Summary: Great cheap printer
Review: Based on all the great reviews, I went ahead and bought this product. I must say it's quite impressive. It's fast, it's small, and it's not as loud as people say, but I have it in another room so I'm not as affected as someone who has it right next to them. The one complaint I have is that there is no way to do duplex printing. The driver allows you to print even and odd pages, but I would prefer the printer manage that aspect of it. And the error light indicators are just way simplified - more detail would have been good. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Summary: Great deal [...]!
Review: I've owned the ML-1210 for approx 2 months now and love it! I fell into the inkjet trap for too many years and spent a fortune on inkjet cartridges, only to watch the ink levels literally drop before my eyes...I used to eek out just a 100-200 hundred pages (if that!) of mediocre, mostly B&W prints from an inkjet cartridge. This Samsung printer has great print quality, remarkable speed and seems to print forever from the same toner cartridge. I'm ordering a backup cartridege just to be safe, but it looks like I'll go nearly 1000 pages on the included starter cartridge! The Toner Save feature is really good and produces a good, very readable print...I simply turn off the Save feature for finish copies. The last page reprint is a life saver, too. I haven't tried the multipage print thus far. I'd buy another if I needed another printer...his baby is an HP-killer. Oh, by the way, I still have my inkjet on line with my PC for an occasional color copy, however, never a B&W page will she print again.

Summary: Disappointed Web Page/Color Text Output
Review: Although the Samsung ML-1210 prints BLACK text very well (such as a typical word processor documents), it does not print COLORED text at all well. (Yes, I understand that the ML-1210 is a monochrome laser printer.) The ML-1210 prints colored text as gray-scale, and certain colors are VERY HARD TO READ (cyan, yellow, etc.) Printing out web pages that contain various colored text (and graphics) results in virtually blank areas of the page. At least HP provides a "Print colored text as black" option; Samsung does not. I have tried everything that I can think of to improve the quality of the output; nothings seems to help. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the lack of support Samsung provides for this printer. I cannot find any references to this problem either in the printer manual or on the internet including Samsung's website (which is formidable to access without a high speed internet connection!!!) The Samsung printer FAQs are useless. Samsung offers a win_9X driver, but the install is BAFFLING!!! It merely unzips 9 files (4 of which are HIDDEN) into the Windows TEMP directory!!! I hardly think that is an apprpriate place for drivers. There is no executable file to complete the install. There is NO printer driver install help. BEWARE OF THIS ISSUE IF YOU DESIRE TO PRINT COLORED TEXT INCLUDING DOCUMENTS WITH WEB LINKS OR EMAIL ADDRESSES.

Summary: Samsung Laser Printer - Great quality for the price!
Review: I just received my Samsung ML-1210 laser printer and I am VERY impressed with the overall quality. It was simple to set up, although I had a problem getting it to work with a USB hookup. The parallel hookup works fine. I love that it's so compact and can sit on my bookshelf, very quiet and prints out quickly. I will keep my inkjet printer for graphics, but for text, this laser printer can't be beat for the value!

Summary: Solid product from relative unknown
Review: OK - I agree with all the reviews on here. This is a GREAT printer for the price. I don't give it 5 stars because for some reason, I can't seem to get the paper to line up correctly and the printouts are a bit skewed 10-20% of the time. Nothing terribly noticible, but just a perception thing I guess. It a great job, tho it is a bit noisy but definately acceptable. What is missing is a power save mode - it's on all the time. Also, a duplex function as part of the driver function would be great. The 2-up feature almost makes up for it but I like to duplex to save on paper. Oh well - I guess more scrap paper for the kids to color on!

Summary: Excellent Printer for the Money!!
Review: I was trying to decide between a new color printer and a laser printer. I realized that I really don't need to print in color an most of my work would be just word processing. So I decided to take a look at the Samsung printer after a recommendation from a friend.

I've had the printer for 2 months now with zero problems or complaints. The quality and speed of this printer is exceptional. Setup was very easy and the options are everything I need.

The great thing about buying the printer now is a free toner/ink cartridge. Don't waste your time with overpriced HP laser printers. This one works allot better than the HPs I have at work for half the price.

Summary: Plug and Print! It was that easy
Review: After opening the box it was installed and printing in 5 minutes. Never before have I had been so happy with the ease of setup for a printer. You may think 600 DPI is old hat but the ML1210 prints clean and crisp. Small footprint and quick power up from sleep AND toner saving mode make this an ideal entry level laser printer. Good bang for your bucks!

Summary: Great Printer Under Linux but...
Review: This is a fantastic laser printer. For what I paid, it is amazing! The catch is that I'm running it under Debian Linux. Samsung claims that the printer is supported under Linux, but if you read the comments ... , you will find this to be a half-truth. (I listened to the advertising and didn't check the web first.) In the end, it is possible to configure the printer to run properly under linux, but it is a challenge. The web site has help on doing the configurations. Other than this, the printer has been great!

Summary: An Excellent Printer, but not for Mac OS 10.1
Review: The ML1210's printing is crisp and sharp. The unit is quiet and has a small footprint. I wish I could have kept it, but, despite what SamsungUSA.com has posted -- albeit a beta driver -- this unit will not work with Mac OS 10.1 or in Classic mode in 10.1; it will, however, do you well under 9.2, at least.

For the price, it's an excellent printer; HP and others ought to look in their rear-view mirror, because Samsung is catching up fast. Unfortunately for me -- and my project's timeline -- I could not afford for them to update their drivers.

Summary: Great printer at a great price!
Review: I just received this printer a week or so ago and so far everything has been great. Setup with Windows ME was a breeze, I had it up and running in about 10 minutes. Print is sharp and clear and quick. It's small footprint really helped as my desk is crowded with a ton of computer equipment. I researched laser printers for a few months, trying to decide what to buy and how much I wanted to spend. I was trying to decide between this one and a Brother laser which was twice the price of the Samsung. I am glad I went with this one, I am very happy with it. The only downer is that you have to print out the manual yourself (which is becoming more and more the norm with computer products purchased these days) and the USB cable isn't included. But with the money you save compared with other laser printers, this is really no big deal. This is a great product, if your thinking of buying a laser printer, give this one a try. I am very happy with it.
