Summary: PERFECT!
Review: I just got mine in the mail and set it up in 5 minutes! With Windows XP, just plug it in via USB, and it automaticly does everything for you, it couldn't be easier, I didn't even have to put in the CD nor read the instructions. Its quiet, fast, and its tiny, I can't believe how great this product is...really. I'm a college student at UC Irvine and its perfect for me, I think that this'll be the last printer i'll buy for a very very long time. Buy one before they run out, you won't be dissapointed. ...this printer is fool proof, unless you have some weird circumstance like a 10 year old computer or a mac or something. haha.

Summary: Like a rock - another happy (Linux) user
Review: I'm using my ML-1210 with a PC that dual boots Linux and Windows. This printer has been perfect - inexpensive, solid, flawless output, flawless paper handling, fast, perfect installs on both Linux (recent Mandrake) and Windows.

Summary: excellent home network printer
Review: Been using ML-1210 for four months and I am completely satisfied with it. The printer is IEEE-1284 compliance so it's a perfect match with D-link DI-713P router. Four PCs, three (Windows ME, Linux, and Windows XP) on LAN and one on WLAN (Windows 2000) uses the printer through the router. They all work together flawlessly.

Summary: Way to go Samsung!
Review: ...The reason why I took a star out and gave only 4... When I put an envelop in the envelop tray, it always comes out crooked. Somehow the printer rolls two sides at different speeds (or something is crooked inside) and the envelop does not come out straight. The result - skewed addresses and lines. The regular paper tray doesn have this problem so I use it instead of the envelop tray (minor annoyance). Maybe it's just mine....

Summary: Inexpensive Printer that really delivers
Review: In short, this printer is everything that you could want in a SOHO environment. It is extremely quiet, attractive, has very good printout, and saves you money. Bottom Line. Installation is extremely easy. Just pull the tape off the sides, insert toner, plug it in and go.

The only negative reviews this printer gets is when printing graphics and colored web text. If you are going to print a lot of detailed graphics, I would not recommend this printer (not that the output is that bad).

However, to print out crisp web-text, just:
1) Copy and paste all the text from the pages into Word (or your favorite text editor)
2) Get it arranged like you want it
3) Push Ctrl+A (to select all of the text)
4) Goto Format, Font and set the Font Color option to black.

This will make all of the web-text come out crisp and clear (even on toner-save mode).

I highly recommend this printer.

Summary: Not as easy to use as it should be.
Review: 1. It won't work with DOS, so beware of the type of software you'll be using it on. Our payroll company didn't tell us that they were using DOS in their software.

2. I could never get it to print to LPT1 with just a parallel cable even after disabling my USB hookups under the setup and in the control panel.

3. If an Excel spreadsheet is too complicated (even without color), it will freeze up.

After finding these things out, I wound up paying [$$'s] to return the printer. That's the price of the toner, including tax.

Summary: Beware
Review: The Samsung ML-1210 prints ok...when it prints. An error message kept coming up saying I was out of paper. What a hassle. Spend more and get better quality. Their service phone line kept me on hold and then cut off the call. I tried again and was on hold for an hour only to be told "goodbye." Their web site is primitive and hard to navigate using email with messages disappearing off the screen. And can they get someone to write in ENGLISH on their Website?????

Summary: So far, so good. Can't beat the price!
Review: Gone are the days of expensive laser printers! If you are in the market for a laser printer which won't cost an arm and a leg, consider this one from Samsung. I will save you the trouble of going to the library - this printer gets great reviews in the 2002 Consumer Reports Buyer's Guide. Personally, I have had no problems with it so far. The printer is great for small desks, since it is very compact; the base is about a foot by a foot. A common problem with laser printers is that they take 5 minutes to "warm up." Not this one! It takes only 30 seconds. Prints quickly and clearly. Some people have noted that light webtext doesn't come out clearly - just set your print setting to "dark", and that problem will be solved. Although I generally print only a few pages per week, I imagine this printer can handle a much more heavy workload. Sure, you can get a simple inkjet printer for a third of the price, but the text smudges and fades overtime. If you need high quality color pictures, the inkjet you'll buy will cost the same as this laser anyway. So, if you just need a reliable, quick printer, and black-and-white will do, I suggest you go with this one - you can't beat the price!

Summary: This Printer Rocks!
Review: I had a laser printer for about 5 years and had so many problems with it. Finally I was sick of dealing with messy toner cartridges, paper jams, etc., so I asked my brother to find me a good deal on a good qualitity printer. I'm in grad school, so I don't have a lot of money and I need a printer that can handle high quantity. He found this Samsung printer on Amazon and felt it was a good deal. I am SOOOO happy with it! It was easy as cake to set up (and it usually takes me HOURS to figure these kinds of things out), it prints beautifully, and it's fast. I would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone looking for a great deal on a great printer!

Summary: Boo :(
Review: I'm on my second ML-1210 printer, still can't get it to work with my laptop (a weird old Compaq Armada 7362DMT). Send a print job to the computer and the "Data" light blinks for a minute and nothing happens. When I couldn't get the first unit to print, I called Samsung's support line. After waiting forever to get through to a technician, after some cursory troubleshooting (most of which I'd done already myself...) the tech recommended that I go to the Lexmark (!) Web site and download a driver because apparently their drivers work better than Samsung's! Well, that didn't work either, and the technician had already hurredly got off the line and told me to call back later (great).

Still can't get the second one to work with my computer, so I'm going to take the printer to work and try it with a computer there to see if there's any life in it at all. My laptop works fine with every other printer I've plugged it into.

Definitely would not recommend as now I've tied up [money] and still can't print a page from my computer, and Samsung's support folks can't seem to help.
