Summary: Lexmark Z 54 Printer
Review: A step up from the Z45. No need to clean and adjust the print cartridges when replaced. It's all automatic!

Summary: This printer stinks.
Review: I have over the years had (and survived) with several different makes/types of low cost printers and hands down this is the worst one I have ever bought. The printer is an especial source of frustration when I am trying to print envelopes. I wanted to like this printer after having mixed results with HP and certainly liked the price, but have regreetted my decision to purchase this product after usi9ng for a couple days.

Summary: Don't buy it
Review: I have used several different printers over the years and this one has to be the worst that I have owned. As mentioned the paperfeed stinks, and the ink does not seem to last. I have soaked the cartage on wet paper towel to get it working again, but even that is a temperaroy fix. Printing envolopes is a nightmare. If this is what Lexmark is willing to dump on the market, I will for sure look eleswhere for my next printer. And probably in the near furture

Summary: a decent printer for its price
Review: i recently bought this printer and so far i have had no problems. I have printed full length 8x10 best quality color photos and every time the printer has printer superbly. I did experience a paper jam once, rather incorrect paper feed, i just pulled it out, reinserted it and the printer printed it properly. speeds for a 8x10 better quality color photo on a normal paper is 1ppm. with just text the printer is quite upto spec in printing speed and quality is excellent, no doubts there. catridges are costly though. even with color prints, if you use better quality instead of best, the printer does print quickly. overall i would recommend this printer.

Summary: Fine print quality -- lame paper feed - easy inkjet refill.
Review: I used this printer for about 2 years. Adequate print quality and speed for the low price. I became quite frustrated eventually with it because its paper feed mechanism began to jam frequently. It is difficult to clean the friction wheels which are probably the root cause. It seems to me an intrinsic design flaw to have a friction-based paper feed system oriented so that the wheels are exposed enough to collect dust, but not accessible for cleaning.
One major advantage of this printer was the ease of refilling the cartriges - no security code or interior safety pouches or anything to make it tough to do this.

Summary: No problems whatsoever! Excellent buy!
Review: I've had this printer now for about a year and a half, and have had NO problems with it whatsoever. The cartridges last a long time, you get an on screen ink level meter, and the print quality is very good. What more could you want for an inexpensive printer?

Summary: Absolutely great for the price range!
Review: I've used a lot of printers before, but the Lexmarks that I've used are by far the best. The Z45 is, without a doubt, a very good printer. The casing looks good (especially those chrome accents), and it prints superbly. The automatic cartridge alignment is a real plus (no more staring blankly at sheets of paper and trying to find the straightest line!), and the ink lasts for a very long time. It prints pretty fast, and it's very quiet. It turns on and off very quickly as well, something that some printers seem to have trouble with. There is no "warm-up" time -- when you press the button, it's ready to go. It even turns itself on when you send a document to it, so you don't have to worry about reaching for the power button before you print. To top it all off, the black ink available for this model is waterproof. Overall it's a very high quality printer that has a lot of features you'd expect to find in much higher-priced models. It's definately a good buy! The only con? It doesn't come with a USB cable.
