Rating: Summary: A work horse Review: This printer has proven to be a reliable work horse for me. I get amazing results in both color and black & white!I noticed the review by the person who had problems with his 880, wherein he said he seldom used his printer. This will cause problems for most inkjets as the ink will dry up in the print heads causing the need to replaced the print heads. I would recommend turning on any inkjet printer at least once a week to prevent this from happening. It may use up ink as a result, but you'll extend the life of the printer and not have to replace it due to lack of use. Once again, you get plenty of bang for the buck with the Epson Stylus Color 880 - and stunning photo quality results if you use Epson products with the printer!!!

Rating: Summary: Wonderful printer Review: This printer is awesome! It prints text and photos very quickly. The ink has a very long life, which is good because it is really expensive! The printer is small and light weight and aesthetically pleasing. I got this printer three years ago and it still works great today.

Rating: Summary: Quality Product Review: This printer shows quality, when taken out of the box in construction and casing. The speed for things like envelopes is 10x my previous printer. In quality mode, not even using photo paper, and photosetting, it looks like a magazine printing on plain paper. I love it. The cost of cartridges is not excessive either. The software sets it up beautifully in no time.
Rating: Summary: Compete with the Big Boys for a small price! Review: What a joy! For two years I've survived with a brand-name throw-in Printer- you know: the one they give you...with the purchase of a...system, marked down...! Two pages a minute of barely legible B&W; faded-out color that makes your dish-pan hands look radiant! Well, blessedly, that's now history- and for...less yup, [a good price] for the cable: for...complete, complete printing relief can be yours too. It comes in the form of the top-rated Epson 880. The Epson outperforms it's claimed performance- and by a lot! 12 pages per minute of quietly produced, rich B&W. 7+ color pages so faithful to the original that only your hairdresser will know for sure. It took me under 10 minutes to unbox and set-up the Epson, and another 5 to fine tune- and I'm a Klutz! If you want to impress your friends by spending [lots of money] for a fancy, big name Printer- be my guest: but please, don't make me an offer for my Epson!
Rating: Summary: Paper feed problems Review: When I bought my printer I was excited to get it home and start prining pictures and documents. My excitement soon faded, the paper feed is unreliable. Any time I start my printer it never feeds the first sheet, I have to coax the paper for a couple of minutes before it feeds. I have also been having problems with the color, when printing pictures the color does not match what is on the computer. To verify that it is a problem with this printer I have taken the same picture to other printers and made far higher quality pictures. I guess now I am so frustrated I am looking for a new printer and Epson will be on the bottom of my list.
Rating: Summary: Worst Printer Review: When one computer guru talks to another about printers, Epson never comes up, why mention a horrid product when an HP will do it better, faster, quieter, and NEVER break. First off, all Epsons, including this one, all have the printer head built on into the printer, if that goes, which it will usually after 8-12 months, one must go out and buy another printer. HP and Lexmark both have the print head on the cartridge, so if the prints don't look spectacular, get rid of the cartridge, not the printer as you would with Epson. Also Epson's waste so much ink cleaning and cleaning, they use an air system to output the ink to the paper whereas HP and Lexmark use electricity to output the ink, which doesn't require the cleaning. Spend a lttle more and get some quality, buy an HP 932C.
Rating: Summary: A true Sweetheart printer! Review: Yes, the Epson 880 is a true sweetheart. The price is fantastic. Hook up and down loading was extremly easy. Ink Cartriges slide into place and easly lock down. The printer uses two seperate ink cartriges, and Yes, you can replace only the one that is empty and leave the other one till it's empty. When you lift the lid to get at the cartriges the printer swings the paddle to the center of the printer for easy access. If you close the lid, the printer acknowledges that the exact same cartriges are still in the printer and does not run off any check pages, which wastes ink and paper. Now when you do place a brand new ink cartriges into the printer it does acknowledge the new cartrige and will ask if you want to run a check page or not but only if it detects a new cartrige. Switching to glossy pictures and/or paper takes only a few entries. The help goes right to the point, and I mean right to the point of your question. On average I'll spend about 5-8 minutes in help to solve problems. I cannot stand help sections that make you read almost an encyclopedia of topics before you can find the simle question and answer to your problem. Not with this little sweetheart. The help section goes right to the point and answers are written in easy step-by step instructions to walk you through the problem. That alone is far beyond the little bit of money Epson wants for this color printer. The printer does run a little loud. Especially at night. It might sound loud at night but only because I'm trying not to wake-up anybody in my house. The printer prints a word page in less than 20-seconds and has a cancel or stop button so if you're printing emails you don't have to print all the headings and worthless stuff on the bottom. Epson 880 color printer has earned my Utmost Highest Respect. Look no further my friends...Regards Frank....
