Rating: Summary: Slow but accurate Review: ... After a thorough search and reviews, it came down to Epson. The ink supplier's cost for Epson cartridges was very reasonable and based on that and Epson's reputation, I went with the Epson C44UX. It's a slim, space saving printer. Measures about 17" which fit on my shelf very nicely. It's lightweight, but most printers today are lightweight. I was very concerned about the ink cartridges and was pleased that it took two ink cartridges. ... This Epson has an ink status screen. When it prints the status box pops up and you see how much ink is available. This printer is noisy, as are all inkjet printers. It's a poor paper grabber. Better to put 10 sheets in the feeder tray vs. a lot. .... The printing speed is average, about 6 ppm. The color is brilliant. The USB cable connection accommodates the newer computers. The USB cable is not included with the printer, which will require an additional $10 cost Installing the CD software drivers was a snap. Just put the CD in the tray and it instantly started up. Overall, This printer will be used for short-term until I can afford to get a better printer.

Rating: Summary: Slow but accurate Review: I originally purchased this printer to do crude color labels. When I tried using it for photo output, it turned out to be quite good. It takes a long time to produce a 7.5 x 5 print on heavy 8.5 x 11 matte photo paper, like, about 12 to 15 minutes, but the results are excellent. One set of cartridges will print out about 75 large size photo prints. The accuracy is excellent and the resolution is excellent also. I've used older HP color printers and there were always problems with banding or ink wash out, or something or other, but this little printer has produced very consistent, good quality prints. I have gotten the best photo enlarging results using Epson Premium Lustre Photo Paper. I'm not sure how fast the more expensive printers are, but if time is no object, this printer is a good choice.
