Summary: Don't Order Used Color Cartridges for your Lexmark!
Review: I ordered my first Lexmark color cartridge from someone who had used cartridges and my printer hasn't worked since. I had decided to order it used because there wasn't a new one available. I just purchased the Lexmark and until this time I really enjoyed it but not being able to purchase new cartridges has made it difficult to enjoy the printer. I would not purchase another used color cartridge for my lexmark.

Summary: overall good product.
Review: I own a Lexmark x63 printer for 4 years, and these cartridges are great. Never had a problem with the ink, the quality of the print is good. Ideal for people who need to print letters, resumes, items from a website. Printing actual pictures is ok, not the best quality, but then again, it also depends on the type of printer you own. Remember, you get what you pay for. The $$$ for the ink cartridges are not bad either, if you shop around you can get some good deals. Target has some decent prices, they were cheaper than other office supply stores.

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: I wish now I had spent the extra $10 and bought a new one at my local K-Mart. This cartridge leaves streaks throughout and the colors look washed out. Maybe I just received a bad one but I will never buy a refurbished cartridge again. My advice is not to waste your money.

Summary: Caveat Emptor and Time to Say Goodbye!
Review: I've owned a Z43 purchased back in 2001 knowing that replacement ink cartridges would be pricey (personal laser jets were not affordable even when my tech heavy portfolio was doing well). However, I was willing to make that tradeoff since the printer was highly rated and reasonably priced. My color printing requirements are relatively modest, about 1-2 pages/week. Here is a review of this product with a historical perspective.

2001 cartridges: Excellent
2002 cartridges: Good
2003 cartridges: Fair
2004 cartridges: Extremely poor

Over the years, the quality of the cartridges has deteriorated significantly along with the quality of the retail packaging. I've always bought from reputable retailers, including Amazon, but who knows whether these retailers were buying authentic cartridges or unknowingly moving counterfeits that were slipped into the wholesale channels?

My most recent and FINAL purchase of the 15M0120 color cartridge was from Target last month (July 04). I print in color about once a week, and the cartridge was dead in one month. Good thing that I bought it on sale for only $25, since those four color prints cost me ONLY $6.25 each...

I attempted to exchange it but even Target with its GENEROUS return/exchange policy politely told me to call their corporate 800-number. The Target voice response system then referred me to a Lexmark 800 number. After being placed on hold for tech support even though I wanted to make a warranty claim, I finally gave up. For kicks, I checked Lexmark's website only to find out that problems with printing supplies are supposed to be handled with the retailer.

THUS, NEITHER THE RETAILER NOR MANUFACTURER WILL STAND BEHIND THIS PRODUCT.

It's not worth my time to pursue this matter any further, but I figure that a review of the product is my way of saying GOODBYE.

(BTW, I haven't had any problems with the black ink cartridges 12A1970.)

Summary: Problem with Lexmark 15M0120 yellow ink running out!
Review: I, and a co-worker, have lexmark printers that take this cartridge and we both have run out of yellow at the same time. This color cartridge has been installed for almost two months with minimal usage. The printer control program indicates it is 87-90% FULL, but yellow is gone now.
Ink quality is great, photo's come out great, ink doesn't last. Anybody know of a different manufacturer that can substitute for the 15m0120, or the 12a1970?

Summary: Lexmark color print cartridge
Review: Lexmark color printing is definitely clearer and sharper than my previous HP printer!

Summary: Expensive, but what did you expect?
Review: Printers have a way of selling relatively cheap, knowing that the money is not in the printer itself but the ink. This is true for Lexmark. It is also true for every other printer of any quality. Point being, yes, my Lexmark cartridges are expensive, and occasionally I buy the cheap re-fill carts, but nevertheless, the Z51 is an awesome printer that I will own for years!

Summary: lexmark ink in a few words.
Review: QUALITY IS VERY GOOD. COST IS VERY HIGH.

Summary: Why does price continue to be so high?
Review: The print quality is good but the price is only for the rich. Lexmark needs to bring these prices down and fast. I may soon have to stop using my printer because I can no longer afford these cartridges. I am now very sorry that I bought the Lexmark printer, I should have gotten one where the cartridges are cheaper.

Summary: This I like...
Review: These Lexmark cartidges are wonderful! I have a Z54, and I have never had a problem with the ink cartridges. I can print on cheap paper, photo paper, envelopes, etc. and it all comes out nice and clear. The price is a bit higher than some others, but the quality makes it well worth the few extra dollars.
