Review: I have been using Epson Products for the three years I have owned my computer...The picture quality on all the Epson Stylus Printers are great... The picture quality on this one, along with the speed makes this a surpurb machine...I rate a printer by its performance... This one works when I turn it on every time... Low maintence along with high quality pictures puts this printer on the top of the performance List...

Review: I like this printer a lot. Although it is not perfect, it is very good. It does print a lot faster than our old Lexmark but it does seem to take the documents a lot longer to get there before the printing starts, so we don't really save much time as we had hoped. It has a lot of warm up time that the Lexmark didn't have at all. But all in all it is a good printer.

Summary: The Mystery Printer
Review: I purchased my Epson Stylus Color 980 over one year ago (...). I had read one review in a computer magazine prior to that purchase and the comparisons and specs sounded great. The new printer was to replace a H-P color inkjet, purchased in 92 or 93; A model 500C, I believe.
The new Epson was purchased to print faster, better documents for my new business and to take advantage of the newer, better color printing for photos. It has done everything that was written about it and more. The E980 is very fast, has near laser clarity and is by far the most economical way to produce color prints and documents that I have used. It sips ink slowly and will make hundreds of color 8x10's with a single color cartridge.
The mystery ? First, the store tried to talk me into a different brand and cheaper copier than the Epson. Lastly, I have seen almost nothing written or advertised about the Epson SC980 since that purchase. Yet this is a very, very fine product.

There are almost always black streaks down the center of the back of what you are printing which is a real problem when you are printing something double sided. I have tried everything and I thought the problem was fixed but it is not and now I am out of warranty. Probably cheaper to buy something new than figure out this lemon.

Review: I'm a graphic designer who does a lot of presentations and color proofs. This printer is amazing: is fast, reliable and the color matching with the screen is perfect (!). I would have given a 5* rating if it came with an ethernet interfase and had a hardware postcript option.Great buy ! Make sure to get the special paper, the matte one is quite good (hq)

Review: Just purchased our second Epson printer, a 980. Sorry Canon ... Epson trounces your products hands down. HP... you're good, but not up to the Epson standard. Our Canon BJ200 died a slow agonizing death, and the 600E lost it's mind. After 2 1/2 years our first Epson, the 900, is still kicking out high quality pages like an F-18 jet fighter. And the 980, while not quite as fast, produces particularly stunning photo prints. Epson has our vote!
