Rating: Summary: Printer settings that work best for me Review: In response to Andrew's query about my settings, allow me tooffer the following:
Unless you're just printing e-mail ordrafts... ALWAYS tell the printer that you are using high resolution paper. However, you need to use good paper to start with. Don't waste your money on cheap consumables. I use Great White Premium (24lb 96 brightness), Great White Presentation (28lb 98 brightness) and the new Kodak 100+ brightness. The Canon high res paper (HR-101) will knock your socks off but you can only print on one side.
Set print quality to no less than the 'marker' before FINE and don't use 'AUTO' for the output style. Use Accurate or Vivid.
Set the intensity to no less than 25. I have created several print templates with slight variations of the above for graphics and photos. You'll just have to try it out and set it up for your particular tastes. END
Rating: Summary: Having mechanical problems, just after a year. Review: It only worked for a little over a year, and beeps six times. The troubleshooting guide, says replace ink, and I did, and problem still exists. Now I am stuck with a bad printer with extra ink. Would not recommend.
Rating: Summary: I will not be a repeat Cstomer Review: Spent about 3 hours trying to get it to print the first time, and the company had to send new printer heads. Everything was fine for almost a year. Then it had it's 1st paper jam and wouldn't feed in paper after that. Luckily? it was still under warranty. The first replacement printer did not work. The second one worked for about 1-1/2 years and now is making the dreaded 6 beeps. Tried 3 extra "printer heads" - (not ink cartridges) by this time and they did not solve the 6 beep problem. Still have extra ink cartridges I will never use too!! After reading the other reviews for this printer, I am ready to toss it and get a [$$] Epson on sale for under [$$$]. Canon charges you through the nose for technical support after the warrenty is up- so nobody will call (bother?) They usually keeps you on hold for 20 minutes before you get a tech... when you call when it is under warranty. Had one of them hang up on me because he was getting frustrated trying to help me. NOT AN 800 NUMBER. I feel better already!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Very versatile Printer Review: The BJC 6000 really gives nice looking text and does a good job on photos even without the optional photo cartridge. I have produced some really stunning digital photos using their photo cartridge. One nice thing is the separate ink tanks. This allows the user to replace only the color you run out of instead of having to can the entire cartridge. I have used compatibles with this printer for some time and personally I can tell no difference in the result. While Canon brand cartridges can be a little pricey (they are too proud of their stuff), compatibles makes this a very economical printer to own. The software that comes on the install disk is also first class, especially if you plan to use it for pictures. I have also used this for banners and T-shirts and really had the fun with it.

Rating: Summary: All in all, disapointing. Review: The BJC-6000, is probably one of the slowest printers(at high resolutions), that I've ever had the displeasure in using. The colors are dull, and no matter how much you tinker with it, it just won't get any brighter. The only real pro to this over-sized printer is it's ability to print lazer-quality b/w.
Rating: Summary: Could I have more information? Review: The printer is great. Rich from San Antonio, TX, I have quick question fot you. You said "ALWAYS tell the printer that you are using high resolution paper", does it mean even if I use photo paper, I still tell printer that I am using high resolution paper. The reason that I ask this question is: when I print test photo on high-resolution paper, it's fine. But when I switch to photo paper, the image print out is lighter. Information is appreciated.
Rating: Summary: Handy, Sharp, and Near Perfect Review: This be a neat product. I recomend it to anybody who want a printer. It print good. I have pictures now that i printed. They are nice. One is of my dog. Another is of my cat.
Rating: Summary: Cannon BJC 6000 Printer Review: This printer has worked very well up until the time I wanted to buy photo quality cartridges. Where, on this planet, can I get them? It's inexcusable to market a printer, claim it to be photo quality, then not provide the accessories to print photos. I'm ready to return my printer to the store where I bought it and demand an exchange for something I can get accessories for. What a joke!
Rating: Summary: Love my Canon Review: We just purchased our second Canon printer. The first was a BJ-610 which has serviced us for over 5 years. It is now going to our son. We purchased another Canon because of the good luck we had with the BJ-610. We are purchasing a new digital camera and the new 6000 has the special resolutions to handle digital photos. It has the additional color cartridge for photos. My biggest reason for purchasing the 6000 is the individual color cartridges. My grandkids come over and love to print colored pictures. This will allow me to put in only the colors that have run out. Our primary use for the printer is home use and now with the new digital camera, photos. We have yet to put it through it's paces and with the information from a previous review (Rich, San Antonio, Tx), I'm sure that we'll be able to set the resolutions to accomodate the pictures perfectally.
