Review: ...unless you only intend to print color photos in very standard sizes on very standard paper. Limited print features set....weak software interface. HP chat and email help is really worthless. AI "I understand how you feel. I understand you want to print pictures?" etc. etc. Manuals are very weak. No help on the website.

Summary: Excellent printer - paid $129 at Costco
Review: Best photo printer I ever have owned. Easy set-up. Quick printing, great colors, love the little LCD screen that shows the picture as it prints. Reads directly from compact flash card; no computer needed. Ink and paper are expensive, but I'm worth it.Downside: paper path a little convoluted but no problems. Perfect companion for my Nikon CoolPix 5400 digital camera.

Summary: Broken after printing 16 pictures, stay away from this one.
Review: Bought a 7760 printer to use for photo printing. After printing 16 pictures it had an error that the cartridges were bad. Bought new cartridges ($68), this did not help. Called HP customer service, I do not speak whatever language the call center personnell do. I tried several times until I finally got someone to send me a replacement. The first replacement never arrived, there was some sort of error in the HP system sending the replacement. they would not re-send for four weeks and several calls to the tech center. 5 weeks later when replacement did arrived it too has the same error, it does not accept the cartridges either. Tested the cartridges on a friends 6110 and they work fine. Yea I just cant wait until the third unit shows.
Third and fourth unit arrived, neither of these worked either. The first one started to print a test page, half way through it the same error with the print cartridges occured. the fourth one never accepted either the new cartridges or the cartridges that came with it. It is beginning to look like I have 16 really expensive pictures, and a rather nice paper weight.

Summary: It's an excellent photo printer for light-average use
Review: First, this is not meant as anything other than a photo printer; it may or not be able to print text and graphics, but that's not it's main function. It's main function is to print high quality photos, which it does well.
The photo quality is certainly very good even at the default settings (the only ones I've used). Outlines are crisp, colors are clear, there's no blurring *unless your photography skills put it in there...*
It's a little slow doing full borderless prints, but so is any home use photo printer. It does 4X6 reasonably fast, although not blindingly so. However, the slightly slow speed is more than offset by the high quality of the prints, particularly in this price range.
It'll let you do basic photo editing, but it really is no match for Photoshop Elements, or any other decent photo suite. It's still a nice touch though, to be able to do at least basic photo maniupulation (zoom in or out, rotate etc.) on the printer.
The ink economy is so-so. There's better out there, but they cost significantly more (add at least another 50-100 dollars) so it's a question of how much you print. Since most people wind up doing predominintly 4X6, it's not really a big deal; thier cartridges last for a good number of those. However, if you print out more than maybe 20-30 4X6 photos and/or 10-15 8X10's a month, I'd reccomend a heavier duty printer. That's a lot more than most people actually print though.
It's also easy to use; I still haven't bothered with the instruction manual and get everything done I want to with it. The navigation menu on the LCD screen is very self explanitory and takes just a couple of minutes to get to know. Also, I've yet to have a malfunction with this machine, which is nice; no jams or anything.
It's a fine printer for a good price, and a great choice for the vast majority of home users looking for a dedicated photo printer. Quality is excellent, speed is acceptable, and ink cost aren't bad; while there are better photo printers out there, they cost a good deal more.

Summary: HP once again
Review: I bought this printer (7760 with the 57 & 58 ink cartridges) so I could have good quality edge to edge photo printing, even though I swore that I would never buy HP again. The problem is, no matter how much HP sucks, they are still the best out there, at least for printers. After taking the printer out of the box, I almost sent it back within ten minutes. It does not come with a USB cable. I have an older computer notebook: Pentium II with Windows 2000, 8G harddrive and 96MB ram. The installation disk told me upon beginning of installation that my operating system and memory were inadequate for this product but would be OK. However I had IE 5.0 and the program requires IE 5.5 or better. And it had to be Internet Explorer; Netscape or any other browser was not acceptable. I had no intention of ever getting on the internet with this computer so this upset me greatly. So that was 15 minutes wasted. After digging out my modem and connecting to my telephone line it took another 100 minutes to install the latest version of IE (6.1 I think). Then back to the installation disk, and that took another 55minutes. At which point I'm really beginning to wonder about those HP goofball engineers and hope that the printer works faster than the installation. Then it asks me to reboot and it takes another 40 minutes before it asks me to plug in the USB cable. A few more minutes and I am printing. The printing is slow, but it is still faster than my HP 1220c with the 78 ink cartridge and the quality is notably better. It is still not "photo processed" quality, but it is still outstanding and satisfies my need for printing pictures from my new 3 megapixal camera. I also have a Canon BJC-5000 with a BC-22e cartridge which print quality was almost equal to the 1220 but with less contrast. HP uses IE for the help files and online registration.

Summary: An impressive printer at a good price
Review: I have to say that I am quite impressed with the print quality of this printer. After my Lexmark PM100 took a dive, I was left with the problem of finding another. The lexmark was ok, but I wanted something with better print quality and speed. The photosmart 7760 deffinately meets those requirements and more. I printed a picture on just plain paper with the HP that blew away the quality of the Lexmark on photo paper. I was also happy with the price. I only paid $159.00 at BJ's. Everyone else was $179 to $250.

Review: I just received the 7760 in the mail today.
I had to run to Walmart because I forgot to order the USB printer cable. After I hooked the printer up to the computer which took about 10 minutes ( includes the unpacking of the printer ). I took out all the pictures that I had and WOW the quality is unheard off. I mean the pictures are just so clear and pure quality. The printer pretty much started on it's own.
Just plug everything and put the disk that came with it and It does everything on it's own. Ohhh and then I tried photo paper.
Ohhh man it just got better from there. THIS IS THE PRINTER TO GET.!!!!!!!

Summary: Great choice for a novice
Review: I ordered this printer to go with my new digital camera and found it simple to install and get started. I was able to print a great photo immediately using the sample paper provided. It is terrific quality and rivals 35mm prints from the photo finisher. If you are looking for a reasonably priced photo printer with all the extras this is a good choice. Printing direct from camera cards with out turning on the computer is very handy.
