Rating: Summary: There are many better alternatives Review: Lexmark really tried -- they included the USB cord instead of shorting you, they included two standard ink cartridges (one black, one color) instead of giving you half-filled cartridges, and they priced it right. Then they built it wrong. The black ink cartridge prints a slightly faint image, the color is useful only for office-type presentations (banding is prominent and the image is fuzzy if you use it for a photograph, and the color reproduction is extremely poor) the machine is flimsy, loud, and far slower than the rated speed. The built-in photo slots don't work too well -- the transfer speed is not nearly as good as with a standard USB card reader, and the included software is clumsy and difficult. My HP 930c is almost as fast, quieter, and though not billed as a 'photo printer' produces better images (and much better text) print. The way printers are improving, any time a 5 year old printer is better than a brand new one, you know there's something wrong. After rebates I only paid $15 for this, and it was so disappointing that I'd have sent it back if the cost of shipping weren't equal to the cost of the printer. Short version -- it's just barely worth having if it's free.
Rating: Summary: Excellent printer Review: One of the best photo printers i own. This one prints quality pictures, really fast and very quiet. When I say best, i am comparing with other photo printers of the same price range. The software is not that user friendly but includes all the features necessary to make a good print. Take advantage of this printer. Done several experiments with this printer so far and found out that this is a very decent printer. Built-in memory card reader is another asset to this printer.
