Rating: Summary: lasted 6 weeks Review: After about 6 weeks of owning this printer, I can't get it to print properly. From the troubleshooting guide, it appears the print head already needs replacing. Not exactly worth the cheap price if this is only as long as it lasts.
Rating: Summary: A great little printer at a value price Review: At its value price point, perhaps you can't expect perfection from the Canon i250,(...) I find very few reasons to complain. First off, the quality of printing was surprising for a standard, 4 ink printer, even on digital photos. For photo prints, does it perform as well as, say, an HP Photosmart 7960 with its 8 inks (which is over 4x the cost)? Of course it doesn't. But for routine use, even on the occasional photo, it's really not bad. When in its normal printing mode, it's not a speed demon, but it does perform reasonably well, and is typical of printers in its class. On the up side, consumables for this printer are remarkably affordable, providing somewhat of a disincentive to pursue refill kits. They also seem to have a fair and reasonable number of prints per cartridge change. But if you do choose to refill, I've found the print cartridges in the i250 refill easily and effectively, free of print-counter chips (so popular in Epson's printers these days) that are such a pain. And speaking of Epson, recent Epson inkjets I've used will end-up with clogged print nozzles if the printer sits unused even for only a couple of days. Not so here; I've gone weeks between prints, and it fires-up and works perfectly each time. Also a plus is the printer's compact size. While you still need to allow space for paper movement, when not in use, the top folds down and it's small, shoebox size let's you put it most anywhere. Truly, at this price, almost anyone can afford one, and it'd be money well spent in my book.
Rating: Summary: USB cable Review: Can not use my new Canon i250, it doesn't come with a USB. No where is this fact mentioned in the description. All of my other printers came with a USB cable and all ready to go when received. If I had known this I would have ordered the cable at the same time. Now I have to reorder and pay extra shipping to get the cable. Circuit City has USB cables for $30 and Office Depot is $20 and only $6.74 on Amazon.... that's a really big price difference. So, it is to my best interest to buy from the internet and wait another 7 days before I can use the printer.
Rating: Summary: Perfect inexpensive ink-jet Review: Considering this printer costs less than the ink for most other ink-jet printers, it has far exceeded my expectations. It prints quickly and has accurate color, what more can you ask from a $50 printer? Another reviewer mentioned that it does not work with Mac OS 10.3 (Panther), they are wrong. There is a patch you can download and install at: http://www.usa.canon.com/techfiles which makes it work perfectly in Panther. Somebody else complained about it not including a USB cable, which it doesn't, as mentioned in the technical specs page. This makes it no different from any other USB printer sold in the last 3 years, so be sure to purchase a USB cable. If you are looking for a cheap no-frills printer that probably costs less than the ink for other printers, I highly reccomend this printer!
Rating: Summary: Do not buy this if you are on Mac OSX Panther Review: Do not get this if you are running OSX 10.3.2 Panther it will not work it a wast of time and money
Rating: Summary: Paper Feed Review: For the price this printer does OK printing, but the paper feed is very poor. Every time I need to print something, I have to manually force each piece of paper into the paper roller.
Rating: Summary: Remember $350 for a dot-matrix Review: How far we have come! You may have noticed that we may be getting to the point that it may be cheaper to buy a new printer than to replace a cartridge. This printer is a bit noisy, but the speed and print quality, especially for the money, is exeptional. What an amazing value.
Rating: Summary: A Student's Dream Printer! Review: I am a college student, and I bought the i250 seeking a small, efficient printer for printing papers, etc. It is wonderful! It is clean and compact, very quick, and the quality is way beyond what I expected for a $50 printer. I highly recommend it for the student who wants efficiency and convenience for as little cash as possible. Also, ink cartridges are super cheap, which is a major plus.
Rating: Summary: Good stuff... ^.^ Review: I bought this printer because of the good reviews here, and I was not at all disappointed. This printer is better than the $100 one I had before! It is a little loud, but the print quality is excellent, and it doesn't take up a whole lot of space. Not to mention the $6 ink cartridges. You're not going to find a better deal if you want a printer for text documents and the like.
Rating: Summary: Great Little Printer! Review: I bought this printer here in Feb and just love it! It is very light and small but prints great. It has amazing detail when printing color pictures. I have printed over 100 pages and my black in is just starting to run low. Super Deal!!
