Rating: Summary: Fantastic Product Review: This product met then exceeded my expectations. For example, I was not really expecting much with the digital camera slots on the side although I do have an Olympus 3030 digital camera. To my suprise, when I inserted my card into the slot, the HP software took over and made printing and managing the transfer of pictures incredibly easy. Not to mention I did not have to use my camera's USB cable and suck all the juice from the camera to conduct a transfer.
Rating: Summary: High Expectations Unmet Review: After much searching for an officejet to replace my old HPk45, I decided on the 2210. It was the right size, had the right features and the right price. However, after setting it up, I found that it would not scan when attached to my new Dell Dimension 4550 running XP. My first call to HP resulted in this advice: Dell has problems with their USB ports, and, get a powered USB hub. Dell denied a problem. My second call resulted in more honesty. The rep admitted that the printer has problems and that corporate has not addressed them because of their preoccupation with the Compaq merger. Only lately have they taken notice of the complaints. I asked the rep which Officejet he recommended, and he replied unequivocally, the D135. So I returned the 2210 and bought a D135. It cost more, but it has more versatility, is less costly on consumables, and it does scan!!!
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Good Review: Very high quality photo production, copying, faxing, character recognition scanning, printing. Easy set up. Great online support. It even takes the card from my Olympus digital camera, prints a proof sheet that allows the user to indicate which photos should be printed in full size. Even copies the disk contents from the printer to the computer. Very pleased with the purchase.
Rating: Summary: What a cool product! Review: I just purchased this printer for my girlfriend who loves printing photos and creating stuff. I had the printer up and running in under 20 minutes. The pictures are stunning. The software is pretty cool. I have not printed useing photo paper or the photo ink. I am sure the pictures will be even better!
Rating: Summary: Pleasantly Surprised Review: I was a little leary in buying a multifunctional machine, but after buying and trying this HP PSC 2210 Multifunction Copier Plus, my fears were relieved. I've tried every function. Even sent a fax using my regular phone line and it worked like a charm. ( I didn't have to send the fax, but I did it just for for giggles.) My photo copies are hanging on the wall in my dining room and relatives are nagging me for blow ups of family photos I've shot and copied with the HP 2210.So far so good.
Rating: Summary: Useful and attractive Review: I have used every function on this machine except the fax in the five days since this machine was delivered. I am very pleased with its performance. The HP 2210 is for low volume or for low speed use. If you need a lot of copies quickly, this is not the machine for you. But for purely personal use, it's great. I'm very glad I bought it. I bought mine from HP directly, btw.
Rating: Summary: It's Great When It Works, Lousy when you need support! Review: The features on the hp psc 2200 series all-in-one are really wonderful, when they work. After about 6 months, problems started to arise. The first was the photo card getting stuck and not releasing. Called support and went through all kinds of instructions to no avail. Got cut off from India somehow and immediately called back. I think I got someone in the USA because there was no accent and was immediately put through to a technician who argreed that the machine was faulty and to please return it when the "reconditioned" replacement arrived. The next machine worked for about 3 months and then started having problems, all lights flashing, refusing to do anything. Talked to India again, after trying all sorts of things, nothing worked and I was told that they would replace it, BUT then they said that the machine was out of warranty and was registered to someone else (from the serial # info). I explained that it was a reconditioned replacement and still couldn't get any satisfaction. I finally asked for a supervisor and got the same song and dance, finally he asked for my receipt to be forwarded to them, I explained that I didn't have the receipt, they said get it over the internet and print it out, I said, "HOW" The printer won't work. Finally, after me going into hysterics, they agreed to send ANOTHER replacement. I ended up returning it unopened as my son came and found the problem and fixed it. Since then, I have had more problems with the FAX, but now they have mysteriously cleared up! My warrenty will be up in about a week or so and after reading about how one consumer was told that he would be charged $58 to talk to a technician, I am getting nervous. As I said, great machine, but lots of problems and lousy support. I would suggest that HP consider getting their support back to the good old USA. I would never buy one again.
Rating: Summary: worst peice of junk imaginable Review: This unit is terrible. Paper stutters, jams, spits out two at a time or worse one and a half at a time, printer tries to print on high ink setting no matter what the preset shows, fax answers the phone no matter what settings, total ink, paper, label, time waster. freemusic@billkahler.com
Rating: Summary: Other reviews confirm a very high failure rate Review: My own experience with the psc 2210 has been remarkably similar to the worst that other reviewers have described: repeated failures, comnpany refusal to stand by its products, poor technical support. What has struck me is how high a percentage of reviewers have given the 2210 one star out of five - and that seems grudging for many of them!
Reliability is the most important consideration for me, and, in my experience, the 2210 is simply not reliable. Given the low expectations we have gotten used to for consumer electronics, that in itself is not shocking. What DOES disturb me is the "We've got your money, so we're happy even if you're not" attitude that seems to go all the way to the top of the HP customer service organization. As a result, HP, a company I used to admire, is off my list.
Rating: Summary: No problems so far. Review: I bought this printer when it first came out, I'm not sure how long that is maybe about two years ago and as far have had no problems with it. You can make copies and fax without it even being hooked up to a computer. I use it fairly often about three times a week and I think it is very easy to use. The pictures I have printed out on it are great quality. (I always use HP ink and high quality photo paper)It has never jammed up, faxing and scanning are easy, the ppm speed is decent and you can print pictures straight from any type of media card. Overall it is a great all-in-one at a great price. For the people who are having problems with printing and jamming, I would recommend using better paper, HP ink and you also have to take the time out and clean the printer like it tells you to in the manual.
