Rating: Summary: Love my Epson! Review: I upgraded from a Lexmark X73 and I'm so glad I did. Huge improvement. It is loud when it first takes the paper feed but so what. Great quality pics from my digital cam. Easy, fast operation.I also love the fold up paper output tray... keeps my kids from sticking their toys up there! Anyone with little kids will appreciate that feature.
Rating: Summary: What a simple set-up & software Review: I've only had the multifunction cx5200 for a few hours, but I am so impressed I had to write. I replaced an Epson C82 that will replace an Epson C900 (that I will give away). I've been sold on Epson for years now, and have never, EVER, had a problem with any one of them. This installation was a breeze. What I like most about the CX5200, is the fact you place your document/photo on the glass, hit the scan button, and let it know if you want it printed, filed, etc. and that's it. No need to open any other program. I was always having to use my fax machine to make copies...not any more. That was the main reason I replaced my C82. I highly recommend this printer. Peter
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable Printer, Unbeatable Price Review: I bought an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 for printing pictures, but I quickly realized that I needed a second printer to do the bulk of my work... printing out 100+ page documents on a photo printer seemed to be a waste. I went out to purchase a laser printer and expected to pay [alot more money for it] for it. After looking around and not being very happy with what I saw, I happened to come across the Epson CX5200 All-In-One. I was very impressed by the construction and I've always been a big fan of Epson. Then I saw the price... about [cheaper]. I was absolutely stunned, but at the same time I was a bit uneasy. I couldn't see how a printer/copier/scanner could be so cheap and actually be good. It's been a week now since I bought it, and I think I'm more excited about this printer then the expensive Photo printer I bought. I've printed out well over 500 pages and I'm still on the same ink cartidges. Print and scan quality is excellent, and the color/black&white copier mode is perfect. The print speed is also incredibly fast and prints faster then my old laser printer. For the price, it is by far, the best printer I ever bought.
Rating: Summary: Epson CX5200 for PC & Mac...A True Friend to Both..Read Me! Review: As a PC & Mac User, I haved used the Epson CX5200 for 6 months now and here's the info every ready needs to know about this printer.... 1. Ease of Setup and Use. Just follow the instruction (yes fellow men, that means follow them to the tee!) and you'll be up in no time. 2. Print Quality. 9 out of 10. Good printing for Photo's but get the photo paper if you want to take advantage of the great pictures for home or friends. 3. Copy / Scan / Print & Fax (yes, you can fax). Copying a document is too easy as well as scanning. Faxing, is just as easy. If you have an internal modem (pc or mac), then you too can fax. Just push the scan button on the CX5200 and the software automatically takes you through the rest. Overall, you can network this printer as well and this out performs most of the HP series (PSC 2100 2200 7150 7350 7550). Avoid the CX3200 and get this one...5280 x 1440 print quality, who can go wrong.
Rating: Summary: Still a winner Review: This is the third Epson Printer/product I've owned since 1993 - LOVE IT - the trueness of the colors, the separate ink cartridges is a great improvement, and the scanner is fast and easy to use - the resolution is all I could ask - it handles my 100+ year-old photos well. If and ADF attachment were available for it - I'd think it perfect!
Rating: Summary: Hated it Review: I had problems with the colors... I don't have time or ink to waste teetering with the 3-colors to get a natural pic. Plus my computer froze when I used it...
Rating: Summary: Works with a Macintosh great, if you just follow directions Review: While the installation process was a bit more than I am used to having to go through for Mac software, the machine runs flawlessly when all of the software is installed. GREAT quality and I think it is a very fast printer too. To the person who had the problems with the message "You need OS X 10.2 for this software", you are trying to install the wrong driver. You need the 5.7.3 driver, NOT the 5.7.5 driver to use this in OS 9.x. Overall, an AMAZING machine, that does not use up ink very fast at all. A HUGE upgrade from my old Epson 740, that I am glad I spent the money on. :-)
Rating: Summary: Love this printer Review: This printer has been trouble free from the start, printing away loads of 8x10 pictures from my travels in beautiful and rich colors. It does not seem to use large amounts of ink, and I like the fact that one can change the three colors individually, cutting down on waste. Just wish it did borderless photo printing. It's noisy tho, it's only other drawback in my opinion. Setting it up on my Mac Powerbook OS 9.2 was a breeze, and I like the fact that I'll be able to use the OS X Jaguar once I get my new dream computer, or even Windows XP, if someone held a gun to my head.
Rating: Summary: Don't Buy Review: I purchased a CX5200 in January 2003, everything worked fine until I changed the cartridges using Epson replacements. Since then I have received three replacements, one would print but not copy, one was soaked in oil (inside the plastic bag), the last one printed and copied for a couple of times, and then stopped working. All of these machines were tried on two separate computers. I have just [thrown]the last one [away]. What a waste of time on money.
Rating: Summary: Don't buy if you have a MAC Review: I just bought this thing and I must say, it looks great. I'd like to be able to use it. All of the info about it, including that on the CD label, say that it can be used with the MAC OS 8.6 to 9x. It can also be used with MAC OS X and Windows, etc. I have OS 9.2 but I can't install the software because I get an error message that OSX is required. My email to tech support was returned with as "undeliverable" but the address used came from their book. I have called their tech support number (not an 800) and been on hold for over half an hour before giving up. I will have to either get OSX, or send it back. MJBE in DC
