Summary: excellent player
Review: This is a great player. I originally started with a Rio 800 and after buying and returning two because they were DEFECTIVE, i love this player!! I've had it for 2 days, and after I got a hang of the buttons, it's really great. I suggest that you price shop, i bought this a week ago... anyway, i think so far that this player is a great value for it's money, it's hard to find an upgradeable mp3 player with 128 mb for this great price. The software and the buttons on the player are little a tough, with the rio i didnt even need the manual, but 5 minutes of reading a manual rather than a month of unanswered phone calls from a company is worth it any day in my book.

Summary: Good product
Review: This is a great little player. I bring it everywhere I go and it serves its purpose. It feels like it is well built. I got a 128mb sm card to go with it which gives a total of 256 mb. I was able to get 96 songs on my player and card combined using Windows Media Player to compress it. That is about 9 hours of music!! The headphones are okay, but get uncomfortable after awhile. I have a good pair of Koss headphones and they sound great. I gave it four stars because I love the product, but the one I got was defective. It was easily replaced by Creative though and the new one works great!! Get this product if you are looking for a good inexpensive player.

Summary: The Perfect Starter MP3 Player
Review: This was my very first MP3 Player and after reading all of the reviews it was very hard to decide what one. I went with the Nomad IIc for its price, size and features. So far, I have not been disappointed at all. Except for the software it came with which is not user friendly. Stick with the Windows Media Player to download music. Sound quality is very good and the headphones are not too bad.

Summary: Great unit, but needs a driver update!
Review: This is a great MP3 unit and it is living up to all the great reviews I read about it before I purchased it. Great sound in a small package, and it is really simple to use. Here is the catch....You will need to look for the firmware update "PlayCenter3_02_52.exe". Why? The firmware that comes with the player is not updated, it is version 2.52.18-Retail, and it wont copy music, etc to the player unless it is version 2.8 or greater. This downloadable driver does the trick, but someone should have given us a heads-up.

Summary: Excellent for workouts
Review: After reading many customer reviews online, I finally decided to ask "santa" for this one... I have been highly impressed with all aspects. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to insert the SmartMedia 128MB card. Everyone else seems to have an easy time with this- but for some reason, it won't just 'slide in' properly. I wonder which way the card is supposed to go?

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I just orderd it and I think it's great!! The software is fairly easy to use and the songs transfer in seconds. The headphones that it comes with are good and the player is also prety durable. I was completely satisfied with this product and the low price makes it even better.

Summary: great value for the $$$
Review: This little MP3 player is the best value for the $$$! It has very good sound and when combined with a 128 MB smart media card it holds about 50-60 songs. It is sturdy and small enough to bring to the gym.

Summary: Best MP3 player available (without being a jukebox!)
Review: What can I say apart from WOW! This player is the best one on the market at the moment without being a jukebox. It's small size is one of it's best features, along with it's capacity and functionality. I have read several reviews about it and some people say they have had difficulty with the controls and functions on the player and also with the software (PlayCenter) - I have had no difficulty understanding any of it, I didn't even need to read the instructions it is so straight forward. I also bought a pair of Sony MDRV300 headphones which is a perfect marriage. Unbelievable bass and great treble, even high quality mid range with no distortion at all. Keep the player in a case because it can scratch easily!

Summary: Very Dissapointed
Review: I had this player for 5 days, and it just stopped working. When i put the batteries in, the backlight just stays on and nothing happens. I cannot hear any songs, and the whole thing just wont work. I got it to work for one day, and it worked great. I am sending it back immediatly. Don't buy this item!

Summary: So far so good!
Review: I've had it for a couple of hours now and no problems yet.

I bought this player because of the expandability, features, price, and other users good reviews. Compared to my old Nike PSA this thing is perfect. The only reason I didn't buy the Rio S50 was the customer service issues (hopefully they read this!). The other player I considered was the Iriver 256MB.

My first impressions are as follows:
-the overall features are great
-player is easy to operate
-I agree with some about the volume control needing to be just a little higher (maybe better headphones will help)
-the internal memory is holding 32 songs in 128kbps (I purchased the 128MB Smartmedia card as well)
-the included software (PlayCenter2)is not the most "user friendly" but is working fine with my WinXP. I prefer my Musicmatch, but I haven't figured out how to use it with this player yet.
