Rating: Summary: A great monitor -- and now a great deal, too. Review: (Note: I actually own a PF790, which is what they used to call this model until a couple of years ago. There may have been slight changes to the monitor since I bought mine. I'm sure the quality has gone up in general.)This is a great monitor if you want a screen larger than 17" and you are both a) short on desk space, and b) don't want to (or can't) shell out the cash for an LCD display. Although it lacks the perfectly flat screens of newer CRTs, the picture quality on the PS790 is still very good, and of course the significant size savings helps in a cramped environment (like a college dorm room, where I used mine for four years). Despite being 19" from corner to corner, this thing is about the same depth as a 17" monitor, or a cheap 15" model. It supports fairly high resolutions and refresh rates -- again, this is not a professional graphics monitor, but it's more than suitable for any home user. I'm finally looking to replace my aging monitor (the brightness and contrast are both slowly fading after about 4-5 years of heavy use) -- and I seriously may replace it with another one of these. Or two, considering the price. One good 17" LCD (the same screen size) is about $500.

Rating: Summary: Unbeatable Quality Review: At first glance you may think this monitor is a bit pricey when compared to other 19" monitors. However, I can attest that this monitor is worth the premium. Viewsonic builds some of the highest quality monitors on the market, and the resolution of this model is breathtakingly crisp at all resolution levels. The PS790 is a member of Viewsonic's professional series and it shows it with the ability to handle the most demanding 3D games and graphic design applications, along with the everyday internet and word processing duties. If you want the best 19" CRT monitor you can buy, THIS IS IT.
Rating: Summary: See it to believe it!! Review: Excellent monitor in every sense. I couldn't believe I was using the old monitor until I switched to this one. I bought a used one for around $$ and it was worth every penny of it. I would say buy it to believe it!

Rating: Summary: Worst monitor I have ever had ! Review: I bought three Viewsonic monitors over the past three years(PS790, GS790-2, and E771), and man, what a huge mistake! They are all dead now while ten-year old Dell monitors are still kicking.
Don't expect it to last long, if you buy one. I will never ever buy any Viewsonic brand in my life time !
Rating: Summary: It's true: this 19" monitor takes up same deskspace as a 15" Review: I really couldn't believe this when I plopped this sucker on my desk. I used to have an old 17" monitor in this spot, and with this new 19" monitor I suddenly had 6 more inches of deskspace! ViewSonic is one of the best monitor vendors in the business -- they're always pushing the envelope, yet keeping their reputation as a manufacturer of reliable equipment. With this monitor, you can run (your video card permitting) at 1600x1200 at 78Hz, which means you get top notch resolution at a pretty good refresh rate (i.e. no flicker). About the only drawbacks I can find are that it doesn't come with a built-in USB hub like some of the newer models do, and that there is a slight curvature to the tube. It's plenty flat enough, unless you're one of those types that has to have the perfectly flat screen. My mother, my sister, and I all have one of these PS790's, and we have absolutely zero complaints!

Rating: Summary: Great Monitor! Review: I've had it for four years and couldn't be happier. I'm a heavy Gamer as well and Graphics are important to me. Huge Screen and fits in Small space.
Rating: Summary: Great monitor, excellent graphics, small desk space Review: I've owned this monitor now for 2+ years, and I've never been happier. It really takes up the same space as a 15"! And with an above average video card (geforce2), you can get flicker free resolution refresh rates, and definitely reduced my eyestrain. The graphics are sharp, the text is clear, and the colors crisp. Some of the other reviewers had problems with the GS790, but I didn't. I suspect that when they purchased the monitor, they used regular ground shipping. I always pay extra for 2-3 delivery, as that implies special handling from UPS or Fedex. Having the greatest monitor but having it go thru conveyer belts during shipping may damage it, or shorten the life of a monitor. I've used this monitor for 3D work, games, and business functions. And it has performed beautifully and I've never been happier. The only way I'll give this monitor up is when the 21" viewpanel drops down in price.
