows XP (my laptop). I have not tried the voice recording function (I have absolutely no use for this function) so I cannot comment on that. The LCD is easy to decipher, and the backlight is nice and bright. It's small, light, perfect for exercising, and all the nifty features are customizable (equalizer, scroll speed, backlight duration, auto- shut off, just to name a few). The fact that it is expandable is icing on the cake. Now, you are probably saying "Hmm, this girl seems OK with this player, why only four stars?" Well, I'll tell you:
**The battery life leaves a little to be desired, but then, what can you expect from a tiny little AAA battery? I get about 8 hours of play per battery.
**The manual is...entertaining. It reads like an American imitating a Korean with bad English. Although, the player is so simple to use, you don't really even need the manual.
**It takes several seconds to turn on and off. I don't know if this is common with mp3 players, but all the graphics is goes through seems like a waste of time and energy. Maybe it's entertainment for you while it goes through some essential processes?
**Last, but not least, it doesn't do the dishes! You can imagine my disappointment when I found this out.

Summary: Good player - terrible manual
Review: This manual looks like it was translated from French by a computer. It is one of the most difficult manuals I have seen and about useless. Good thing I'm intuitive enough to set the player and the software up to use the player. It's a great size unit, good built-in memory, good quality sound, good FM reception for being out in the country.

Summary: MPIO is not work with Win XP
Review: After another four days of trying. I tried to work under Win 2000 and found out its great player but not under Win XP. I bought it because this company promise its MP3 player can work with XP no problem. I hope I can get help from [the manufacturer] but still no answer from them. Don't know thoese [others] use what PC OS system? Why my new gateway media center PC can't work? I tried it on win XP home edition and Pro edition all have problem to connect or recognize.

Summary: The Worst Instructions I've Ever (Tried to) Read...
Review: Okay, I admit to being something of a novice with this technology, but the instructions for this item are incredibly bad. Also, I should have read the product description more carefully because, to me, 128MB is completely useless. I want a unit that will contain 1,000's of songs...not merely 40. So, this one will be returned...promptly.

Summary: THE BEST PORTABLE MP3 PLAYER !!!!!
Review: Are you looking for a MP3 player? Look no futher, this is the one you are looking for! I just picked one up yesterday after reading all the reviews and I have to say that ALL of the postive reviews were right! This has got to be the best one out there. Straight out the box it was VERY easy to get started with a few simple instructions downloading music has never been easier. The MPIO FL100 has 128MB which means you can have 30 - 35 songs stored in the memory. The best thing is if you need more you just have to pick up a SM card for expansion. Like some other reviews it does say that there is 11 hours of playback time but it seems to be less but not by much. Very simple controls and the BRIGHT Indigo backlight is a major plus. If you are shopping around for a MP3 player (like I did) I am VERY satisfied with this purchase! Pick one up NOW!

Summary: Nothing is working so far
Review: I purched this model after reading all review. I thought I have lucky as all reviewers. But the true is I am the bad lucker. For three days I still can't get anything work. Can't download and modify any. Real One finally start to download but took me five minutes and tell me memory is full. Only download half song. I don't know what's wrong with my MPIO. I will keep trying and give it one star or zero star for now. Wondering who can help me out from here.

Review: I reluctently entered the mp3 fray, from the sublime performance of a 7k home stereo - after much research acknoledged the following features had to be delivered: 1) Firmware upgradable - iron out the bugs post purchase
2) Memory upgradable, so many players aren't (samsung yp55)
3) 85 db signal to noise ratio (minimum acceptable)
4) voice recorder (catch those enlightened moments, not!)
5) non skip (jogging / workout / makin woopy)
6) digital storage device (ipeg photos etc) Settled for the unkown (to australians)koreon digitalway mpio fl100, as it has all the features and good reviews on this forum. The final choice was the fl100, or the smaller square fd100 (longer battery life 20hours!), decided not to forfiet the superior screen size allowing ease of use. Great unit, recommended, the fruits of 50+ hours of research. Enjoy.

Review: Purchased the MPIO FL100 after considerable research and now am convinced I made the best choice for the money. Sound quality is superb. The MPIO has an innovative design and intuitive interface, plus FM, voice recording and secure digital expansion. I don't understand other reviewers complaints regarding sound -- sound quality is excellent with the supplied earbuds. My only complaint is that MPIO's makers should have had someone with better knowledge of the English language write their manual.

The mp3 player works well. Equalizer works okay. Size and footprint are great. Smaller than some pagers. Leather case is excellent. The software is easy to work with. The menu system on the player itself is easy to work with. SD card expansion slot is good. will be getting a 512 mb sd card for about 150 to augment the memory. what is not so good:
While the radio reception is great, the playback is so so. mp3 playback is a lot better. The earbuds are so so. Swapped them for a much better philips ear bud. The manual is fun to read :-(

Summary: Excellent player and excellent value! A few things though..
Review: I decideded to go with the FL100 after extensive research on other models for cost/value comparisons. I was not disapointed. The FL100 is a great little player, with a ton of cool features and accessories. Some extras I especially thought were nifty were the FM radio and built in microphone. *BUT* There are a few nitpicky things about this device. The first is that the (excellent) carrying case had its holes throught the plastic a little offset. The volume switch was partially covered. This was not a big deal, you just make the hole a little bigger, and bingo! Also, it might just be me being confused, but the on-board state machine design is kind of funny. You can get stuck in states sometime that you can't get out of. Like if you go into record mode, delete all the recordings, but then can't get back into player mode and access your songs unless you throw another recording on, so you can now have the ability to "skip" past it and get back to the music. Wierd, I know. A little inconvenient, but not too bad. Battery life could be a little longer too....11 hours is ok, but some other players were advertising around 30. And how about a recharge system? I didn't mind the software so much...better integration might be nice, but there's no problems with it. ... All in all, this is a fantastic player that I am extremely happy I picked up.
