Description:

The ultimate in space-saving convenience, Apex's GT2017DV combo unit offers everything from DVD playback to digital surround-sound output, MP3 music playback, and compatibility with both JPEG and Kodak Picture CDs, so you can enjoy shots from your digital camera right in your living room.

The 20-inch TV uses a Pure Flat picture tube, which not only looks cool compared to a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture--partly owing to the screen's ability to reduces reflected ambient light. The tube's Invar shadow-mask increases its transparency and reduces thermal deformation, greatly improving picture stability and delivering more vivid images.

The GT2017DV's three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).

The set gives you stereo audio from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. You can choose between two sets of rear composite- and S-video-equipped AV inputs and a rear AV output and a coaxial digital-audio output (for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround sound) lets you hook the set up to a surround receiver.

DVD features include fast and slow forward motion, frame-by-frame advance, programmable sequencing, and picture zoom (2x, 4x). The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto off, and a remote control.
