Summary: Unbelievable Results
Review: After much research and reading all the recommendations on this site for both this printer and the HP 7960 I chose the Canon mostly because of the seperate ink cartridges and fear of jams on the HP's. I am already an owner of a multifunction HP that has always given me problems and most frustrating of all the color printing has NEVER been good. The colors were never true and looked completely cartoonish. I have heard many good things about the HP photoprinters but really dont want to take any more chances. I bought the Canon yesterday morning and hooked it up to my pc and with the very first print was amazed at how great the quality is. It was super simple to hook up and use and produces such vibrant prints that I cant tell the difference between a photo that was chemically processed and the ones that are printer produced. It is true borderless printing and the Canon paper is like regular photo paper without the perforated edge one has to tear off. What a great product, and it does exactly what it claims to do: produce great photos of good quality quickly. Be aware that you will need to purchase a USB cable to hook up the printer to the pc in order to print from your pc, and it only comes with 5 pieces of 4 x 6 paper. You will definitely want to purchase more paper, because once you start to print out your beautiful pictures you wont be able to stop. I Highly recommend this printer because of the quality and ease of use. This is my first Canon product and will from now on be a loyal customer.

Summary: Great Prints!!!!
Review: After much research on the web I chose this printer based on previous history of canon printers. When I received this printer I printed a 4X6 in less then 10 minutes out of the box. To my delight I was extremely impressed by the print. I printed some more pictures and was so impressed I had to take them to work. At work my friends were very impressed also. Some of these friends are plastic surgeons who are involved in digital and 35MM photography so to impress them tells a lot about this printer. I should of been a rep for Canon because I conviced many people to buy this printer. I compared these prints to others,no comparision. The Canon prints where much better and where as good as 35MM prints. As for cost of the prints the paper was 15 cents and the ink I don't know yet. But you can buy generic ink as low as 1.50 for each ink tank. So I would est. the cost of a print to be less than 20 cents. I would recommend this Printer without hesitation. Jan, 4, 2004. I've bought Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy from Amazon at 7.49 for 50 count. So far the ink has not even move after many pictures and black and white copies. At work at least 5 people have bought this printer and everyone has been extremely happy over the results.

Summary: Unbelievable Prints
Review: All I have to say is get this printer! Talk about crystal clear and
crisp, I don't even think a 35mm could produce a photo as
good as this and it was taken with a 1.3mp Olympus D-400 camera.

The printer was a breeze to set up. Easy controls on
the top on the printer to zoom in pictures, crop, cut, and do
what you need to do with the picture before printing it.

You can directly print from your camera, the computer
or you can just put your card into one of the Memory Slots on top of

the printer. It accepts CompactFlash, Microdrive, SmartMedia,
Memory Stick, Sd card, Multimedia Card. Yes, all of those
cards are compatible with this printer.

One feature I found that was kind of cool, only because I had
no more USB slots free once the printer was plugged in, was
the fact that I could read & write to the media card as if it
were a drive on the computer (just as it was when I had the
multiple card reader plugged in). (make sure you have the
Memory Card Utility installed and when you want to be able to
read & write just click the icon for it and following the
simple directions.) Now I don't even have to worry about not
having an extra USB slot for my other card reader...I can
just use the printer.

If you think the LCD screen is too dark, just adjust the
contrast by pressing MENU - Maintenance - Contrast and adjust
it. Very simple. I brightened it up a tiny bit.

My other printer was an Epson Stylus 800 ... total garbage compared to this.
I've had various HP printers and nothing has compared for the great price.

I highly recommend this printer for everyone. Good job Canon!
I think my next toy will be a 5mp Canon digital camera. Time
to retire the 1.3mp even though I've never had a problem
with it, I just want movie options with it as well.

Summary: Canon out colors HP
Review: Can't decide between this machine and the HP 7960? I've tried them both and this is the winner.

The print quality is much warmer, HP felt a little sterile. The Canon machine feels more substantial, the HP felt cheap and skidded across the desk. On the downside, the LCD on the Canon isn't very clear and the set up takes a little longer. Overall, Canon is the winner, add a $... in your pocket and quicker printing, and the answers easy.

Summary: Great Printer
Review: First print out of the box was great and it printed in less than a minute. I as skeptical after reading some of the reviews about yellowing and slow printing, but I have not been more pleased. The photos look almost as good as the ones you get from a photo developing lab. I am not sorry I bought this printer. Be sure to buy a USB cable as one is not included.

Summary: It works
Review: Having had horrendous paper jamming problems with HP 7760 and the Epson 325. We find the Canon i900D to be the answer. The machine works smoothly and flawlessly. The prints are excellent, and there have been no paperjams...The Canon is better in qualtiy overall.

Summary: Better than Shutterfly.com
Review: I am so impressed with this printer! The quality of the pictures rivals that of a regular camera and I can print them instantly! The software was easy to install and I was able to print in minutes. After printing a few pictures, I compared some of the prints to those I had printed by Shutterfly.com and found that the Canon colors were more true-to-life. Some of the Shutterfly pictures had a green tint but the same Canon prints were much better. There are two downfalls so far. 1)It has been difficult to find Canon photo paper in the stores (I went to Office Max, Staples (a very small selection), and Walmart). 2)The ink refills do not list the Cannon i900D on their boxes and the folks at the office stores could not tell me which refills to use. But, according to Canon (customer service answered very quickly), the printer is so new that i900D is not in the current literature. However, I have printed almost 100 pictures and the ink is still going strong. I think that at $222, this printer is a steal! I am extremely happy with it and am recommending it to everyone!

Summary: Excellent Results & Easy to Use
Review: I did quite a bit of research before buying this product, including reading all of the user reviews on Amazon, and can only say that I am delighted with the results. It is incredibly easy to set up and I was printing high quality pics within 5 minutes. All of the features advertised work precisely as described. It will not disappoint at all.

Summary: Professional quality photo prints!!
Review: I did tons of research on highest rated photo printers and agree that this printer is on par with professional photo lab prints. I chose this one over the HP 7960 because of the warmth and richness of photos and individual ink tanks (a money saver). Also, there were other reviewers selecting the Canon over the HP. This printer was also recommended as a "quick pick" by Consumer Reports magazine. I look forward to going from the Canon Photo Paper Pro to the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy for even prettier pictures (so I am told by lab techs who claim high gloss produces best results). I am extremely pleased now, and can't wait to try out an even better photo paper by Canon on this printer. Such a deal!!

Summary: Terrific Printer
Review: I got rid of my Epson 820 photo printer. You had to clean it about every 3 days, using up great supplies of ink. It was extremely noisy and very slow, for color prints. After much research, settled on the Canon. It is terrific. The quietest printer I have ever heard, with very good speed, and the colors are excellent, even using my old Epson glossy photo paper. My Epson was hooked up parallel, but the canon only has a USB hook-up. I had to do some rearranging as my laptop only has two USB ports, but that is no problem. The only frustrating thing is that I ordered this about 2 hours before Canon put a rebate on, of $40. I called Canon but they would not honor it, even though I missed it by only 2 hours. If I were buying this in a store, the salesman might have warned me to wait a day, for the rebate. The internet can be very impersonal.
