Rating: Summary: This one works perfectly with my Windows ME laptop Review: I never could get my Lexmark Z42 to work with Windows ME so I bought the Canon S600. It works perfectly with ME, was easy to set up, and the quality of the print is excellent. One feature I think is an advantage is that this uses ink tanks instead of ink cartridges, so it should be cheaper to refill.
Rating: Summary: Great, cheap printer. Review: I have had this printer for about 2 weeks now and love it. I have been printing tons of stuff, and the ink levels haven't gone down at all yet, plus the replacement colors are only like $12. Prints great photos too. Can not tell its a copy unless the original is right beside it, and even then its hard to tell which one is the copy. Overall great printer.
Rating: Summary: Much better than my HP Review: I bought an HP printer last year based on rave reviews at Amazon, and was happy with it until I discovered it couldn't print true red: it comes out as a rusty color. I went to a local electronics store and printed test samples from a half dozen HP's, and they all came out with rust for red. Then I noticed that my photos had a flat, blue tone. I've been thinking of buying a new printer, and was getting ready to buy an Epson, then checked this Canon out. It's a good value, the software that comes with it is really intuitive and easy to customize, and it prints red. So far I'm very happy. At first the photos weren't great, but with some customization of the settings (to "fine") they're now high quality. I'll try some different papers to see if I can boost the quality even higher. Much better overall than my HP though. Nice to have red again.
Rating: Summary: Nice Review: Very nice printer. Quality of print is excellent. Speed is very impressive. Only drawback is that it is noiser than other printers that I have used, but the speed and quality make up for that. Also the individual ink tanks are a big plus.
Rating: Summary: new consumer Review: This was the first printer that I have ever purchased. After much research, I decided to buy it based on reviews, price, and speed. I love it! It only took about a half an hour to get it running! The print speed is extremely fast. I will definitely be buying Canon printers in the future.
Rating: Summary: Great photos, low price - what else are you looking for? Review: We picked this printer up as a throw-in when we got the Canon PowerShot S100 camera. I must say, I was skeptical whether the printed photos on display with the S600 at the store actually came from the printer. They did. This printer is an exceptional value. On good photo paper the printer does a fantastic job at glossy or satin finishes, colour or black and white. 4x6 prints look as good as from the lab. Even on regular inkjet paper, it looks much better than most. And the best part is, the cartridges are much less expensive than the highway-robbery HP or Epson cartridges. Save your money from the HPs - I guarantee you will be happy with both the quality and the price of this printer.
Rating: Summary: Good printer but I paid too much Review: The printer was easy to set up and install on my network. I had only one bad moment when I could not print a CD label with a picture attached. Turned out to be a label SW problem. {Whew} Print quality is very good. The speed is not exactly what I expected. ( A little slow, but very tolerable) I like the ability to change the print head and ink tanks separately....
Rating: Summary: Great Printer Review: This is a great printer and I love the separate ink tanks. Not only can you change the colors as needed, the ink tanks themselves last a very long time. On draft mode, I got about 800 pages worth of printing on one black ink tank. Also, with the right photo paper, the picture prints turn out great.
Rating: Summary: Best I Ever Used! Review: After years of printers - I have used quite a number from Panasonic to HP - this is the best I have ever used! I agree with the reviews about the print quality, color redering, graphics, but what has me sold is the ink supply. I have been using this printer heavily for over three months, and have yet to replace a color tank. When I bought the printer, I also bought a spare set of tanks, based on my experience with other single-cartridge color printers. The spare tanks are still in the original package! And even better, the three tanks together cost less than the single three color tank of my old printer. As for quality, I saw one review which complained about it - all I can say is to use the Canon exhange warranty and try another printer. As for myself, I am doing full-color brochures for my business, and everyone who has seen them asks which print house I used. And this is at the "normal" setting! The 45 second "warm up" is no big deal - and if gives me time to recheck things one last time, to cancel the print job when I discover that little error. The softwware support is also excellent, and the printer status monitor is better than any other I've used. Would I purchase this printer again - absolutely! Would I recommend it to a friend or relative - I have!
Rating: Summary: Are all S600s created equal? Mine is NOT photo quality. Review: How does one reconcile the great specs and all the good reviews against the 300 dpi (photo) quality I've experienced? I'd like to think I didn't get 'hoodwinked' in a game of specsmanship. If it really is a good product and Canon has a QA problem with something like the print head, etc, they should say so, make it 'right' and get me to keep the printer. Otherwise, it has to go back into the box and to the Post Office.
