Rating: Summary: Piece of junk Review: This printer is a piece of junk. The software with it sucks, the printer is slow, and the print quality is bad. The ink cartriges are expensive (they are worth more than the printer itself now!). The printer insists upon cutting off the last half inch of text or it prints in the wrong way. The ink cartrige get very bad life.Beware this printer!
Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware! Review: This printer is awful. It's what I get for trying to save money. First, I've never seen a printer use this much ink. The money you saved on the printer will be returned to Lexmark in spades with ink cartridges. Finally, when this clunker stopped printing in color, forget about technical support. The printer's troubleshooter is the worst I've ever seen for any hardware. The company's website stinks too. Perhaps coincidentally, my first Compaq (now Lexmark)printer found its way into the garbage, but lasted 2 1/2 years. This one made it about 6 months. Do yourself a big favor and spend a few more bucks on a higher-quality printer. I would advise against Lexmark.

Rating: Summary: What A Fun Printer Review: We have ended up with two lexmark printers. They came free with computers that we purchased. I found out why. We had installation problems anf when we tried the customer support we got alot of e-mails that said all of the same thing but no real help. We finally got one of the printers to work but it still would give an error message every time we started it up. It used alot of ink and you rarely find the black ink cartridges. The other printer has become junk. I took it to a computer programmer that I work with and he told me the same thing that lexmark support did. I am glad to see that they at least give away most of their junk so at least you don't feel like you paid for it. BUY THIS PRINTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent, Reliable, Quality Printer for Low Cost :-) Review: When I bought my iMac about a year ago, it was bundled with the Lexmark Z23 printer. While a bit skeptical of the printer initially (I had never heard of Lexmark before I ordered the computer), I quickly came to truly enjoy it!!! I cannot speak to the PC software, but the Macintosh software for the Z23 is excellent. Everything is rather straightforward in terms of installation and usability. Printing can be done on four quality levels, and all can be selected and saved as defaults (using "Quick" is great for black-ink-only documents, such as word processing documents, to save ink - and the quality is just as great and readable as if using "Best"). The Print Monitor icon which usually sits on the desktop is replaced by a friendlier and easier-to-use Lexmark version. Perhaps best of all, the Z23 works quite nicely with my 7-port USB hub, even though almost all the ports are in use. Even when printing while using another device connected to the hub, there is no slowdown in data transmission unless the CPU is working on a clock-intensive task (such as opening a Web page with heavy formatting dictates). Print quality is excellent. Occasionally, perhaps once per week, I need to realign the print cartridges. Otherwise, the images look absolutely flawless in "Best" quality, and great in "Better" (which is what I generally use for printing color images). "Quick" is great for documents requiring only black ink, as mentioned above. And Z23 printer ink can be purchased at a wide variety of stores which sell office and/or computer products. The Lexmark Z23 should be strongly considered by anyone looking for a new and fairly cheap printer. The low cost should not deter anyone from this gem!!!
