Summary: Garbage
Review: I bought two in the last 6 months, including one 4 days ago and they both died while I was out running. This thing has many glitches and clearly is not water-resistant. If Nike/Phillips can work out the problems, it is a good design and really helps your workouts, but I won't be buying again until they spend some more time on product development. Wait for sony to come out with a sports model mp3.

Summary: An Expensive Mistake
Review: I never even got a chance to exercise with it. First of all the product manual is on the CD (provided). Normally this wouldn't be a problem only it wouldn't open off the CD, and I had to go to the website to get the information. Secondly, I got to listen to a total of an hour of music before the player started to register "NO FILE". After many attempts to format, reinstall software, and replace batteries WINDOWS proclaimed "The disc could not be formatted."

Summary: I would give it no stars, but that's not an option
Review: I got this device as a Christmas gift, and here I am, seven months later, still trying to get it to function properly. I've actually had two PSA 128's. I didn't have any problems with the first one, until the display stopped working for no apparent reason after about two months of use. After about five hours on the phone with Philips and a month of waiting, my second PSA 128 arrived in the mail.

This second one has been a nightmare. At first, it was MusicMatch (the software used to make playlists, etc. for the device) that wouldn't run properly. After countless times of installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling with the help of a customer service rep, we finally got the software to work, only to find out that somehow the PSA's memory is corrupted. I have never been so frustrated with something in my whole life! If the PSA works, the software doesn't. If the software works, the PSA doesn't.

Two more grievances with this product: the manual comes on a CD-ROM, which is annoying when you just want a quick answer. Also, the headphones are awful. They're designed to hang down in back instead of going over the top of your head and cannot be adjusted. I don't know if I have a small head or what, but they are too big and won't even stay in my ears. I have to use a spare set from a different device.

This product has great potential, but its performance is too inconsistent to be worth the investment. Think long and hard before purchasing this guy.

Summary: A Mixed Feeling for [$$$].
Review: Well I recently got so tired of lugging around my walkman and decided it was time to invest in a more portable player to workout with.

I went to Best Buy and purchased the Nike PSA 128 after debating between it and the rio player. I wanted an mp3 player that would also include a radio, but from what i have read, the rio radio is awful, so i snagged this unit.

I have very mixed feelings about the product. First the good:

1) Very lightweight, barely noticed, especially on the excellent arm band
2)Songs don't skip at all, good quality sound as long as the mp3's are good quality.
3)Easy to add and remove songs once you understand software

Now the bad:

1) Only holds about 35 songs
2) Has no radio, which i already knew, but can be so frustrating to not have the option in a gym
3) Software can be somewhat difficult to fully understand at first. The cd rom manual leaves much to be desired
4) Order of songs is determined by how you make your playlist and add it to be downloaded. Kinda frustrating.

Ultimately, this player offers what it says it does. 128 MB of mp3 space. And it is very comfortable to workout in. I guess my only question is the obvious one. Is it worth paying [$$$] for a player that holds such few songs? A 15 GB IPOD is twice the money, but holds 2700 songs and can be used during workouts.

I'm sure by this christmas or next year these players will hold more songs and be more worth your dollar. But it is a nice investment, if only just very lacking.

Summary: Worst Headphones...Ever
Review: If I could rate this product a zero, beleive you me I would. The headphones don't fit right at all. Every few minutes I find myself adjusting them so I can hear the music.
The fact that they don't fit allow for outside noise to be heard very easily. It's been 2 days and I'v already called customer service 3 times with download problems. Apparently the battery disrupts the drivers?? Who needs this headache?
It seemed like a good idea to have an mp3 player with an armband but thats all it is, a good idea. To actually wear it is a different story. Can you say nerd?? Wearing this thing just doesnt feel right. A simple player that fits on your hip and has a simple interface, that can hold 40 plus songs, will go a long way then this marketing hunk o'junk.

Summary: Neat little gizmo with a few minor quirks
Review: This product is great (minus a few minor problems). Once you figure out how to get it to work with your computer anyway. I couldn't get how to make the software to work with the device and then the mp3 files on my computer. Luckily, the tech support is VERY good. I had to hold for awhile but once someone answered, they walked me through the process very well.

As for the functionality of this device, it's great for people who have active workouts (running, lifting, etc). I like wearing it on my arm because it's out of the way but you can still listen to your music without lugging around some bulky device. It holds about 35 (?) songs, which makes for a good variety, perfect for a long workout.

I only have two complaints about this device: first the earphones really are quite awful-they pop out and the plastic rims around the headphones fall off. Second, (and perhaps this is a personal issue?!?!), I wish that the software was easier to use. I consider myself pretty tech-savvy and it's very hard to figure out how the hell to take music off of the thing and put something else on. In fact, I've given up on the whole ordeal for now (until I have a few hours to devote to figuring this out), so I guess I'll be listening to that damn 50 cent song for my next few workouts!

Summary: cool
Review: If you like running, and like to control the music you listen to when you run, then buy this rather than the radios which look like it. Its not hard to install, the golden rule being install the music match jukebox AND the required drivers BEFORE connecting the player to your computer.
THe 'amazing' wire management system which uses magnets is however not all that amazing, and i use my player without the remote control. However, it doesnt have the ability to play music in random order which is also a drawback, but these are all minor issues, if youre a workout freak/runner who likes his/her metallica/(your favorite group goes here), then this makes perfect sense. Look around, i got mine really cheap on amazon.... You might find a bargain too!

Summary: Really cool!!!!
Review: I bought this on amazon and got a really good deal on it. I tried installing it no a machine running windows xp with no success, and then frustrated tried installing it on a machine running windows 2000. It was up and running in 5 mins on the windows 2000 machine.
It looks good, and is perfect for the jogger. However, the "wire management system" using magnets is 'interesting', but was harder to figure out than the installation. Ofcourse the skimpy paper instructions didnt help(a more complete users manual is on the CD which comes with it).
Most installation problems are addressed on the nike-philips website.
Overall, a good buy. Its not the iPOD, and doesnt promise to be, but lives up to expectations.

Summary: Nike 128max MP3 player
Review: If you are into cute looking products then definetly get this. But if you want something that is not a headache everytime you want to download songs then don't get this player. Everytime that you want to download songs it is an absolute headache with a capital H. I have had to call the 1-800 number at least 5 times to download songs. It is not worth the price that it costs.

Summary: Good MP3 but ...
Review: This MP3 is small, light and great for use when working out. The buttons are easy to find by feel and it's nice that the unit is all one piece.

It runs on 1 AAA battery which recharges in about 4 hours. TIP: Buy extra batteries - the charger will hold 3. Software install and usage was difficult at first which was a common complaint on chat boards. The MP3 does not have a random play feature so you may need to mix your play list before downloading.
