Summary: refill ink carts very easy for C60
Review: Refilling the C60 carts is easy first buy both new carts but don't print with them only use them to reset the printerthe printheads in the Epsons are built in the printer not on the carts like the HP printers ok here we go ontop there are 3 buttons push the one on the right when carts move over and stop take out the carts one or both it don't matter unless both are empty of course install new carts and push the same button again the carts will will return to park position now just leave the printer alone it is now reset now refill the carts you just removed, now to fool the printer look inside at the black box that holds the carts in the back see the round chrome rod next to the carts and just above the rod a tiny piece of black plastic and just behind it a very small white piece of plastic push that back and it will stay back now pull the carts over and exchange the refilled carts then push them back all the way to the park position bingo your ready to print befor putting therefills back in rap theme lightly on a papper towell so the ink will dispel any air

Summary: Don't be taken by low price!!!
Review: I recently purchased a Dell system which came with the Epson Stylus C60. At first I thought it was a nice printer, however after I had printed only 8 4X5 photos at medium quality and two full page black and white emails I ran out of ink.

I went to my local printer dealer and they sold me a set of ink cartridges for the C60 However when I tried to install the cartridges the software told me that they were not Epson cartridges and quit installing. I tried to print color and got a terrible mess so I decided to use it for black and white printing. After 4 black and white email printouts of a single page each the printer quit printing completely.

I bit the bullet and bought the ...set of Epson cartridges and wow it works just like new.

...

I know, buyer beware, so heed the warning!

Summary: The Epson C62
Review: The Epson C62, the replacement for the C60, is superb, especially for color photos. It received the best buy rating from Consumer Reports. I recently bought it and am completely satisfied.

Summary: Good and loud
Review: You pay under 100 bucks for a printer, and you get better than you deserve with this printer. The print quality is top notch, the speed is good, and I like the ink monitor too. Yes, it is noisy. Forget the late night printing... Also, if you don't print a lot -- for instance, I don't use color that often -- the ink clogs. That means you'll have to clean the ink-jet heads -- an automated but time consuming and ink wasting process.

Summary: [Stinks Stinks Stinks]
Review: Let the price or other reviews not fool you. This printer fails in the basic functions it is designed for. The paper gets jammed so often that we are forced to manually feed one paper at a time and GOD help you if the printer decided to reject the paper, you go back to the start line and start all over again..It is going where

Summary: Great value if you print a mix of photos and text
Review: I'm an HP printer guy myself, but I bought this as a replacement for my girlfriend's mom's old mono printer (it was a 7 year old Canon BJ-200...!) I ask you, how many photo quality printers can you find for this kind of money?

Setup is as easy as any.. Plug the printer in, turn the printer on, hit the "ink" button, insert ink cartridges, hit the ink button again. Then you insert the CD in your computer and double click on the Epson icon. A 5 minute job. Note that every time you reset power to this printer, that the heads get cleaned, potentially wasting ink! Do not turn this printer off unless you have to.

If you print a lot of letters and want text only, I don't recommend this printer, because the text quality in normal mode is only so-so (you can tell it was printed on a d.m. printer.. some pixels visible). I have not tested text in high quality mode, but I'm sure it's much better than in normal.

However, if text is equally important as graphics, get this printer. I picked it up on sale here...Show me another printer that accepts both USB and parallel cables for [this price] that prints decently! By the way, don't be afraid of the ink problem; there are already companies making generic ink for a fraction of the cost of Epson's (though I personally stick with name brand inks).

As with my old Epson Stylus 600, this one does better with high end papers.. Buy the good, thick ink-jet paper if you want good results! My HP Deskjet 930 is a little better in this area, but I paid twice as much for my HP.

It's not a silent printer, but where do YOU print from-- the public library? Most doc's I print are 2 pages or less. I can deal with a noisy printer for 60 seconds. I live by an airport; that's what I call noisy.

If you need an jack-of-all-trades printer, you can't do better for the money. If you need ultimate speed and text quality, you'll have to spend much more than [this].

Summary: Wastes Ink
Review: I agree with many who complain about the sound, but what bothers me is the prodigious use of ink. I have replaced both black and color cartridges four times in about 7 months - despite infrequent use. The money you save in purchasing this relatively inexpensive printer will more than offset by the money you spend puchasing ink cartridges. Also, despite having the printer replaced twice by the the company because of defects, I still can't get the ink monitor to work. I am writing this purchase off and looking for another printer.

Summary: Don't buy it!
Review: The product is so so and the technical service is even worse. First, I need to wait for a long long long time (at least 45 mins) to have a chance to talk to a tech person. Then, after an hour long talking and trying (very similar to the trouble shooting part in the menu), he told me that "I cannot help you! You need to find some outside help!" What was that? Don't waste your money!

Summary: Inexpensive for a reason
Review: hey, it's an [inexpensive] printer and you get what you pay for. I had mine for about 6 months and it always had a problem printing more than 4 or 5 pages at a time, it would somehow get jammed or confused and would have to be reset in order to continue the printing. also I had to replace the ink cartridge twice and I don't do that much printing. the quality of the print is good in both color and black and white, the cartridges just didn't seem to last that long. I wound up trading it in for an hp laser jet.
