Summary: You'll never go back to CRT Monitors ever again...
Review: A friend of mine needed a new computer, so I decided to build one for her. After some thought, I figured- hey, why don't I just give her my old computer and build a nice, new one for myself? So that's what I did. Since she had an old Macintosh Performa, I needed to get a new monitor. That's when I started thinking about getting an LCD monitor. There's a lot of opinions out there stating the pros and cons of getting and LCD vs CRT. But the one opinion I found common througout the 'net was that if you are going to get an LCD, get one w/ DVI. Makes sense: Why have a computer translate a digital signal to analog, and then have the LCD monitor take the analog signal back to digital. Not good. So that limits the selection of LCD monitors out there. The next thing is that I didn't want white. Call me picky, but white is boring. I guess that's what happens when you work on Macs alot! I ran into the Neovo X 174, and I was sold. It has 4 signal inputs: DVI, analog VGA, S-video, and regular video (RCA jack). The black glass filter is definitely a plus, but the winner here is the image clarity. It is just awesome. I have the Neovo X-174 plugged into my WinFast GeForce3 via DVI. It's just awesome. Running the Nvidia Chameleon demo proved just how clear and vivid everything was. Keep in mind that the demo's resolution is 1024x768 and the X-174's native resolution is 1280x1024. Image scaling is practically a non issue. Running Microsoft Word in native resolution is crystal clear. Rage's Hostile Waters at native resolution and at 1024x768 is practically identical. As a gamer, I didn't care that it didn't have built in speakers or a USB hub. Speakers should be separate anyways, and your USB ports should be in front of your case, not on a monitor. Viewable is 17.4 inches, but it really looks like a 19 in. monitor, I can't say enough about this thing. DVD playback is just like watching on an expensive gas-plasma panel. Be warned though...once you see it, you'll never want a CRT or white LCD panel ever again!

Summary: Style & Fuctionality
Review: After looking at a number of computer flat screen monitors as well as reading what seemed like hundreds of reviews, I can across the AG Neovo X-174. The images look as good as the images on my old 20" Trinitron. I consider myself as a pretty good digital photographer, so image quality is extremely important to me and the X-174 does not disappoint. The colors in photos are crisp and true and the text quality sharp & clear. Please note that the AUTO function is disabled if you use the Digital DVI-D input so make sure you use the 1280x1024 at 60 hz resolution for your best results.
So with image quality is as good as my old monitor, why spend a great deal of money on this technology? It's all about space recovered. I have gained about 200 square inches of desk space back so my life is less cluttered and I won't go blind with the monitor 3" from my face.
One last comment.... The X-174 is one cool looking monitor. It even looks good with nothing on the screen.

Summary: Amazing multi-use monitor
Review: Based on recently published flat panel monitor reviews, I decided to try out the highly rated AG Neovo X174. I also chose to upgrade my older G4 Mac with a DVI (digital) video card to fully appreciate the monitor's capabilities. I'm delighted with the arrangement so far. The image quality is nothing less than superb. Since the monitor had an unused analog (RGB) input port, I added a View Sonic VB50 HRTV tuner and now have a really cool flat panel TV on my desk as well.

I looked at a wall of LCD monitors at the local super-store and none except perhaps the Apple 17" Studio Display even came close to the image quality of the Neovo. It costs a little more than most, but I'm satisfied that the quality and features are worth it. Plus the screen surface is non-glare glass that's easy to keep clean!

Summary: Pleasantly surprised
Review: Bought mine 3mos. ago at amazon for [money] new, worth every penny. Excellent picture quality, excellent quality of construction, includes all the cables, I can't believe this thing came from China! It trumps every 17" & 19" CRT I've ever seen. I'm runnning a Nvidia G4-4200 card, my only beef is that the autoadjust button doesn't work when you use the DVI connection, but honestly, it doesn't seem to need it. CATIA, Solidworks, and GTA3 look great with almost no ghosting. Mine had 4 bad pixels (out of millions).

Review: great monitor but will not show text when running partition magic or ghost i suspect the driver from microsoft as neovo does not have any they only have inf file which does not support win xp or the x-174 monitor so i have to connect my crt monitor to run pm or ghost. of course the company blames microsoft well neovo produce this monitor so they should support it.the rest a wonderful monitor, if any reader has solved this problem let me know.

Summary: Incredible piece of hardware/art
Review: I bought the monitor because it was listed as both PC and Mac compatible. But the monitor apparently doesn't accept a digital video signal from Macs. It would've have been nice to know that before I spent the thousand bucks.

BTW, I say "apparently" because the manual includes instructions only for connecting to the Mac's analog connector. I asked Neovo tech support to address this issue -- but they ignored my inquiry.

I'll end on a positive note: Amazon.com's shipping was FAST.

Summary: It's good.
Review: I bought this a long time ago.

- It is NOT easy to keep clean. Every single fingerprint shows as a fly on a white roof. Then I might agree that it's easy to clean :) Just some windows cleaning and a paper and it's back to normal again.

- It's not THAT great in games. Low color games like Halflife/Counterstrike often shows black streaks, thoug newer, more colorfull (less dark contrasts) games work just fine.

- The very good saftyglass reflects very much. Though the safty of a protected TFT surface is very nice.

- The Auto adjust button don't work in DVI mode cause it's no need for it there - it done digitaly.

- If you use analoge connection, you don't have to press Auto every time the resolution changes, just when you change to a resolution not used before. When you have used it once, the settings will be saved.

Overall this is a very good display. With a 25ms response time it's not THAT good for games, but I think it quite OK anyway - you MUST run in 72 or 75 hz though - otherwise most of the dark areas will have streaking... But as they say - colors are very good. I came froma 19" Sony Trinitron, and that was a little better. Though the Sony had lowsy geometry and was off-tone (blue :) ). And that sucker weighd in at 28 kilos ;) Not nice on LANs! 7 kilos might sound a little heavy but it so small weight isn't really an issue. It's just to take it under the arm and go. And the weight makes it feel very very solid. The only plastic on thos monitor is the little piece that covers the buttons on the right side (feels like the buttons of a copy machine - a plastic "film" over buttons). The buttons and overall design has "industrial" written all over it. It would look great on reception desktop for example. For home users I can tell you that the "grey" metal rear hosuing (well - all things not foot or front glass) matches very well with the dark grey on the Chieftec/Antec Dragon towers. The only bad thing designwise is the round corners. Their funtion is to hold the front glass in place. I would like to have a little cooler desieng on those than just a cylinder.

It has VESA complaint wall/arm mounting holes on the rear. You can also completley remove the foot stand.

Summary: Absolutely incredible monitor....
Review: I just got one of these monitors for my new computer system and it has to be be one of the best monitors I've ever seen. The colors are incredible - bright, crisp and nary a flicker in sight. It's also wall mountable to save even more desk space.

I shopped around quite a bit for the right flat panel monitor before deciding on Neovo. Even though it's a bit more expensive there were several reasons I chose this monitor. First and formost was the color quality - quite a few of the flat panel monitors I looked at has a washed out appearance or the resolution wasn't up to my expectations. Another was the variety of input options - analog, digital (which I use) and S-Video (you can hook it up directly to your dvd player or receiver). The last major reason was the optical glass over the lcd membrane. It's a breeze to clean and I think actually helps the image sharpness. I've always wondered why no one put glass on an lcd panel - the panels are hard to clean and I don't like that if someone touches the screen the picture distorts.

If you're looking for a great flat panel monitor I couldn't recommend this one any more.

Summary: DVI support, real glass, and stylish design = Quality
Review: I'd been looking a long time for a 1280x1024 LCD monitor with with digital DVI input for around 1000 bucks. A simple request, but impossible to fill! It was worth the wait because AG Neovo's standout 17" monitor has all this and more. Like a hard glass surface that you can actually Windex, and an attractive minimalist black design that looks like it came from a Swedish furniture showcase. The contrast, crispness, and readability from even the most extreme viewing angles can't be beat. When the Matrox G550 Dual-DVI card comes out, I'll consider purchasing one more of these super displays.
