Rating: Summary: horrible photo print quality Review: i have had this printer for some time and am sickened by the photo quality it gives.. my friend has an hp that has 600dpi and gets far superior print quality to this lexmark @ 1200dpi.. if you are in to printing photos don't buy it... if you want nice text printing and paying an arm & leg for an ink cartridge.. THIS PRINTER IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Not a good printer! Review: I was shocked when my father told me that he got this printer for just $20.00 brand new!! The problems didn't last too long to show off:
1. No black cartridge and it was incredible hard to find and pretty expensive, almost twice the price of this printer.
2. The paper feeder is the worst feeder I've ever seen. You have to stack about 50 sheets to it to work well, but when you have just 5 sheets the jam starts!!
3. I don't know if it's a WinXP problem but every time I connect my printer to my USB port, Windows says that it couldn't find an installed driver, never!! But finally it works.
4. Print quality is ok, b&w quality.
5. Cartridges are too expensive and last nothing!
I've been using a Canon BJC-240 for almost 6 years and the security it gives to me when I want to print a very important document has no comparison with the Lexmark. No paper jams, easy to find and not expensive cartdriges. My suggestion, don't buy this printer, get a HP or a Canon. It won't matter how old your HP or Canon is, surelly it will work better than the Lexmark.
Rating: Summary: So Far, So Good Review: I've had this printer for about a month now and I'm pleased with my purchase. The installation was very easy and it doesn't take up a great deal of space. Beware, the actual ppm print speeds are much slower than what's advertised but the print quality is extremely good considering the price. It's a great inexpensive option for someone who just needs a color printer for basic printing.
Rating: Summary: great for the price Review: I've had this running for just a couple of weeks, but so far I'm extremely pleased with the deal I got. Installation was absolutely brainless, and the printer is half the size of my old one--it hardly takes up any desk space at all. Printing is fairly quiet, and monochrome printing is as fast as I could possibly ever need. The color-coded ink cartridges are a nice touch--it's impossible to get them mixed up. I've used several different kinds of paper and have yet to have a single paper jam. The colors look good, and dry surprisingly quickly, but the cartridge is small enough that I'm already on my second color cartridge after printing 35 brochures; in the long run, folks who use a lot of color printing on a regular basis may find that it's cheaper to spend a few more dollars on the printer in order to use a larger, more efficient ink cartridge. Color printing is also on the slow side--mine was averaging just 2 pages per minute. In general, I'm extremely pleased with the printer and have recommended it to a few folks. For standard home printing, it's a great deal.
Rating: Summary: Simple to use! Review: Keep in mind that this printer is an older model. It won't have all the bells and whistles that newer models offer. I think it is a great first time user printer for someone that doesn't want to spend a lot of money, or for someone that just prints school reports or "light" printing. However, I have printed pictures with this printer and they have turned out fairly decent. It is verrrrrrry easy to use and prints fast enough for me. I like that it uses black AND color cartridges...saves on ink by allowing you to chose if you want something printed in black only. I always own Lexmark printers and have been completely satisfied with their printers and customer service. At the time of this review, you can pick up this printer for thirty bucks! That is cheaper than one ink cartridge..and it comes with one black and one color. You can't beat that!
Rating: Summary: Now here's a hunk of crap... Review: Nuff said. Through it away and buy a real printer. One that won't eat your wallet and produce clunky, sopping, streaking prints. Never ever... Im serious... those who disagree are either doups, idiots or have no point of refference... never under any circumstances let a friend buy anything by lexmark that uses ink. Do yourself a favor and cut your finger and write the document in blood before you buy one of these junkers. They love to spend your cash in the form of ink tanks and they have the worst paper feed in the industry... even next to brother... did I mention they're slow and they're clunky. If you had a lexmark on a table next to an HP... and printed anything you'd have to be a dumb iss to preferr the lexmark. Nuff said. I've sold these things for 5 years and I've seen the returns and the pissed off customers enough! Stop buying crap! also dell printers are made my Lexmark... and never call them Lay-mark... I hate that when idiots pronounce lexmark lay-mark... can you read... are you french or american you moron? LEX MARK... say it once aloud for me LEX MARK

Rating: Summary: Lexmark Z22 Review: Overall, I like the printer. It set up easily, prints quickly in black and white, and not all that bad in color. I haven't had it long enough to need new ink cartridges yet, but I think I will definately look into a do-it-yourself-refill-kit. I've looked around online, and the cheapest cartridge I have found is just over $26.00. The best feature so far is it lacks the CLICK_CLICK_CLANK_GRRRRR_CLICK_CLICK_CLICK of it's HP predecessor. I would recommend purchasing this printer.
Rating: Summary: Good for the price Review: The installation was quite easy and well laid out in the instructions. The print speed is rather slow, but the quality (especially on the High Quality setting) is fine for most users.
Rating: Summary: THE ABSOLUTE WORST PRINTER EVER MADE! Review: The Lexmark Z22 is the worst printer that I ever owned and/or used, which for me is saying a lot, given my profession as a graphic artist specializing in digital printing. The printer, for whatever reason, stops printing in black after about two to three months of use. Up to that time, the print quality is excellent, almost laser quality, then it just stops printing in black. And changing the cartridge and cleaning the print nozzles doesn't help. The color component of the printer isn't much better, for it shows signs of deterioration after about three months of use. Initially, when I bought my first Z22 printer thru an auction web site, I thought I was swindled with a worn out printer. Later, when I bought my second Z22, brand new at a local discount store, the same problems occurred. In all my experiences with Lexmark printers, which overall is a good brand, the Z22 is the worst printer they ever made. It doesn't even deserve a "1 star" rating.
