Summary: Please don't buy this printer!
Review: Based on recommendations I read about this product, I bought one --- and am I sorry!

The first printer did well at the beginning, but after I printed several pages over a period of time, it started jamming on one side where the paper is pulled through. After repeated attempts to clear the problem, I reported this to Lexmark who sent a replacement.

The second printer had the same problem, so that was also replaced.

I am now on my third printer....although it jams occasionally, the new problem now is that the paper is pulled unevenly, so that every single prints crookedly.

The funny thing is, with this third printer, the instructions I received is to get rid of the second one instead of returning it (guess they didn't want the defective product, either).

At any rate, I am extremely unhappy with this product, and wish I didn't buy it. With so many inexpensive choices today from better known and more reliable printer manufacturers, my experience illustrates the old adage "You get what you pay for."

So if you're contemplating buying this product, or any other Lexmark product ---- DON'T !!!

Summary: Budget printer, or Buggy Printer?
Review: For some reason, I have yet to understand that you get what you pay for. I fell for it when I bought this printer. It claimed such high resolution, a decent print speed, and a reputable name. But I was fooled.

The first thing you have to do is hush up that foolish voice that reminds you that the printer is beginning to work. Never mind that the whole house will probably know that you are printing something because it is so loud.

The printer has a habit of feeding itself more than one sheet of paper when it only wants one. It also likes to take a rest every now and then, claiming it has a "problem communicating with the printer", despite the fact that nothing looks abnormal.

The ink cartridges are expensive, but since they are large the seem to be worth the money. A better design would make the ink cartridge separate from the print head, so you don't have to buy expensive chipsets just to reload ink.

I've had the printer for a little over three months and it has already caused my machine to freeze (crash) more than ten times.

This is a lousy printer...but you get what you pay for.

Summary: Big Printer Driver (Softward) Problems
Review: I am unable to use my Lexmark printer because the driver software is apparently incompatible with my operating system, Windows XP. No help was forthcoming form customer support. I have updated the driver and associated software from the Lexmark website but the driver still crashes. I would stay away from Lexmark.

Summary: A great little printer for the price
Review: I got this printer packaged with a new Dell system. I usually always go with HPs, but this little printer is a jewel. It's not the fastest in the world, but resolution and print quality are excellent, and it just prints away with no problems. Small footprint means it fits on even crowded desks. Replacement cartridges are reasonably priced. My daughter is going away to college, and I think I am going to buy another one for her laptop.

Summary: This model is no good!
Review: I have also had lexmark and never had any problems before until I bought this model. It would NOT print and made a grinding noise. So I returned that model and got another one (I thought any thing can happen in shipping). This model did the same thing. I even called tech support and they said there was something wrong with the second one. I do NOT recommend this model to anyone.

Summary: Not bad, but rather slow
Review: I have had my printer for awhile now. It isn't the worst printer in the world, although it does print slow. Gives me more headaches than anything. I don't have the problems of paper jams and bad ink splots, but it does seem to use a lot of ink. All in all it isn't bad for the price, however I am considering buying a different model. Then maybe I can get my work printed faster!!

Summary: The Good and the Bad
Review: I have really enjoyed the quality of this printer since I upgraded my motherboard and added Windows XP. I have had no problems with it and my digital images have been just awesome.

On the flip side this printer is a nightmare with Windows 98 SE. I experienced all the problems reported from other gripers...paper jams, driver errors, misfeeds, multi-page feeds, crooked pages, etc. I used to have to reboot my system to reactivate my printer. It was very frustrating. It cleared up immediately with my PC change. It was like night and day. Even print speed improved.

I think the biggest issue with this printer is OS compatibility. I also think that anyone who does digital imaging will be rapidly going through ink. I haven't found a printer yet that doesn't drain the ink resources when making photo prints.

Summary: Free with Dell
Review: I know always to use caution when using anything that comes free, and this printer proves that point. The paper is always jamming, to get two readable pages I will have to print between 6-8 pages. This a a big drain on ink, I have had it a year and have gone through 2 black carts and have thrown away more paper than my son can draw on!

Summary: A Giant Misstep
Review: I thought that after "winning" a Z-32 in a raffle, I was making an upgrade over the Lexmark Z-11 I currently ownded. It was not long after I found a good home for my Z-11 that I found out I was mistaken.

Everything that could go wrong with this printer did go wrong. I had uneven page pulls (yielding crooked copys), paper jams, claims of paper jams when no such thing occured, "problems communicating with the printer", issues with the ink cartridges, print jobs that occassionally crashed my computer, etc.

The final straw came when the printer cartridges could not be found anywhere in stores. I broke down and bought a new (Lexmark)printer.

My adivce is, if you want a cheap, reliable, versatile, quality printer, buy a Lexmark printer BUT, do not, I REPEAT, do not buy THIS Lexmark printer.

Summary: close but no cigar
Review: If you are on a budget and need a reliable printer but this one it is a farely good one. I would have gave it 5 stars but thw text printing is not as crisp as it should be for a printer that prints such good photos ;)
