Rating: Summary: Why can't I give it zero stars? Review: I too have clogged printheads. Used Epson brand ink only. Got to print around 100 prints, then troubles hit.
I'm shopping for an HP as we speak.
Rating: Summary: Frusterated Review: I have had a C82 printer for about a year and a half. I've been generally satisfied with it until now. I recently replaced the black ink cartridge, and now hardly (if any) black comes out when I print. I have tried Epson's print head cleaning tool several times, but that did not help. I did buy 3rd-party ink, but that's because Epson's own black ink cartridge for this printer costs about $35 - too expensive, in my opinion, when other brands' black ink cartridges for this printer (and others) sell for around $16. I don't know if the print head is clogged, or how it would've gotten clogged by only replacing the ink cartridge, but I need a working printer!
Here are the pros & cons I'd give this printer:
Pros:
- High-speed printing
- Individual color ink cartridges (rather than one single 3-color cartridge)
- High-quality printing
Cons:
- Expensive black ink from Epson
- Print heads clog relatively quickly (I've read this in other reviews)
- Long warm-up time (although it prints fast, the printer would often do its warm-up thing for at least 1 full minute before it would start printing)
I think I'm going to replace my printer today. I'm tired of this frustration.
Rating: Summary: The blue print nozzle clogged Review: A bought the C82 because I wanted a printer compatible with Linux. This one is Linux compatible and I have no complaints in that regard.
The problem is that the blue print nozzle clogged and no amount of running the "head cleaning" utility has had any effect. I had the same problem on an Epson 640 that this printer replace. I am beginning to wonder if there is a design flaw in the Epson print heads that make them succeptible to print head clogging or if it is ink related. In any case I would not recommend this printer for color printing or for that matter Epson color ink jet printers in general. They clog.
Rating: Summary: Epson Inkjets No Good Review: I had both the C82 and the older 850 inkjets died in a year. I don't think I will ever get an Epson or an inkjet again. Clogged valves after just a year of owning it? Unacceptable.
Rating: Summary: Bad experience Review: I used this printer about 1 year after I bought it. While it works the prints are good, but it died with clogged heads.
In my family this is the second C82 to do this. The other one lasted not even a year.
Can't recommend buying this device at all.
