Rating: Summary: Satisfied customer Review: I am totally satisfied with the 2200dl printer. I was concerned about my oil roller usage, but Jimmy in the Hardware support department explained the rating system on all consumables. This is something that the Office Depot salesman neglected to explain. First I was disappointed in the quality of print, but there were profiles that I needed to install and a minor driver adjustment. The technical support I recieved is among the best in the industry. Best of all, they offer free tech support past the one year warranty. I have about 82,000 copies on my machine.
Rating: Summary: It Definitely Works For Me....... Review: I bought the Minolta QMS 2200 over one year ago, and it still works like it was brand new. In fact, all I've had to replace is one oil roller and one waste toner cartridge--the original toner cartridges are still in! I use it pretty heavily too, and I've never experienced any technical glitches or malfunctions. The picture quality suits me just fine--when I have a high resolution image, I also have a high resolution print. Sometimes color/brightness has to be adjusted in order to get the picture looking right--but I have to do that with my inkjet printer too, so that's nothing new. All you need to get good output is good input--a good scan, good image editing software, and a good printer--in this case, the Minolta QMS 2200. However, I do agree that it is a power hog--when I turn it on, the lights actually flicker slightly. They probably corrected that with the more expensive versions that are out now. But for the money--this one sure ain't bad....
Rating: Summary: Drivers Do Not Work! Review: I bought this and discovered that the drivers do not work for popular programs like Photoshop, Freehand and PageMaker. it took a half dozen phone calls to their tech suppport before the admitted "problems." NOT suitable if you plan on using it as a workhorse with lots of graphics. Go elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: Unbeatable Value Review: I got the magicolor 2200 for a small office (10 users). A B/W HP laser with a network card..., and we got color for the same price! Setup was pretty straightforward, however the manual could be better. It was set up with a static IP on the network and worked perfect on all clients (W95/98/2000). Very fast in B/W, great print quality. Color is also great. Don't expect print photo quality, but better than most inkjets at it. I did have a problem printing to Excel, but a call to their support line fixed it quickly. Overall it's a great value. I have not seen anything close to this one with the features for the price.
Rating: Summary: FREE Color is Absolutely Right! Review: I have been waiting for a color laser printer that is affordable for a long time because I have had enough of my inkjet. I saw the Minolta-QMS 2200 advertised, bought it and . . . . .not only is it a great price the COLOR IS FANTASTIC
Rating: Summary: If you like buying parts 2200 is perfect. Review: I have owned this printer for 6 months now. I got it for a small home office where I could print invoices (black and white) and print color without hooking up my inkjet. I liked the fact that it had a 500 sheet paper tray and prints quickly. For the price I did not know what to expect, but I have quickly found out. If you want a disposable color laser printer this is the printer to get. I am still on the origional color toner cartridges and I replaced the black toner about a month ago. The oil roller has been replaced as well as the opc drum. For the price of toner and parts it is cheaper to buy a new printer keep to old one and maybe you will get lucky and a different part that did not break on the first one will go first and you will have the part. I also own the minolta 2300dl it prints a much better picture in color than the 2200. If I knew the problems with this one I would not have bought the 2300.

Rating: Summary: Unable to print MS Excel document, no response from service Review: I have two complain about this product. 1. I have problems printing MS excel document. (I have no problems printing all other documents.) I went into their web site, get suggestion from their existing data base, I have done two things. 1. update the new driver.(this required download new driver and installed it) 2. update new system code.(this required download the new system code and write new code into the printer system ROM), Depends on how good your computer knowledge is, some people may feel uncomfortable of doing that. 2. I did that without talking any service person, unfortunately it did not solve my problem, So I sent a question to support but do not have any response for 1 week(up to the time I worte this). Now for the gerneral impression for this products: Goods: 1. price, $999(after $300 rebate) for laser, unheard of before. 2. do not need to change Toner that often. I used to use inkjet, I think now they make inkjet printer so cheap because they can make a lot from the cartridge. it costs 25 which is about the same as 5 years ago and it dried out fast. 3. printing speed. Bad: 1. the photo paper for inkjet is no good. So if you tried to use as a photo printing, bad luck, I am not sure they make similar photo paper for laser or not. anyway this printer is not for photo printing (probably need higher dpi) 2. It is a lot heavier and it is loud when you just turn on the machine, later it quiet down a little bit.
Rating: Summary: Glad I bought it! Review: I looked long and thought hard before buying this machine. I'm very glad I did. It has completely lived up to my expectations. I just finished 12,000 copies and the only thing I had to do was replace the consumables. The estimates that were given before replacement of the consumables was pretty accurate as well. Only had it 1 month but I'm confident that this is the best choice out there for the money!
Rating: Summary: Went OUT after only 3500 pages! Review: I lvoed this printer when I first got it. Thank God I bought the extended warranty! After only 3500 pages, it needed EXTENSIVE servicing, because the fusing motor went out. The extended warranty wouldn't authorize the reparis, as it was $900.00! They did refund my purchase price, so now I am looking for something else.... DONT BUY if you expect it to last long, especially for the price!
