Summary: Great Monitor
Review: I've been looking for a flatplanel monitor for awhile. My old 17CRT tube was on its last legs. After going to a couple stores and looking at some personally, I decided to go with the envision 17 inch. I was going to order it from Amazon but they didn't have any in stock. SO I started looking for all the fpanels on amazon and came upon very good reviews of this. I decided to take a flyer on it and this is one very sharp monitor with lots of space. And the fact that you've got 3 different type of inputs is neat and so is the protective glass not to mention to cool styling. My video car supposedly accepts multiple montirs. I may just get another one!

Summary: Incredible piece of hardware/art
Review: I've bought two of these monitors at this point and will probably buy a third for my office. Not only is this an incredibly fine monitor with great resolution, it is also a piece of art. Several people have commented on it and how it looks in my office. Solidly built, great adjustment controls and a DVI input make a good investment for my office use. You get what you pay for and this is well worth the extra money.

Summary: Great LCD
Review: I've had this monitor for a few months now and I'm really thrilled with it. Adjusting the tilt angle is nice, the controls are on the lower right (not way up on top like others). The auto-adjust feature works great. The display is crisp and the viewing surface is hard glass, not that cushy mat-like stuff in the really cheap LCDs. I got kids in the house - need durability.

Summary: Excellent display
Review: I've had this monitor for a little while now and I have to say it's by far the best LCD diplay I've ever laid eyes on (having looked at a few) The colors, sharpness, brightness and contrast are all very good indeed. It does have a stuck pixel, but in normal useage it's less noticeable than the support wires of any Trinitron CRT. Backlight evenness is also very good and the build quality looks excellent. It's also very stylish. The glass panel on the front seems to help visually and adjusting it for color and contrast is fairly easy allowing for very good display gamma settings.

It's a real treat using this in it's digital mode at native resolution. Sharp, precise and very easy on the eyes. When calibrated and given a suitable display profile It's at least as good as any high end CRT I've looked at and better than most, it was important for me to get the best image quality I could find. The X-174 is very impressive and I have ordered a second one after trying a cheaper LCD... it's really not worth the eyeball pain.

I think the only downside is the maximum resolution, 1280 x 1024 can seem small when used to 21" monitors running 1600 x 1200. That isn't a fault in the monitor though, 1600 panels are rare and not necessarily as good as this. I am very happy with this monitor and though it's expensive, it's worth it.

Summary: Side-By-Side Comparison
Review: Let's face it, LCD monitors are unbelievably crisp in image quality and detail, but they always lacked in viewing angle and most had motion blur or hesitation when playing fast action games (the new graphics cards have really helped). Well that's not true any more! Before buying a monitor here on Amazon, I recommend you view them in a side-by-side comparison at one of the local retail stores. That is exactly what I did. I was fortunate to have all of the name brands represented; NEC, Samsung, Sony, Viewsonic, Compaq, HP, IBM, Philips, etc.; so doing a side-by-side comparison was easy. I even made sure they were running the same graphics card by recabling my final choices on similar PC's running the same graphics card and displaying the same moving and still images. I was looking for a 17" or 18" monitor (this one is 17.4" viewable and thus it's name of X-174). One monitor stuck out from all the rest with it's crisp color, excellent image reproduction, and unbelievable viewing angles, Neovo. All of this and the monitor was running in analog mode, not digital! One of my primary disappointments with LCD monitors is the viewing angle. Every LCD monitor that I viewed showed dark areas above or below dead center, even when viewed at the optimum angle of straight ahead. The Neovo monitor was the only one that I viewed that performed like a CRT monitor when viewed at less than optimum angles. Yes, their claim of 160 degrees is true! This is a very impressive monitor with an excellent build quality (a three year warranty) from a new subsidary company of AIC (I researced them on the Internet). Setup was a breeze; I replaced the default Windows XP Monitor driver with the one supplied by Neovo (it still worked with the default Windows XP driver, but I wanted to use Neovo's), pressed "Auto Detect" on the monitor, and that was it! Viewing StarWars Episode I showed such vivid colors and detail that my TV can't display and fast movement was not a problem (Pod Race). Now if only I can get a TV with this much quality at a decent price. I highly recommend this Monitor, but don't take my word for it...go out and view it for yourself.

Summary: Defective on receipt
Review: The title says it all. I set up the monitor, turned on the computer and there was no picure; a blinking light indicated a problem. The manual said to check connections which I did. Everything was secure. I was impressed by the reviews for this monitor and was willing to pay a premium for it. I was very disappointed. I'll have to shop around for another monitor--I would be afraid to reorder.

Summary: Great Design
Review: This is a great monitor to look at, with a very small footprint and unique design. The picture is very bright, and the adjustments available allow for a wide range of changes. The driver files that came with the monitor were very outdated, and it required many phone calls/emails to the U.S. offices to finally get the right files. Their entire U.S. staff is 5 people! The glass cover on the front is very useful, and the build quality is excellent.

Summary: Excellent Choice!
Review: This monitor is an incredible piece of hardware. It is beautiful to look at when on and when off. The shell is not cheap plastic but it is high quality steel and glass. The glass coating over the screen is an excellent idea that protects the LCD screen and makes it so easy to clean. The input options are excellent and the automatic resolution adjust button works perfectly.

I have been through many monitors, Mitsubishi Diamond Pro, Sony Trinitron, and I did lots of homework before deciding on buying the AG Neovo. I am so glad I did, and I will never buy another brand as long as they keep up their current quality.

As for customer service, I lambasted it in a former review, but apparently, it was a miscommunication between them and me. Since then, I have received some of the best customer service I have ever experienced as a consumer. I am not being paid to write this review and I am not an employee or spokesman of AG Neovo. But if you are in the market for a well priced, quality LCD monitor. Buy from AG Neovo. You won't regret it.

Summary: Great combination!
Review: When I read about the Neovo's capabilities, I was sceptical, but I thought after reading Mac World's rave review, I would give it a try. I'm delighted! I have it connected to a View Sonic VB50 HRTV television reciever as well as my G-4 with an ATI Radeon DVI video card, and it's superb in both roles. I couldn't be more pleased with both the Neovo X-174 and the View Sonic VB50. Two big boxes (a 19" TV and a 17" monitor) are now gone from my office and not at all missed.
