Rating: Summary: Great Printer... Great Price Review: After getting my new Graphite iMac I realized that it would be cheaper to buy a printer, than the software necessary to network with the ones already present on my home Windows network. Since I don't print that often I figured that I would just get a cheap Mac-compatible USB printer. Boy, was I surprised to discover just how great the quality of this printer can be. Print a picture or a publication on the photo quality inkjet paper that comes included and you will be amazed by the results. Better than magazine print and almost rivaling photographs. The speed is fairly impressive too even when printing at higher resolutions. I have heard that the longevity of this printer is not the greatest, so if you print occasionally, but want high quality prints when you do, then, for the money, this printer is definitely a great buy.

Rating: Summary: Great Product for the Price Review: I bought this printer at a great price of $30 and have gotten my moneys worth. It prints scanned pictures with great depth and clarity. It is fast! A plus. The only bad is, expensive cartridges. I pay more per cartidge than for the price of the printer itself. Albert
Rating: Summary: Great printer.. buy one! Review: I use this printer for everything: word processing, web page prints, and fax printing. But you won't believe the print quality of photos from a good digital camera! It has never dissapointed me. Its faster than the Canon BJC 4550 I have in the other room and uses FAR less ink than either the Canon or the HP Deskwriter I used to have. Epson's print driver software for the Mac is excellent, and there are some good photo touch-up applications on the disk too. My experience is with the Blue & White G3 and iMac with USB ports. Get one.. you will love it.

Rating: Summary: Quality + Value! Review: I'm a repeat Epson 600series customer and the 740i is definitely not a duplication. The speed is noticeably faster - regardless of the connection. In addition, the motor and print heads are significantly quietier than initial Epson products. Lastly, and most importantly, the quality is dead-on printing. Even on plain white paper at 360dpi, it is impressive. I use Photoshop, Quark, and Freehand - and the color matching is excellent on a > ¼ charged cartridge. If you are particular about your printing though - the software is bundled into your print dialog command - allowing you quite of tweaking freedom. The best thing for me though is the options of connectivity. Like the previous Epson - I need connectivity. USB, Serial, AND parallel - this product is a must for cross-platform users. I run MacG3 PB, Windows98, and windows NT - believe it or not I can actually print from all of these without having to plug/unplug cords or have a print server! I'm worried about the Epson 740 comments about short-term (1year) life expectancy. But my older 600 series model is still kicking - so I'm hoping that Epson hasn't suckered us. Lastly, put your 740i in front of a window - you'll really start to appreciate the happy color and consistency of translucent injection molding:)

Rating: Summary: Disappointed! Review: Ink level monitor is a joke, when it was still printing great, it show ink out (which is not true) and stop printing. Head cleaning always clean both black and color, bad idea, it could end up use up half of the ink without having both heads in clean condition the same time. With 2 of the above, I am staying away from Epson forever.
Rating: Summary: Great printer at a fair price Review: The Epson Sytlus Color 740i printer is exactly the same as the 740, except it comes in Apple iMac translucent colors. The base is milky white, the top comes in blue - but is available in all 5 colors for a few extra dollars. Quality is great, speed is good. Consider the Sytlus 900 if you want a faster printer. It also prints slighter higher resolution. It is a little larger too, but only comes in beigh plastic
Rating: Summary: Impressed! Review: Wow, am I impressed with this printer. It's fast, quiet, has amazing print quality (It is as they say, all in the paper. When printing on film, the output is completely indistinguishable from a 35mm photograph. I defy anyone to tell the difference), it quite economic with ink (better than any Cannon or HP) AND it looks much COOLER than the pc it's connected by USB to. You shouldn't have to spend more money than this on an inkjet printer unless you want to handle unusally large paper.
