Summary: Quick but can't use the software
Review: I just bought this printer, and i figured out how fast it is. However, it's just way too noisy. Epson haven't really improve this problem at all in yrs. Also, I donno why I can't install the Arcsoft PhotoImpression software. It just freezes my computer once it's installing. I have to ask someone to fix it or i'll ask 4 a refund!

Summary: Good hardware, bad software
Review: I've had this printer for about a year now, ever since my old Canon broke down. What originally attracted me was, of course, the price. I must say that you get a pretty decent printer for what you pay. My only issue with it is the software. First of all, this device keeps its software resident in memory. I would far rather have one less program fighting for system resources than the marginal speed you get from having it just sitting there and waiting on you. Secondly, the software was definitely not designed for use over a network. Any network printers will more than likely be unable to check ink tank levels and will sometimes say that that there was a paper jam when there really wasn't.

Summary: Loud, but great print
Review: I was looking for an inexpensive, but good quality printer. I bought the C60 with the mail-in rebate offer. It prints both color and black very quickly. The main drawback is the noise. It sounds SO much louder than I would expect to be 'normal.' Overall though, for price and quality of output, I'd say the C60 is a winner.

Summary: Awesome printer
Review: I love this printer so far. It is super fast and the printing looks great. It was a little loud, but I don't mind becuase it is so nice. And what can you expect for a hundred dollar printer? I was actually suprised at how fast it was. It really is as fast as it says. The installation was quick and easy. I didn't have any problems, no freezing etc. I didn't have to re-boot. I am thrilled to have it. And I would recommend it to everyone.

Summary: Most worthless piece of crap printer ever.
Review: I'll concur with most other reviewers. Takes forever to start printing. If you don't print every day then you'd better use the head cleaning utility before each print (which wastes ink). It knows if you're using non-original cartridges and I suspect that it treats them differently. Original cartridges are very expensive and don't last long. I'll never buy Epson again.

Summary: No ink? Out of luck.
Review: I hate this printer! It is loud, slow, and the ink cartridges are difficult to find, not to mention that they have to be replaced all of the time. I purchased this on the recommendation of a friend and lets just say the friend gets a one star rating now.

Summary: Ink monger
Review: This printer will, sooner or later, chew through your wallet in ink catridges. When functioning normally, it seems to use ink at a faster rate than any printer I've had, including other epson printers. And the ink for this printer is not cheap. As another user pointed out, even compatible catridges are pricey, much more than say, Canon ink.

Most alarming is the printer's incessant need for nozzle cleaning. It seems the slightest jarring of the printer will cause the nozzles to become clogged, requiring 2, maybe 3 consecutive nozzles cleans, which EAT UP INK very quickly. No other printer I've ever owned has had this problem.

And of course, it takes forever to warm up and is loud. Bottom line: if you want to shell out outrageous amounts of money for replacement ink catridges, suffer long nights of frustrating nozzle maintence, and tiresome printer warmups, buy this printer.

Summary: Not bad...when the print heads aren't clogged
Review: I've had this printer for about 2 years now. The print quality is decent and the speed is okay. I use non-OEM Epson inks (the Epson branded ones are about 4-6 times as expensive) and I never had a problem until recently. The print heads would clog up & no matter how many cleaning cycles I ran from the included software utility, my prints were still missing one color.

So, I searched online for solutions. Some online stores sell a solution for unclogging. I also read that some people use isopropyl alcohol. I didn't have any on hand, but I was willing to try anything. After all, what use is a printer that doesn't print one color? I had a bottle of whiteboard cleaner sitting around. It smells like isopropyl alcohol. I removed the color cartridge & placed a drop of the whiteboard cleaner onto the print head (it's the black part on the bottom of the printer's bracket). Then, I replaced the cartridge & ran the test utility. Unbelievably, it printed the missing color almost flawlessly. So, if you have one of these printers with a missing color, you should give this a try before chucking it. Disclaimer: I just did this, so I don't know what the long-term side effects are. Use only as a last resort. :)

Summary: So-So
Review: I bought the C60 based on a Consumer Reports review. It was a CR Best Bet. I bought it to use with my Imac, and the software was easy to install. When I tried using it on our laptop w/ Windows 98, I kept encountering problems with the software when I tried to install the printer. I have had the machine for 2 years now. The print quality is good, when all the cartridges are working correctly and completely full. The noise and ink useage are what drop this down to a 1 star rating. I bought this for around $70 at Best Buy, and bought extra cartridges to go with it. The extra cartridges cost as much as the printer did. Even the generic cartridges run $17-20. The cartridges run out fast! The heads need constant cleaning. Currently, even after cleaning my heads repeatedly my fuschia color is still not printing, and though the ink monitor says the black cartridge has enough ink for 18 pages, it will not let me print at all. If one cartridge runs out, you can not continue to print just using the color(s) of the other cartridge. Huge pain.
It is very noisy and rattles. I could live with the noise, due to the low price, but the wasted ink and constant cartridge replacement has cost more in the long run than the printer. A case of penny-wise pound foolish.
