A color printer from HP, the DeskJet 950 is a high-performance model with some nice features and a reasonable price. Print resolutions are as high as 2,400 x 1,200 dpi for color and 600 x 600 dpi for monochrome, while print times as fast as 8.5 ppm for color and 11 pages for black. 4 MB of built-in memory are provided, while a 3,000-pages per month duty cycle provides enough reliability for medium-use environments. A wide variety of paper types and sizes are supported, including plain paper, banner, envelopes, index/greeting cards, Hagaki, labels, transparencies, photo paper, letter, legal, executive, A4, A5, A6, B5-JIS, and user defined from 3 by 5 to 8.5 by 14 inches. A 100-sheet input tray is provided, while a 50-sheet output tray 24-sheet photo tray are standard. The DeskJet 950 connects via its standard USB or parallel ports. The 100 to 240 VAC power supply consumes about 25 watts during normal operation. The printer has a 17.32-by-14.56-inch footprint and weighs 13.1 pounds.
