Rating: Summary: Great all-around printer Review: I've had my i560 for about a week, and so far, it's the best printer I've ever had. Installation of the ink and printhead was a snap. It is extremely quiet and smooth, and had a much smaller footprint than my old Epson. It prints fairly quickly in color, extraordinarily quick in black & white. Color prints on the included Canon photo gloss paper look like they're straight from the photo lab. On plain paper, the prints are sharper than I expected, and the inks are sometimes shockingly bright, even without the image enhancement features of the Canon printing software turned on.I replaced my old Epson 980 because it seemed destined to develop clogged jets every five minutes. Two weeks ago, I tried to print just a single page, but after ten cleanings, I still couldn't get a solid print, so I hunkered down and ordered this baby. I was tempted to just get a new Epson, but after reading some reviews of the current crop, it seemed the problem is an epidemic with all models, even the newest ones. Conversely, everybody I've ever known who's had a Canon printer loves it. I was also tempted to get one of the higher end, six-color Canon photo printers. But I opted to save a few bucks and go with the i560 instead. I honestly can't imagine that the more expensive Canons could do much better!
Rating: Summary: This printer is great! Review: I've looked around for reviews for inkjet printers all over the internet and I found that the Canon i560 and i860 have the best and most number of positive reviews. This is the reason why I bought the latest i560 printer from Canon and it did not disappoint. Print quality is excellent and the speed is awesome. I prefer the design of the i860 ($50 more) but I wanted a cheaper printer which I use mostly for text and low-to-medium res graphics printing. I also hardly print photos because I keep them all in CD-ROM and print one or two that I like to put in a frame. Both the i560 and i860 print excellent photos with the i860 slightly better because of the extra black photo ink for hi-gloss paper printing. BTW, one of the things I like about Canon printers is that they have separate ink cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. This is very economical since you only have to replace the color that went empty instead of all the colors. Generic ink cartridges are also available on the internet which only costs a fraction of Canon's ink cartridges. They also have the best software driver where you can preview the print, create photo effects before printing and warns you which ink is low or empty. (...)
Rating: Summary: You cant do better for your money Review: My last printer from a few years back was an Epson. At first the printer was good then there was the dreaded clogged print head which frequent Epson printers. After that I swore that my next printer would have the option of replacing the print head. Fast forward a few years forward and I purchased the i560 with complete budget on mind. I wasnt expecting anything other than an average printer, when I began using the unit I found that its more than an average printer. Good: Borderless printing on glossy paper is amazing with this unit even at 8x11.5 paper. The printer has a decent build and the seperate color tanks is a fantastic. Text printing has been the majority of the printing use for this unit but photos from my 2MP camera look amazing on the 4x5 photo plus paper. Bad: As with any product you can find flaws. Borderless prints will have a very thin line (as thin as a strand of fine hair) at the bottom of the print. This is mostly noticable if your looking for it and if its on black. From what I understand when printing photos it doesnt use the black ink but the combination of the 3 colors to produce black. In either cases these are not major issues and shouldnt stop anyone from purchasing this unit if your in the sub 100 range for a printer.
Rating: Summary: Best Value I've Found Review: For speed, print quality, quiet operation, long ink cartridge life, and versitility this bets the Epson, HP, Lexmark, and Panasonic competition by far. I've been using the i560 for 11 months and have no complaints. I sold all my other printers at a yard sale last spring and haven't missed any of them.
Rating: Summary: Love this much better than Lexmark Z52 Review: This replaced my Lexmark Z52 - the Lexmark ink was so expensive and the Canon is better for universal printing and has cheaper inks as well. I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent product- great for college students Review: I have really enjoyed this printer from the moment I got it. It's black print quality is amazingly crisp and clear, the color printing looks much better than it should be for this price range, and it even sounds cool when it prints. I definitely recommend this printer, especially for money-worried college students. Very nice product!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME printer Review: I got this printer for my birthday mainly for printing pictures. It produces the best pictures I've ever seen. Even the 8x10 size looks great. The borderless pictures you can print are truly borderless. No white whatsoever. You can also print with borders if you prefer too. I have a Kodak CX6330 digital camera and the pictures from it are great. I prefer the glossy paper but the matte is great if you are looking for more paper at a good price. The ink in this printer also lasts a long time too. I got at least 100 photos from the color ink that came with the printer. And the ink is fairly inexpensive too. The colors are around $12.00 each and black is about $15.00 each. You can get all 3 colors from Sam's for $28.00 which is a WONDERFUL price. And if your camera has the pictbridge technology you can hook your camera straight to the printer and get your prints. Setup and installation was a snap even for me who is technologically challenged. The only hassle is getting all the shipping tape off. And the software installation was a breeze. If you follow the on screen instructions you will have a much easier time than doing it the way the instructions say. Great printer for a great price. Highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: Great Printer Review: Between work and home I have owned several printers over the last 10 years, and for the money this one is the best yet.I am impressed with the color matching, the speed and the low noise level. I also like the borderless printing option. Overall the ink jet cartridges are reasonably priced, and you can buy them individually. I also like the fact that the paper guide/holder is attached. On my Epsons it always fell off--but thats another review which that will not even come close to the Canon printers in quality.
Rating: Summary: Great value, high quality printer Review: I've been using this printer since it came out, both with Windows XP and OS X. I've never had any problems with it. The print quality is consistantly good, and photos are produced quickly. It's ridiculously inexpensive, the ink lasts a long time, etc. What's not to like?
Rating: Summary: Banding and/or Roller marks on Photo Quality Pictures Review: I've owned the s450 for years and still use the printer today. I like it so much, I recommended the i560 to a friend and was very upset to discover that photo quality pictures printed with the i560 (printed on the free 4x6 paper that came with the printer) continuously print with visible roller marks on them. Not sure why this is happening... I've never had this problem with my s450. Otherwise, after a number of print head alignments, the photos looked great --- they just have these GLOSSY HORIZONTAL BANDING LINES ALL OVER THE PAPER.
