Summary: NOMAD IIc is here to stay
Review: NOMAD IIc is the best MP3 product aside from my TDK MOJO 640 MP3 CD Player. NOMAD replicates sound quality of the best CD players. With 128 Megabytes of Onboard memory and a 128 Meg card, this play will hold a few hours worth of music. Buy NiMH Batteries as soon as you can. Look for 1850 mAh, tripling the battery life compared to a normal battery (NiCAD, Alkaline, Lithium). The software is very good, aside from sorting. This is definately on product you must buy!

Summary: Sounds good for price, but so-so performance
Review: voice recordings easily overpowered, no in line mic option. erased all my files after one week, need to reformat memory software is so-so at best, too many steps to do simple things, not well organized Seems to work fine, except when it erased my files. Menu is ok, once you get used to it, but could be simpler. Sound seemed good

Review: I just got this player for my birthday a couple of days ago, so it hasn't endured to much abuse yet. It was so easy to use!This is my first mp3 player, and iwas aliitle worried about using it. Well let me tell you, this player is great for beginners. When I first started looking at players, I had my heart set on the Ipod. ithink I would've had a really hard time using all of those functions. Nomad IIc is simple, and it met all of my needs. it holds between 30 to 40 songs(mp3 format)and it is really easy to get rid of songs and add new ones. I highly reccomend this fine piece of equipment!=)

Summary: OK product, bad software
Review: Owned for 6 months. Good customer support until they agreed I needed an RMA # and then they stopped talking to me. Had to tweak them twice to get it. Received new unit after three weeks. Good sound and volume if encoded at higher rates. The 128MB expandability is good especially since the cards are finally getting cheaper. Not for the heavy exerciser who sweats a lot. The clip is almost useless except for walkers. When held in hand or against the skin the sweat gets into the player and shorts it. Good survivability. Dropped a couple of times with no subsequent problem. One potential problem is the battery cover. It is flimsy and does not stay on the player when changing the battery. There is a good chance of losing it, especially when dropping it because it flies off. The software is kludgy. It has a tendency of locking up my computer. There are some directories that were created by mistake that I can't get rid of. The good part about it is that it encodes MP3s and WMAs very quickly.

Summary: Excellent MP3 Player - Nomad IIc
Review: I am a Mac person and I discovered there are a limited number of MP3 players on the market for the Mac due to the popularity of the iPod. The Nomad IIc was a lot cheaper and even though it cannot hold as many songs, since there is no hard drive and no moving parts, you have skip-free music while exercising. I opted to purchase an optional 128MB SmartMedia card, which doubles your song storage. I was able to add 51 songs total with it configured with 256MB. In iTunes, it is simply plug and play, since this MP3 player is already supported in the software. Drag and drop the songs from your music library to the icon of the IIc and the songs download automatically. It works EXCELLENT! I consulted Consumer Reports before purchasing, which picked the Nomad IIc as the best choice for the money.

Summary: Not an Ipod, but a great player!
Review: This is my first MP3 player, but I have used others before
I just got this Mp3 player, and it was player my favorite tunes in just 5 minutes. I have to say, that the software is much easier than I though it would be, based on the reviews, but all you have to do to get songs on your player is to click on the song, and click transfer, and thats not hard at all!
Also, the headphones aren't that uncomfterble, if you wear them correctly.
The one thing that could improve is the belt clip, but that's not incredibly important to me, but it would have been nice with a better clip.
All in all this is a great beggining player, and well worth the money.

Summary: Almost a year and a half of abuse
Review: I am hard on electronic items. I drop them and don't treat them with care. The Nomad has held up fine to nearly a year and a half of wearing it to workout and walking around. The only problem that I had was with a malfunctioning SmartCard (had to buy another one as it got damaged). I bought a 128m SmartCard to add to the internal (64m at that time). Songs at 96kbs sound just as good as 128 so I can fit about 50-60 songs. I would recommend this player.

Summary: Small, good sound but flimsy construction.
Review: ... Recorded MP3 at 128kbps and sounded good with my ...Optimus headphones. Threw away the supplied headset. Didn't like the fit. With a second 128 mbps SmartMedia card, will play 4 hours of music. Single battery will last a little more than that period of time. Liked it at the beginning but 5 months after purchase, the thing made crackling noises and gave out. Doesn't play. The unit is flimsy in construction and the belt clip provided slips out very easily. I wanted a unit that would play MP3 for at least 4 hours so I can listen to it on flights from/to Hawaii and Washington. ...

Summary: good light-weight MP3 player
Review: I just got the 128MB Nomad IIc MP3 player 3 days ago, and it's so nice. The only problem I had was when I first put in the 1 AA battery (which came with the player), and the LCD backlights turned on, but nothing else. Frustrated that it was already broken before it started, I was about to return it to Amazon when I took out and re-inserted the battery. Now it works fine. The sound is incredible. I hear parts of the music I haven't heard before - even the crackle of poorly ripped MP3's. The earphones that come with it are fine, but after awhile, the top of my ears where it rests begin to hurt, and it's not that great to wear when working out. Only bad thing (and it's not THAT bad) is going from menu to menu. It's a bit slow, but you live with it. The size and weight makes it a perfect travel companion, whether it's running, biking, or working out.
