Summary: Worst MP3 player
Review: I bought this MP3 player thinking I was getting everything in one device..FM stereo and MP3 player. I was WRONG. This player has the worst user interface of any electronic device I have purchased. The thing defaults to voice recording and the FM tuner has terrible reception. I can not pick up any stations. I want a refund...this is the WORST MP3 player I have ever owned. I would not recommend this player to anyone. Save your money...

Summary: Good Value- Works great, sounds great, small & light.
Review: I definitely recommend this MP3 player. I researched purchasing MP3 players for months before deciding to buy this one.

I work out very hard, and I wanted a MP3 player that I could wear while working out, and this is it. I don't wear it around my neck though, but rather use a safety pin and pin it to my waist band of my shorts. I can run full out with out it bouncing around or getting in the way. I can lift without it getting in my way.

I would have given it 5 stars, but the capacity is not quite big enough. I can fit 25 MP3 songs on it, and it is sufficient, but I would prefer more. If I could go back and do it over, I would buy the IRIVER 256.

Summary: limited capacity but works great
Review: The 128 mb player is somewhat small in stature, but it packs alot of features. The sound is high quality. The screen is small but easy to read. The controls are fairly intuitive (I have never had to read the manual) The fm radio gets very good reception. The voice recorder is a really nice feature, but the sound is muffled unless you talk directly into the mic. The single AA battery lasts almost forever. The player will fit any one cd in it's memory and two smaller cd's. The software works well, except I am unable to transfer mp3's from the player to the hard-drive. I was able to transfer voice recordings to the hard drive. This player also works as a 128 mb storage device. I probably should give it 5 starts for it's many uses, but I gave it four just because of the size.

Summary: This product is a disgrace.
Review: After owning two MP3 players (one from Creative, one from Diamond), I bought this one because I wanted a single device that combined MP3 playback, FM radio, and voice recording.

The sound quality for MP3 playback seems better than it was with either of my previous players. But that is all that I can say for it.

The design of this product is execrable -- a disgrace in almost every imaginable way. The battery cover is flimsy and pops open with ease. Batteries, however, are difficult to remove once inserted without vigorous shaking. The USB cable provided is not standard -- the end that plugs into the iRiver itself is proprietary, which means that you can't simply use any USB cable you have lying around, and if you lose the one that they give you, you're in trouble. (Users of the old Diamond Rio players will remember this problem.)

But special contempt must be reserved for the device's controls. I own many electronic devices and have never seen another with so poorly constructed a user interface. It is not the quantity of buttons that troubles me, but the need to do different things with the same buttons to reach different menus. (E.g., press this button for a short time to reach menu A, for a long time to reach menu B, and push it to the left to reach menu C.) One of the buttons -- the "hold" button -- is not sufficiently labeled; there is no obvious way to tell whether it is in the on position or the off.

There are other problems, though these may be matters of personal taste: there is too much bright chrome on this player for my liking, and there is no belt clip. While these criticims shouldn't be dispositive, I hope that the others are. I don't think that I am hard to please -- I've been reasonably pleased by my other MP3 players, and never would have thought of writing a critical review of either of them. But a company that markets a product like this deserves to go out of business.

of course.....if you want more than about 40 songs on it, go for a model with more space

Summary: Great product....IF it works
Review: Bought the iRiver over Christmas after doing due diligence (reading reviews, comparing products etc.) since it seemed to have the most features in its price range. An absolute value for money. Tried it out and the piece worked great....for the first hour. It died and unfortunately could not be revived even after replacing the new batteries that came with it. Couldn't figure out what happened! The memories of that first hour were mostly good; the controls took a bit of getting used to, the software interface was nice and the sound was awesome. Unfortunately, had to send it back....what good is an mp3 player that doesn't work!

Summary: EXCELLENT product for the price!
Review: I recently bought an Iriver IFP-180t because my old Samsung Yepp was growing old. I did my shopping around and found this mp3 player to have the best storage, features, and price for what i was looking for. I have to say, the Iriver is amazing. First of all, the sound quality is excellent compred to the last mp3 plaer i had. I was also amazed that the Earbuds that came with the player was made by Sennheiser, a very good headphone maker. i am usually dissapointed with the earbuds that come with a mp3 player, but I was again amazed with the overall quality of the sound, especially the bass.(the IFP-180t comes with many EQ settings, including a user EQ mode where you can set it yourself)
On the player, there are TONS of setting you can change. The battery life on this player is excellent too.(considering it runs off of 1 AA battery) Ive ben using this for about 1 hour every day for about a week now and the battery meter says that i still have about 75% left.(my other player would need its batteries after about 8hrs of use).

many other reviews on this site say that the battery case is very poorly designed. i havent had it pop out yet, but it is made of cheap plastic so it looks like it could after alot of opening and closing. don't let this discourage you, putting a piece of tape on the door helps keep the battery door sealed tighter.

The Fm Tuner Quality is also excellent. the reception is very good for a little player like this one. This player also has a feature that lets you record the FM sound directly to your player. it's great for rcording a song you hear on the radio. I havent tried the voice recording yet, but i predict it will be of very good quality.

overall, i approve of this product. This player has the best features, storage and sound quality for the price they sell it at. I would reccomend buying this mp3 player anyday.

Summary: I can not make it work
Review: I bought this thing a week ago and since then I've been trying to figure out how to record music. I tried several paid services, but all of them code their songs so I can not play the songs on my machine. It anybody told me from where and how I can record music I would appreciate it very much. akrapivin@hotmail.com

Summary: Not Pefect But Okay....
Review: I have used this player for about a month now and so far have been happy with it. It's small and lightweight. The coolest feature is you can record from its FM radio (don't expect super high quality though.) That way, if you hear a new song that you really like, you will be able to listen to it over and over again and find more information about it later on.

However, things can be improved:
1) 128MB is just not enough for me. With all the holiday specials going on now, you can probably get a 512MB by paying only twice as much.

2) It's small but odd shaped. It's uncomfortable when you put it in your jean pocket because you cannot lay it flat. You can of course hang it on the neck but the provided neck trap is made of plastic and the plastiky smell makes my nauseous.

3) There are total 5 buttons/switches. It's difficult to remember how to use all the functions because you have to long click this button after short clicking that button. But again, you will probably being using the same features after awhile and never touch other ones.
