Rating: Summary: Ink prints wet and smudges. Slows down computer. Buy Epson Review: I'm sorry I bought this Canon printer but positive reviews influenced me into making a bad decision. When you send something to the printer you cannot do anything with your computer until the printer starts printing...VERY annoying. I didn't see any printing as fast as the specs suggested. If you print on cheap bond the wet ink soaks into it and the type is blurry. You can't use a yellow highlighter pen or the ink smudges. Pick up the prints before they dry and it will smudge. My old Epson didn't do this and the Epson photo paper is superb...wish I bought a new Epson instead.
Rating: Summary: I love it! Review: I am not the most knowledgeable person on this subject but because of the ease of set up and the quality of the prints I have to give this product a 5 star rating. I made this purchase to compliment my Canon Power Shot G-2 camera and I couldn't be happier. My wife was skeptical but after just a few photos she has realised the savings, time, and ease that we will enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Great photos, but only with Canon paper Review: Setup the printer with no problems (WinXP). Text printed fast and crisp. Printed out a photo using some Kodak Glossy Photo Paper I purchased from Sam's Club. The photos were overall dark and dull - My 2-yr old HP printer did better than that! Tried various printer settings with same result. Contacted Canon: They said that the printer driver was optimized for their paper. Finally, tried the trial Canon 4x6 Photo Paper Pro that came with printer. Excellent results; looked like a photograph. Looks like I'll have to be buying Canon paper for all my future photo printing. Would have rated this printer five stars if it had been insensitive to brands of photo papers.
Rating: Summary: Great printer for good price Review: Bought Epson 60C initially at another retailer. Read all reviews on Amazon and PC magazines. Turned in my Epson after 2 days even though the Epson was only [money]. After you switch cartridges few times, Epson started costing more. Have been printing color and text. Text looks sharp matching laser. I have been in printing industry for over 15 years and am impressed by this printer and other comparables' image quality. Printed a sample photo on a sample borderless photo paper and it looks just like a real photo print from a 35mm film. To an average eye, it looks better than your average 35mm film output. Only complaint is it gets noisy sometimes when I turn it on and at other seemingly random times. After I switched out of a surge protector and plugged it in directly to wall outlet, the random adjustments of the inkjet head (and associated noise) got eliminated quite a bit. Overall, would recommend this printer (especially now that I got a ... price match from a local retailer). ...
Rating: Summary: Great price, Great machine Review: I love this printer! We had a Lexmark 1100. The S520 is so much faster, it uses less ink and the colors only have to be replaced, not a whole cartridge. It does whir around a bit before it prints it's first copy of the day, but once you are used to that, no problems. We use draft quality unless it is an important picture or document and you can barely tell the difference. Have owned it since 4/2002 and haven't need new ink yet!
Rating: Summary: Perfect for an all around low cost printer Review: If you are in the market for an economical low cost printer, this is the one. I really like the 4 tank system that keeps your wallet happy. When I printed my first 4X6 Picture I was blown away by the great color and sharpness. This is a keeper.
Rating: Summary: Works well with a Canon digital camera Review: Easy to install, friendly, and reasonably fast. Make sure to download driver update and Easy Photo software, available for free from Canon web site.
Rating: Summary: Great Printer Review: I just received my new Canon printer S520. I previous owned a Canon 4300 model and wanted to improve my photo color printing. The S520 prints great photo printing on the sample 4x6 gloss paper that comes with the printer. You can use your old LPT cable for this printer. The speed is slow, but it worth the wait. The quality is great. This is exactly what I wanted in a printer for the price.
Rating: Summary: How easy can it get? Review: Ordered Canon S520 printer on a Sunday from Amazon.com at a price plus shipping that was lower than 90% of their competiton. Printer arrived on the following Wednesday. It came complete except USB cable which is standard these days for printers and I knew it was not supplied by manufacturer. It took me about 45 minutes from opening the box to printing the first color photo to set the printer up on Win98 2nd OS. It runs just like advertised. Does excellent job on both color and black and white printing. I did not care about the black and white because I have a HP laser that is my default doc. printer. Absolutely amazing! How easy can it get?
Rating: Summary: 4 X 6 paper Review: I deleted all of the review that was on here previously. After many, many e-mails with Canon, the printer will print on 4 X 6 photo paper. It tells me to change the size, but I just igmore it. One representative suggested that I use the Canon ZoomBrowser. That makes you enter a whole file of pictures, but somehow, after that, I was able to print one picture, not using ZoomBrowser. ...
