Summary: Convenient and Intuitive
Review: This mp3 player has a great design in both usability and looks. There are a few points that did bother me. The latch to hold the battery is flimsy and I've already lost one battery while walking down the street. The necklace type design is convenient for walking but this device is not easy to run with. The FM tuner is nice but the reception isn't great. Although the USB is still 1.1, the transfer time is acceptable and the computer interface is fairly intuitive.

Review: I bought one of these and ended up returning it in favor of the Yepp Yp-55. In essence, both have the same features, but I originally leaned toward this one because it actually included decent headphones (rare in any portable). The only problem (and one not mentioned anywhere on the packaging) is the fact that you *have* to use the included program to transfer files back and forth between the player and computer. The player will not accept files encoded using another program, nor does it act as a simple removable drive. Not too convenient, especially for those of us who use other operating systems and better encoding software. That said, sound was decent, although the included 'phones are still sub-par, and the controls were somewhat intuitive after a short learning curve. The big sticking-point for me, though, was being chained to iRiver's software to use this device. The Yepp had no such problems, so I've gone with it and been very happy.

Summary: iRiver of Dreams
Review: If you are looking for a MP3 player, there is no reason to look any further than iRiver's iFP-190T 256 MB Digital Audio Player. The unit has a lot going for it: small size, lightweight but durable, impressive battery life, more than enough MB than could possibly be listened to in one session, and most importantly great sound quality. I bought the 190T for working out at the gym - and unfortunately for me more people have asked me about the MP3 player than muscles! With all the clunky CD players being toted around the gym floor, it is no wonder that this piece of electronic equipment, the size of a pack of chewing gum, has attracted all the attention - and how many of those CD players are holding more than 60 songs? The software to transfer files from your PC is easy to use and understand. With surface space being a premium on the unit, it takes a little trial-and-error to master the multiple uses of the four major buttons - but the basics (turning on/off, shuffle, repeat, switching between MP3/radio) are quite easy to pick up. Personally, I have had no issues with the earbuds and usually wear the unit with the provided necklace. If the activity is high/not conducive for around-the-neck wear, the player easily slips into a pocket (an armband holder is offered as a separate accessory on the company website, a recommended visit also for the latest software and firmware). The FM-tuner is a great addition, while the voice recorder may be another added feature of interest (not something I was personally looking for). My one tiny qualm is the unexpected ease one can record from the FM tuner (the button to switch between MP3/FM mode is the same one to record from the radio). Why this is even a feature I am not sure - has anyone recorded from the radio since the 1970s? Overall a great gadget - give yourself a reason to go out and buy one!

Summary: AMAZING FOR ITS SMALL SIZE!
Review: I used several different MP3 players before I found this gem. The first thing I noticed was how extremely small and light it is. I am very impressed that they fit 256MB in such a small design. The sound, on the other hand, is anything but small. Big, boomin' bass and very clear in the mid-ranges and upper levels. The radio and voice recorder are both also very clear. I even use my player to transfer files between home and work. Simply the best!

Summary: Very, very good........BUT!
Review: This is a very good mp3 player. In the top 3. However, you can get the Digitalway MPIO FL100, which has the followong features over the iRiver: 1) The FL100 has a slimer design, lighter, and rectangle shaped (it fits in your pocket better than the triangle shaped iRiver.) 2) Mac compatable. If you have an Apple computer, the FL100 is compatable unlike it's iRiver cousin. 3) The FL100 has plug-ins for Windows Media Player and Real One Player, as well as it's own software, so you don't have to use the companys own software if you don't want to for transferring MP3's to your player. 4) And, probably the most important, the FL100 is EXPANDABLE. The iRiver is not. That means that if you ever want more music, you can buy a SD card and expand your mp3 player, rather than shelling out more money for a new one. Also you can pack multiple cards so your expansion potential is endless. 5. Price! As of right now, the 190t is $$$$and the 256 MB FL100 is $$$$$. Don't get me wrong, the iRiver is very good..... however, if you want an mp3 player that will last longer, is more stylish and is filled with bells and whistles, go for the FL100.

Summary: Good at first until dropped
Review: The menu is unbelievable. Having 4 lines of text display you always know what is going on. All the buttons are easy to use and the menu options are numerous. This was no doubt the best mp3/wma player ever. You can make folders within the player. I created a folder for every album I had on the player so you could just change album folders instead of cycling through tons of songs. But I dropped mine and the battery compartment door broke. Then it slipped again and the navigation button got destroyed. My friend also had one and the on button quit working because he used it too much. If you want a great player go to iriver.com and look at the new designs they seem to be more rugged but with the same button design so your on button might quit working if you use it too much.

Summary: Packs a punch without draining your wallet
Review: I have been pleasantly surprised by this MP3 player. Overall, the price is great for the quality and durability. The buttons are easy to use, the music and options are easy to manage, and the software that accompanies the player is simple (although not flashy). Loading songs onto the player is very painless, and it takes only a few minutes to load an entire CD. You will be listening to music within 30 minutes of pulling it out of the package. The main problems with this MP3 player stem from two words: up to. The packaging suggests that a single AA battery will last "up to" 24 hours! In my experience, the lasting power of a brand-new Duracell is closer to 10 or 12 hours. That easily beats the playing time you get out of batteries in a traditional portable CD player, but it's not quite what I expected. The manufacturer also claims that the player will hold "up to" 8 hours of music. My player is currently full with only about 4 hours worth of MP3s. That's a decent amount of music, but not as much as I had hoped.
Another consideration is that this player's memory cannot be expanded. You're fixed at 256 MB. Other brands have expandable memory. They are generally more expensive, but may be worth the price if you plan on adding additional capacity in the future. On the upside, the player includes an FM tuner, and a microphone so you can make voice recordings, which can be uploaded onto your PC. If you're looking for a solid MP3 player for a good price with a good amount of memory, this fits the bill. Definitely a great buy for anyone looking to make their music collection portable.

Summary: The best super-mini player
Review: Ok, so this one is a little more expensive than others and the download software is rudimentary as best. But still five stars: 1) the unit is solid. I've dropped it a couple times; no issues.
2) it actually works as advertised. I've used mine for probably 1.5 hrs x 6 days x 11 weeks with no issues at all. compare this to the muvo... my muvo stopped working after 3 hours.
3) it is easy enough to navigate, which is hard for a unit this size. the buttons make sense and the little screen works.
4) it sounds great (to this untrained audiophile) with WMAs recorded at 96k.
5) did I mention that it actually works and my muvo didn't?

Summary: Good stuff
Review: It has a great sound and it's so little that you can take it anywhere with you. Too bad is only 256 Megs but, in a way it's all I need. I find it really usefull everytime I do the lawn at my house, ride my bike and also in the car with the tape car adapter that I had (too bad this didn't come with it, it would off be really usefull).
