Description:

The Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 5000GN laser printer is ideal for offices needing a high-quality medium-capacity printer. It offers 1,200 dpi resolution, 12 MB RAM (expandable to 100 MB), automatic network switching, three paper trays, and an option for a hard disk of 1 GB or more.

The 5000GN's standard input capacity and support for a variety of media sizes, from 3-by-5-inch to full-bleed 11-by-17-inch images, simplify complex jobs. Three paper trays support the 5000GN's impressive input capacity of 850 sheets (1,100 with an optional fourth tray) and 300-sheet output. It prints on a full range of media, including professional stationary, envelopes (No. 10 and Monarch), transparencies, and labels. An optional duplexer lets you save paper by printing on both sides of the page.

The HP 5000GN is compatible with Windows and Macintosh. It has interfaces for IEEE 1284-compliant bidirectional parallel, RS-232 9-pin serial, 2 PCI-based EIO slots, and HP JetDirect card for Ethernet/LocalTalk in 1 slot; and it supports network switching. An option is available for HP JetDirect internal print servers.

To ensure compatibility with both PC and Macintosh files, the LaserJet 5000GN includes a variety of print languages--HP PCL 5e, HP PCL 6, and PostScript Level 2 emulation. Drivers are included for Windows 95, 98, NT 4.x; IBM OS/2 Warp; MS-DOS; HP-UX, and Solaris. Overall, the HP 5000GN's easy connectivity, manageability, and medium-capacity throughput make this printer a most welcome addition to your small but growing networked team.

The printer is backed by HP Customer Care for full-service support, including troubleshooting tools and phone support.
