Rating: Summary: Can't beat it for the price Review: I've been an inkjet user for years, and was only tempted to buy this because it was discontinued and on clearance for a ridiculously low price. Now that I've been using it for six months, I'm a believer. If you print a lot of text at home, this is the best deal around. It's crisp, fast and quiet, and the output is just as good as any laser printer I've tried. I can't see any degradation even on the 'toner save' setting. My inkjet's been relegated to the back of the closet, to come out only on rare occasions when I need to print something in color. This laser printer is faster, easier to use, and its text looks a hundred percent better than an inkjet's. A little toner goes a long way with the toner save feature, making the per-page cost much less than it used to be. I haven't needed to replace the mini-drum that came with the printer yet, and I've been using it steadily for six months. What's not to love? Go find whatever model they've replaced this with and snap it up.
Rating: Summary: My pick for home laser printer Review: I've been using the ML1210 for quite some time, some 700 sheets later no problems to report yet (that's 700 sheets on the toner cartridge that came with it). I keep the toner saver on all the time or a quick press of a clearly lit button turns it off as needed. For 10pt or larger text hard to tell the difference. It hadles thick rough paper, good copier, and labels all well. Though the bypass feed for envelopes does tend to make them go sideways a bit. If you MUST constantly swap paper and envelopes it not the best pick. If USB connected and printing out simple documents it really does keep up with 10-12 pages a minute. The lights on front are clear, setup is a breeze. One nice point, a new catridge give a NEW drum and toner. It's a rock bottom price printer I'd recommend if you just need laser printing.
Rating: Summary: Snappy little printer Review: Great output, amazing price. The only "warning" is that it uses your computer's processing power to run the printer, which means that some printouts will slow down most computers for a short time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent quality, fast, simple to set up and use Review: The ML1210 is the best personal laser printer available. It is very quick, effiecient, easy to set up and best of all, very ... Nothing more to say...!
Rating: Summary: Excellent personal printer - too bad its discontinued! Review: This is a great personal laser printer. I hate inkjets due to high ownership costs, slow speeds, and low print quality. This laser printer is fast, high quality, and cheap to run. It works great on my usb hub or parallel port and is quick to warm up. Printing a large document isn't a problem and I rarely find myself waiting for a print job to finish because it's so fast. I should also mention that is a nice compact size that fits easily in my college dorm, and it's not nearly so noisy as the inkjets I've seen. I don't think you can go wrong with this printer.
Rating: Summary: Lot of bang for the buck! Review: Very nice laser printer for the money. Easy setup, brain-dead operation..My only gripe is paper loading. It's very picking on the quantity and positioning of the paper when loading. Took about 3 tries before I was able to print the first test sheet. Quality of print is nice and crisp. The box even had an extra toner/drum included. Great bargain,,,sorry HP!
Rating: Summary: Love it!!! Review: After reading the reviews on amazon, and seeing the very low price, I decided to buy this printer. Hook up was very simple and smooth. It works perfect. The print quality is great. I had to come back to amazon and rate this printer. If you are seriously considering a printer this has to be the best qaulity at an amazing price considering it is a laser printer. Good Luck!
Rating: Summary: What a beautiful printer! Review: I was tired of having to pay through the nose to run my inkjet. Since I went back to school I thought it was time for a laser. I did a lot of research before buying this printer and all the hype was true: This is an *amazing* printer. I don't know how Samsung can sell it so cheaply! Out of the box and I was printing beautiful black and white documents in no time! Grab this one up!
Rating: Summary: So this is how the modern laser works Review: This laser replaced an 11 year-old HP IIIP which ran like a champ, until it didn't. Anyway, the first time I used this, I was stunned because it's so fast. I'd gone approximately three months without a laser and just used my color inkjet, and I was stunned not because of the difference between the speed of the inkjet and this printer, but this printer and my old HP IIIP. Well worth the price and I can find absolutely no faults with the print quality.
Rating: Summary: It's worth twice the price Review: ... I just happened to be looking for a replacement for my HP 4ML, which died after 8 years (at home). This Samsung works great. For well under [money] including shipping (I got it with a [money] instant rebate), it performs better than the [money]4ml it replaced. The text is sharp and dark, it prints fast, it hasn't double-loaded sheets yet (uprights like the HP 1100 are notorious for that), and it has USB and Parallel. I'm using it on a network with an SMC router with parallel print server. All machines are printing through the network. The drivers loaded just fine on the networked machines and print to an IP address. It works with a Win98 and 2 WinXP Pro machines. I'm very happy with this purchase. It is so much nicer having this laser than the old Lexmark color inkjet, which is slow and expensive to operate. I just printed a page of pictures from Winxp, and they look better in black and white from the laser than they do in color from the Lexmark inkjet. Normally in a review I'd add a word or two of caution from my experience, but this printer has worked flawlessly, through the network, from 2 different operating systems and 3 computers. I have nothing to add for a buyer to look out for. The printer just plain WORKS. (the only possible exception is to remember that it doesn't come with printer cables). Thank you Amazon and John Dvorak for the recommendation.
