Rating: Summary: A Simple All-in-One Printer Review: After owning an Epson 880 printer, I decided to upgrade to an multifunction printer for it's features. I needed a printer/ scanner/copier. This is the printer for me. The plus side is it's simple features, ease of use, and price. The b/w copier makes the copies with simple push of the button. It also does color copy. The software allows me view my scanned pictures in a picture gallery, rename it, and then save the ones I want only. The printing quality for photo paper is acceptable. After comparison shopping, I found this model under $$$$ after rebate. Also, an added bonus, the printer comes with a USB cable connection($$$ value) which most printers require you to buy separately. The negatives are that XP Windows user should download a update/patch from microsoft.com for the software to run properly. No problem, I followed the instructions and the printer is up and running. The paper did jam once so I removed the paper and redid the print job. No problems with jamming since then. All in all, the Epson cx3200 is a reliable printer, scanner, and copier. It makes sense to own this printer for any small home business wanting to save time and money.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing product Review: All in one design is attractive but in practice this product does not meet expectations. No single component (scanner, copier or printer) works without annoying troubleshooting required. The printer cartridges from Epson are constantly being pushed anytime ink is low. The Epson cartridges are significantly overpriced compared to generic pieces. Another bothersome point is that once both the color and B/W cartidges are empty you will need to replace both in order to start print again. I am still looking for a low maintenance, plug n play printer that is ready for use anytime I need it. Input from friends is that I will only be happy when I shift to a laser printer.
Rating: Summary: What a disappointment Review: At first all of the features worked great, I have had this printer for only nine months and now the only feature still working relatively well is the black and white copying. The paper, no matter what quality it is, jams constantly. Numerous pages get sucked into the printer causing print job to sometime printo on two sheets rather than one. When printing in color, forget about it. There are streaks and lines through color prints, event the most simple two color red and black small graphics come out scratched. All of this even after cleaning the heads, aligining the heads, and doing nozzle checks as suggested by Epson. I don't know how other Epson products rate but this one is horrible and has caused me to have to use friends printers because I am in college and cannt afford another one.

Rating: Summary: Not User Friendly Review: I am fairly new to the world of computers as I'm sure many of you are. With that in mind I do not recommend this printer. First I am sold a brand new printer in which I have to go online to update the drivers. The instructions for this process are vague and conflicting. I found the color quality poor and the very expensive ink disappears at a rapid rate.
Rating: Summary: Epson Stylus CX3200 : Great Value 3 in 1 Review: I bought this 3 in 1 to replace an older epson 580 printer, which eventually expired after 3 years use.I like Epson printers I think they give good value for money and the print quality is good for the price range. My old Epson 580 was very noisy the cx3200 is noticeably quieter, and is of a superior build quality. The cx3200 represents great value for money combining a printer, scanner and stand alone photocopier,a very usefull feature you do not get with all 3 in 1 machines.(no PC connection required). The cx3200 falls somewhere bettween the home user and the small office user and would be at its best in a home business environment, where it is robust enough to cope with sizable print jobs, without being overlarge and industrial for the home environment. The one overwhelming problem with this printer is the cost of the ink carts £20, and £28 for the original Epson cartridges . Also the cartridges are fitted with an intelligent chip which records the ink levels inside the cartridge. This chip is designed so that the cartridge must be thrown away and a new one purchased as when you refil the cartridge the chip does not register the refil.without this information the printer will not function. As with most printers compatibles can be purchased for half the price, and refil kits seem to be the only affordable way of running the machine. This leaves the problem of the intelligent chip, which renders the cartridge unusable after use. This problem has been overcome by at least one ink supplier on the web who sell for about £10 a chip resetter which means you can refil the Epson cartridges that come with the machine about 10 times before it wears out, and if you buy your ink refil bottles at the right place you can refil your cartridge for about £1, as opposed to Epsons £28 a time refil for colour and £20 for black.I think this works with the other new Epson printers which also use this new system of cartridges. With this problem overcome it makes the cx3200 a very attractive prospect being economical to run and producing very high quality images. I have been taking some digital macro photography recently and the printed photos from this printer have been very crisp and detailed indeed. At the other end of the scale I have also been using it for b&w text copying which it does very clearly and quickly. I have not owned a scanner before and have found this a very usefull adition. The scanner allows you to pre-scan the image to make sure you have the correct alignment and then offers a range of resolutions to scan the image proper. The best resolution can the be selected depending on the speed of your computer and size of your hard drive. I have found that with a laptop it is better to choose a lower resolution or the speed of scanning and saving becomes too slow to be usable. I have found this printer works well with windows 98 on my laptop though I have read reviews to the contrary about windows 98, I have had no problems. There is only one real problem I have had with this printer and that it can be prone to paper jams for no apparent reason. The settings for the paper preferences are not very specific and do not cope with all kinds of paper I have tried. I used a cheap unbranded paper for a while which I found was very prone to jamming, probably because I have not found the correct paper setting, but this is very much trial and error as the paper settings on the machine are very vague. I have also used Kodak and Epson paper for which the machine is optimised and had no problems at all. I do not think it is a serious problem but this aspect of the machine could have been better designed I would recommend this machine to anyone upgrading from an ordinary printer to a 3 in 1,or just replacing an existing multi function printer.
Rating: Summary: I love this machine! Review: I bought this all in one right before going to college. It was a wonderful investment! I have read all of the reviews and it sounds like those few people had a bad experience, but I love mine! It is so convenient. I use mine all the time for the scanning and other people that use mine comment on how easy it is to use. I have XP and I did not have to download anthing, so I don't know if Epson has changed it or what. I would recommend this printer/scanner/copier highly. The only negative is the price of the ink, but I have found that it is cheaper than my last printer's ink (an HP). Totally worth buying this one!
Rating: Summary: excellent all-around Review: i bought this all-in-one epson cx3200 in march,2003 unlike the previous reviewer there is nothing broken out of box, i'm sure its just a isolated incident.. anywayz, the print quality is awesome! i could hardly distinguish the original when printing on photo paper. and yes, when printing at its highest resolution it does take about 3 min for a full page of photo. text print is very close to laser quality, very sharp. alot faster than printing in photo. copy function works perfectly. there are 2 buttons, one for black copy and one for color copy. both works good because the scanning and printing goes concurrently. scanning is good as well.
Rating: Summary: crappest printer ever!!! Review: I bought this printer about a year ago and ever since i bought it theres been problems. First when i got it i suppose it printed ok pictures but after a few days there was lines and streaks all over my color pictures, also the black text had lots of lines and spots of black ink where there shouln't be. After that the printer wouldn't work it kept saying communication error, so i could not print off the computer, only photo copy which was crap and took ages!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent machine....cost of Ink Is expensive!! Review: I must say I really like this machine. The cost of ink is expensive, but like all things, you can get around it. First of all you can buy the ink cartidges on-line for $7 a cartidge. That is a lot cheaper than the $50 @ futureshop. On top of that you can can buy a chip resetter and fill the ink cartidges up yourself for even cheaper!!!! I highly recommend it!!!
I just printed off over 4000 sheets in the past three days. This machine did a GREAT job!!! Time to time, you have to clean the heads but that is nothing. (u just press clean heads on the computer and there you go) I would recommend this machine. I use this machine almost on a daily baises. However I wish the photocopier was quicker. Oh well.
