Summary: Nice player, but the flash memory can be corrupted.
Review: This is a really nice looking MP3 player. I run nearly every day, and find it to be very comfortable and to be easy to listen to as I work out. After seven days of use, I managed to corrupt the flash memory by disconnecting the USB cable while the computer was still running. At first, I had no idea what happened and thought that the player was dead. Fortunately, the Nike-Philips website provides detailed instructions on how to restore the flash memory. Anyway, I am back up and running, and am once again enjoying the music.

On the Music Match software, it seems to be decent but there are negatives. It is not as easy to use as the Windows Media Player, and it seems to use a proprietary file manager rather than taking advantage of the Windows operating system's built-in file management features. I copied about a 160 songs into the music library and so far have found two that got "mangled" during the copying process. So my impression is that the reliability of its copy functionality is less than stellar.

Summary: Unable to get downloaded songs to play
Review: I received this as a Mother's Day gift and was excited to get going and use it on my morning run. I downloaded the software, hooked up the unit and appeared to have downloaded about 30 songs onto it. After I finished, I saw the names of the songs scrolling across the unit so all appeared right with the world. Until I plugged the headphones in and tried to listen to the songs. I pressed the play button and got nothing. I also tried another pair of headphones just in case they were the problem, but it didn't help. ... Regardless, the unit didn't work with either version of Musicmatch.

Perhaps a working version of this unit would be a wonderful thing, ... There appear far too many problem units out there since many seem to be many others having the same or similar problems with it.

Summary: Coolest player on the market for runners
Review: Great player, no complaints. It is truly designed with the athlete in mind. Very comfortable and low profile armband. All of the other sport players, including the "sporty" RIO S35 all look like regular players clumsily stuck on an armband on an afterthought.

Summary: OK Sport Digital Player, but there are better alternatives
Review: I bought this player recently to have a dependable, durable digital audio player for working out or running. I was using a Sony MiniDisc Net MD player for the task, but was looking for something a little more "weather and exercise" resistant. I had to return the first psa 128 unit within a few days since it is pretty strict how you transfer music. I tried using a software other than the Music Match software (which is a horrible product in my mind) and the unit froze up. I replaced the unit and it worked decent as long as you follow the protocol to the T. Problems with the player: NO SHUFFLE (this is not good for working out since you sometimes want to mix things up), NO EXPANSION CAPABILITY (the 128 mb is plenty of capacity for a work out, but you get bored of 25-30 songs quickly and have to download more to the player), NO ABILITY TO JUST REMOVE ONE OR TWO SONGS FROM PLAYLIST (in order to add more songs to replace others, you have to erase the entire memory and re-format the player)...

Summary: Great for workouts
Review: I received this mp3 player last fall as a gift and have really enjoyed it. It holds around 2 hours of music at the highest recording quality. I can update the playlist on my computer whenever I want and the download time is pretty quick. It is really lightweight, and the armband makes it easy to keep out of the way both for cardio and weightlifting. I also find it is much easier to keep me in the gym now that I have motivational music to go along with my workout.

There were two negative aspects. The first, and this could be specific to the applications on my computer, was that setting up the program for the mp3 player to work with my Real Jukebox app was a real pain. It took a few attempts and a call or two to the helpline to get the darned thing working. Now that it is all in place though, it is really easy. The second was the headphones that come with the mp3 player. Some people really seem to like these, but I found them to be horribly uncomfortable, and they wouldn't stay in my ears. It was an easy fix though--just spent $ on a pair that I liked more. They might not match perfectly, but the comfort and convenience made it worthwhile.

Despite these two glitches, I still recommend this player--mine sees a lot of use!

Summary: Just doesn't work
Review: I was not able to get about 50% of my mp3's to play on this thing. Returned it twice to no avail. It just won't play certain mp3 songs, especially ones ripped with MusicMatch Jukebox which is a really bad sign. Anyway an mp3 is an mp3. It should have been able to play it if it played on my computer. If you converted the song to wma and then uploaded it, it played fine. I even tried sending one of the mp3's that it wouldn't play to a friend of mine with the 64mb version. It played fine on hers. I just don't get it, and neither did philips.

Summary: Could be much more...
Review: Expected more from Nike and Phillips. I am a medium runner, doin g about 30-miles a week. The head phone wire only lasted a couple months, then broke. The software has been a real problem. Locks up my computer and consumes CPU time.

However, while it worked, I really liked the size, weight and sound quality. Not too keen on the arm strap. I prefer a waist strap (fanny[pac]). Not sure how to convert. have been using a pocket in my shorts.

Could also use a roaming or shuffle feature to mix up the order. i found the unit could easily hold three albumns in the normal mode.

Summary: Runs well... and so do I!
Review: Picked it up about 6 months ago and it is the greatest SPORTS MP3! Does not budge from my sweaty arm and battery life is very good. Holds a solid 30-32 tracks...plenty for a healthy workout. Only improvement could be headset volume. Can't wait to see what the next level holds.

Summary: It was good while it lasted...
Review: When I first bought this player (about six months ago), I thought it was a fantastic piece of equipment - small, lightweight, and relatively easy to use. As an avid 30-50 mile/week runner, the armband was a godsend - I finally found an MP3 player that I didn't have to carry in my hand or stick in a pouch that bounced as I ran. That is, until about three weeks ago, when it suddenly died on me in the middle of a run. I thought that maybe my battery died, so I tried replacing it - no dice. I had all but given up on it, when suddenly it started working again. I discovered that it worked fine if I strapped it to my forearm or to the crossbar on a treadmill - I assumed that the pressure on the player was too great when I had it strapped to my bicep. All went well until today, when it died again (I had it strapped to my forearm). Perhaps too much sweat got inside the player, despite its supposed water resistance - I don't care at this point; this player was too expensive to die repeatedly after six months, and I can't afford to buy MP3 players as often as I purchase new running shoes. I'd recommend that others steer clear of this unreliable product.

Summary: Garbage
Review: Very poor piece of equipment. We purchased one and could never get it to work. We exchanged it for a new one and still, it wouldn't work. After loading the drives, my computer then began to act up. The directions are extrememly poor and the product, overall, is very poor. We will be exchanging it for an MP3 that works. We own another brand that is extremely easy to use.
