Rating: Summary: A fast versitile printer that's cheap to use Review: I set this printer up in no time, using 20' of USB cable. It's so fast and inexpensive to use that I often use it to print copies, instead of printing an original and then taking the original to a copy place. The copies come out in color that way, which can impress your audience. I also appreciate it's duplex feature; it's easy, but not quite automatic. Canon seems ambivalent on the question of whether this is a photo printer. I've gotten pretty good prints, so far, and I think with more knowledge and practice the prints will be very good.
Rating: Summary: Canon S750 For Mac Users may not be the answer. Review: For Mac Users/ Re Canon S750 / after talking to Canon tech support... Drawback #1. I only get a max of 6 ppm on b/w although they say up to 20 ppm with b/w, the response was ... it was a mac issue. (I have a PPC 450 mhz, USB, fairly new, so this should not be an issue.) Drawback #2 They did not incorporate a page preview, so you must rely on the application having a page preview. Drawback #3 Unable to select Black and White print only. #4 Takes 20-30 seconds before paper moves into printing position, then it's the 6 ppm. The quality is a 10, but for offices that just want a quick copy and not a master piece, this may not be the one for you.
Rating: Summary: Better Canon printer Review: I just bought this printer to replace my old Canon, which I've had for 5 years. I like the Canon printers because of the indivdual ink tanks. The ink cartridges are bigger on the new model, so they should last longer. The colors seem to be more accurate and brighter, too. The S750 is a lot faster than the old model and much quieter. It is also better at printing envelopes. I always had trouble with the old one with getting envelopes to feed correctly. The S750 was easy to install and can be used with a parallel cable or USB.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Output....and FAST Review: When my Epson Stylus Photo 800 went south, I thought it was going to be hard to find a printer to match it's output and quality. I spent considerable time doing my homework on inkjet printers. I wanted great photo output and my wife wanted great text. I reviewed and tested HP and Epson printers in stores but they all had something I didn't care for such as combined ink cartridges whereas you run out of magenta (red) and you toss the whole cartridge. The Canon S750 has individual cartridges ... . I settled on the Canon S750. After many prints of Word documents, pictures, CD labels, photos, I have found the Canon a sure winner in my book. I did goof on setup by misunderstanding the head alignment instructions. I called tech support and a knowledgeable and friendly person worked the problem and agreed the instructions could be a little clearer but my simple problem was solved. Hats off to Canon, this printer is awesome!
Rating: Summary: Printhead Problems Review: I have also had printhead problems with mine. It has worked great for 2 years but just gave out on me recently. I wouldn't mind buying a new printhead but I can't find any available on the internet and I would hate to have to pay half the price of the printer to get one. My printer will not print any color except blue and everything I print has white lines through it. I would recommend not purchasing one of these unless the defect is fixed.
Rating: Summary: bum printer Review: I would have rated this printer with 5 stars when I bought it for print quality & speed, but after less than a year of very light use I too am suffering from a buggered print head. Thanks to the other reviews on amazon I shall not waste my time replacing the print head but shall begin the search for a new printer, and it won't be another canon.
Rating: Summary: Started out great... Review: when I first got his printer I was very pleased. One reason for buying it was the good reviews and that it was replacing an aging BJ6000 which used the same ink carts so I didn't have to waste all my old stock.
Well, 10 months later and I need a new printhead. Not only are they expensive - you can't find them. when available, they routinely sell for $55+ on eBay and I have seen websites that list them for $85!! Hey, I only paid $125 for the machine in the first place.
The only way for me to use it is to clean the heads before using it every day. As soon as my ink carts are done, I will be buying a replacement and it won't be a Canon.
Rating: Summary: Printhead Problems Review: I brought this printer about a year ago and it has work great since than. I only used the printer serveral times per week. Most recently the printhead went out. I talked with cannon technical support and I found out that you can only buy the printhead from cannon at 49.00 plus tax and shipping. By the way the print head is not guaranteed, so if you buy it, you better be sure that is really the problem.
Rating: Summary: Another Print Head Failure Review: You can tell from the other reviews that this printhead is a piece of junk. It regularly fails on printing black. Before buying another Canon product, read the reviews. Save yourself a lot of trouble.
