Summary: Epson C80 Printer Review
Review: It set up in a jiffy with our Windows XP system. The set up directions neglect to tell you the ink cartridge clips snap in off center and you wonder if you are installing the ink correctly.

It prints very well but is noisy when the paper advances but is very quiet when printing. It prints quickly. Both text and pictures print well. I was especially pleased when printing some old family pictures that we had scanned into the computer. They look just about as good as the originals.

Bottom line. I'd buy the same printer again.

Summary: Pretty decent printer after all
Review: After reading all the great reviews about this printer from other medias (not from amazon) I knew this printer was for me. I finally bought one and with great anticipation I hooked up the printer to my new computer and waited. Well...after installing the printer software and plugging in all the right cables it didn't work. For some reason or another the printer was not communicating with my computer. I went through all the steps of uninstalling and re-installing the printer several times with no success. I Finally broke down and called Epson tech support and spent over 30 minutes going through the same steps of uninstalling and re-installing the printer. The tech support person was very nice but no help at all. He then told me there must be a problem with my computer and I told him no way! I just got a new Dell computer and my previous Epson 640 printer worked just fine on this computer. Then he said he couldn't do anything else for me and suggest I return the Epson printer for a replacement. (I was not very happy with this suggestion since I just got the printer.) Well... I thought about the parallel printer cable I was using. Since this printer uses both parallel and USB cables I removed my parallel cable and switched over to USB cable. Wah-la! It worked! The printer is working fine now and I haven't had any problems since then. Now there is one other problem that creeps up once in awhile and that is the paper. At times 2 sheets of paper drops through to print but other then that it's ok. This happened when I used a cheaper stock of paper with multiple pages to print. On the positive side the text printing is very good and sharp but the color printing could use some improvements. Other then that I find this printer to be pretty decent and fast. I still give it thumbs up!

Summary: Worst Printer Yet
Review: I am a P.C. Tech and even with my knowledge and experience, I could not troubleshoot this unit to work properly. I run Win XP Pro and even though the printer was recognized by windows, it did not print properly from the start. After many hours of updating drivers, reinstalling, and uninstalling, I figured I must have received a bad apple and exchanged it for another one.
Same nightmare revisited. The main problems were that the photos I printed always had faint lines. Of course I did nozzle cleanings, new cartridges, head alignment, etc. Also, the printer would spool mystery documents that I would constantly be cancelling or it would print half a document and decide to start on a fresh piece of paper. Overall, I will never buy another Epson due to lack of customer support as well as inferior product.

Summary: Photo quality limited by faded colors
Review: Colors in photos are washed out. Cannot handle deep blues, deep reds or deep yellows. The ink is handy though, replaceable individually, but I wish they would revamp the ink quality for this model.
Construction quality is superb, this printer will last you several good years. It prints very quickly. The price is great and the cost of ownership is low in part to the individually replaceable ink cartridges.
I love everything about this printer except the photo quality. I expected better inkjet quality from Epson. I guess they are trying to steer me into needing an inkjet printer and an inkjet photo printer. I'd rather have a laser printer and an inkjet photo printer.

Summary: Produces impressive output
Review: I liked it. Only complaint is that price went up and they are hard to find in stock right now.

Summary: Epson C 80
Review: Excellent quality and reliability. The printer is great (5 star) but the ink is expensive and therefore the 4 star rating.

Summary: Great Printer...but hard on the ink
Review: A great little printer, but it goes through ink quickly. Prints fast and with great resolution.

Summary: A "for a good reason" Epson fan!
Review: This is my 3rd Epson product (2nd printer). Once again, I am not disappointed. The set up was super easy. And the speed - WOW! (And I'm just using a parallel connection.) The output is excellent. I know I will once again love my Epson product!!!

Summary: Good but Thirsty
Review: The Epson C80 is a pretty good printer. It's fairly cheap,it's fast, and it prints type and pictures very well. I saw other reviews that said colors were dull, but I thought they were fine, although I don't like the garish, super-saturated colors you get in some kinds of slide film, so my taste may not be yours. It wasn't that easy to install, but this is my first printer on my first computer,so...but once I got it going it was fine. I recently downloaded Windows XP, and that's caused problems, but I think/hope it can be fixed with the help of a more knowledgeable friend. I like that it has separate ink cartridges, but it is quite thirsty and that gets expensive. Sometimes the printer doesn't want to recognize that I've put in a new cartridge, which can be frustrating. Sometimes it doesn't want to let me switch from color to b&w and back, but whether that's the printer's fault or the computer's, I don't know. It's a bit noisy loading paper, but that's a trivial complaint. This may sound like a lot of complaints, but I'm just trying to be thorough. My most serious complaint is the expense of replacing ink cartridges, but considering everything, I would buy the C80 again.

Summary: Great printer for OS X
Review: A great printer for anyone looking for an affordable printer for Mac OS X (or OS 9). It's quieter than the Epson 740 I have and LOADS faster, and there are so many more print options, like an economy mode and double-sided printing. And the text quality even at 360 dpi on the lowest quality paper is really good.

Best of all, Epson has OS X drivers for this printer and set-up was a breeze.

If you print both text and images, this is a good choice. And if you're looking at the Epson C60, go with this one. Even if you don't need the extra image quality, you'll appreciate the faster printing speed.

I don't know how the ink useage will be with the three color cartridge system compared to the (cheaper) single cartridge. However, I'll continue to get my cartridges from Ink4art.com. I've used their cartridges for my other Epson printers for two years, and their quality, service and PRICES are all excellent.
