Summary: I'm very pleased with this printer
Review: I've been using this printer for about 3 months, light duty, and am very pleased with it. The quality of black text is very good indeed, and color printing is quite nice. The limited number of photos I've printed look great. And it's fast!After living for years with the HP 560C's tri-color cartridge, I love the separate ink tanks. I always thought it was really lousy to have to throw out a tank that had ink left in two of the chambers, but was empty in the third. Canon hgas me sold! One thing - take your time aligning the print heads, and really try to do a precise job. It makes all the difference in the world with your print quality.

Review: i've had this printer for little over 5 months now, and i have to say that you get the best bang for your buck and then some. i looked over printers made by hp, lexmark, etc, even looking at some photo only printers and can't really tell the difference. i printed an 8x10 picture with heavy black ink usage and the print turned out way better than i had expected. further, it's so quiet, i sometimes have to hold my head near the printer to make sure it's running. hands down - a great printer. ...

Summary: Buyer Beware
Review: Let me tell you why I would never buy this printer again... Granted, I'm a novice at using photo printers, but I'm also a technical specialist and not totally naive when it comes to technology. I bought the printer wanting to reproduce photo-quality 4x6 pictures. Those I printed using the 5 sample sheets that were included with the printer were of excellent quality! The catch is, even though they say the printer is compatible with other papers, they don't tell you how to make that happen. I've tried two other paper types so far, and because they're all perforated slightly different than the Canon paper, they print off-center. No instructions are included on how to configure the printer to accept any other type of paper. And guess what... it's nearly impossible to find 4x6 canon paper at retail stores. You can get it on the Canon website if you feel like paying a steep price for shipping AND tax. What a scam. I'd keep looking if I were you...

Summary: Very happy with printer...
Review: Like most here, I am also very happy with my Canon 630. My biggest problem was printing photographs on non standard size paper. I am sure this was Operator Error, and the problem was more with the Canon Software that came with my Digital Camera, but I thought the photo quality was outstanding.

Review: Some of the reviews refer to horrible text quality - which I experienced until I learned how to use the printer. You have to set your print quality to "high" not "standard." It is a little slower, but it is very crisp print. I had the same problem printing photos until I learned how to use the settings. It produces nice 8x10's from my digital camera, and it's price per page is competitive. I only deducted a star for the fact that I had to discover how to get higher quality. The "standard" setting isn't good enough.

Summary: unmatched quality-speed-value
Review: The Canon S-630 is such a quality printer, I don't know why anyone would shop else where! It has good speed while printing text or photos. But the best part is the ink cost. I only replace the color I used and at ($) per color or ($) for all 3 colors and the black, why pay ($) for HP's 3-colors, with less than half the amount of ink in its cartridge than canons. You can waste your money if you want, I'm sticking with the S-630.

I'd seen this in a customer review and thought maybe they had bought a lemon, but the same thing has happened with my printer. Other than that, I like the individual ink tanks and photo print quality. But nothing looks good when there is a dark streak across your page!

Great for photo printing, i bought a sony digital camera and printed out wonderful photos!
canon is my new favorite printer, i have had many printers before and at first a bought a epson c80 and it printed lines and was not good at all.

would defintaly recomend it to any one who wants s good prices and high qualitly printer.
