Summary: good product, while it lasts
Review: This was my first MP3 player and at first it was great. It is lightweight, great for the gym, relatively inexpensive, good battery life, w/enough memory for a couple hours worth of music. Downloading was a little cumbersome, but the interface was pretty easy to use.

Unfortunately, despite excellent care (never dropped it, didn't beat it up at all), it up and died after only 9 months of use. The control buttons appear to be stuck in the depressed position and no amount of fussing or battery changing will get it to turn on or respond to commands. The warranty was only 90 or 30 days - can't recall exactly - but in either case had long since passed when the unit self-destructed.

Summary: One of the best!
Review: I got this product last week and I LOVE it! I didn't have any problems and it was easy to use. If you want a good portable and small mp3 player... BUY THIS! The software is incredibly easy to use... drag and drop. 9 of 10!

Summary: Good little MP3
Review: I've had mine for about a year now, and it works great -- I've never had any problems except for the battery occasionally falling out. Buy rechargable AA batteries - you'll need them. If you dont mind the 128mb memory, this little guy is great!

Summary: good but could be better
Review: Pros: record off radio, small and lightweight (almost to lightweight, i walked through airport security with it in my pocket because i didnt realize it was in there), green backlight so u can c in the dark

Cons: needs more memory, copying music from computer is hard

very good mp3 player

Summary: Great size, easy to use, poor battery door engineering
Review: I love the size of this player. It's great for when I run because I can fit the player,my cell phone and car keys in my tune belt and not know they're there. Since I've never used another mp3 player I can't say whether it's easier or more difficult to use than others. But I found it pretty easy and intuitive to load w/ the drop and drag software. I also like the variety of ways you can shuffle the tracks - within the entire player or just within a folder. This allows me to shuffle differently when I work out (all upbeat tunes) than if I just want to listen while on a plane (a nice mix, perhaps).

The biggest drawback I've found w/ the player is the battery door comes open at times when the player's bouncing in my tune belt. Of course, then I have to stop running and mess w/ the player to get the battery back in and door closed. It doesn't happen every time I run so I would call this a minor drawback, but annoying nonetheless. The compact size makes up for the inconvenience since it doesn't happen every time I use the player.

Summary: Compact, light, but software, controls could be better
Review: Just received this. This little thing has a lot of features. FM radio with 20 presets, equalizer, the playlists, record from voice and of course accordingly the manual is very long. I read only a few pages of it just to figure out the basics. I concur with other reviewers, the battery lid is flimsy. The sound with the given headphones are good but you will probably want to use other ones for comfort reasons. Too few buttons and too many features really. I'm sure once I get used to it, it will be fine but it will probably take a while. Expensive accessories seem only available on the iriver website (armband custom fit to hold the player is pricey on their site).

Pros:
Small
lightweight
Feature packed

Cons:
Too few buttons with those great features
flimsy feel to player

Summary: it'z okay~
Review: I bought this player 6 months ago and now I have to buy a new one. Something is wrong with it mechanically...and it won't play anymore. It worked yesterday, so I don't know what could have happened. The player is very light and you will be sure to get lots of stares. The sound is great and the earbuds are satisfactory. The battery keeps falling out though, but it'z nothing a little piece of duct tape can't fix. The program is also very easy to use~ I would buy this player again.

Summary: Highly Recommended
Review: Like the majority of the others who reviewed this item, I have no regrets about purchasing this player. It is small, light and appears to be sturdy. I dropped it once while running and it suffered no ill effects. The battery longevity is more than satisfactory.
However,I will list the following complaints in case they are of importance to a potential buyer.
1. I live in an area of great FM reception, but while this player performs well in mono, the stereo reception is spotty at best, especially if you are mobile while listening (for me, a major drawback, but not a deal breaker).
2. I would prefer an AM band on the radio as well as FM.
3. I am a tall person and I would have liked the earphone wire to be longer.
4. Navigating the menus is a bit complicated and the tiny screen is impossible to read without my reading glasses in most instances (a bit difficult to do while running).
But all in all, a nifty little gadget!

Summary: Love the iRiver mp3 player
Review: Great mp3 player. Lots of features. Very good sound, equalizer,back-lit display, long battery life. Voice recorder is good too. Takes a couple of days to get used to navigating the controls. Overall I love it.
